This series is about bringing politics to people, mostly in germany, that don't know that much about it. So he sort of pretends to have not heard about it, so that it is explained to people who really haven't heard of it.
Ich weiß nicht, ob ihr es mitbekommen habt, aber in den letzten Wochen ging es irgendwie immer wieder um Überwachung, Kontrolle und "Big Brother". Das meint jedenfalls meine Lokalzeitung, die wöchentlich kostenlos im Briefkasten landet.
Deshalb wollte ich mehr wissen: Wer ist mein großer Bruder? Habe ich auch eine große Schwester? Ist Unterdrückung schlimm? Warum ist ein Überwachungsstaat eigentlich eine doofe Sache? Wer schützt uns schließlich sonst vor Kinderpornos und Terrorismus und sorgt für "Sicherheit"? Und wer soll bitte George Orwell sein?
Ich habe mich für diese offenen, naiven Fragen mit *Jacob Appelbaum* getroffen. Jacob ist Kryptographie-Experte und hat letztens gerade einen gewissen Edward Snowden interviewt. Es schien also Ahnung zu haben.

Es ist die letzten Jahre (nach der offensichtlichen Schmierkampagne) sehr ruhig um Jacob Appelbaum geworden. Das wird sein Leben komplett durchgeschüttelt haben: Cancel Culture at it's best. Jacob scheint nun endlich wieder öffentlich aktiver (siehe Leffest’19) zu werden und würde mich sehr freuen, wenn ihr ihn für ein aktuelles Interview gewinnen könnt.
Ich find es gut auch solche offensichtlichen Fragen zu stellen. Nicht jeder ist mit dem Thema bewandert und gerade die junge Genation hat eventuell noch nie was von Orwell gehört. Jacob hat ein unglaubliches Charisma und kann aus eigener Erfahrung von den schrecklichen Folgen eines totalitären Überwachungsstaates erzählen. Danke für das Interview!

Free software also has the capacity to be free of backdoors - little programs which allow for instance Microsoft or the US NSA or others to peer into your computer via remote entry, or your phone to be turned on (yes they can!) remotely.
Proprietary software is not free for your viewing or, legally, to change.
Thank you Tilo, Jung & Naiv as you pretend, for your show! Maybe you could use a backdoor to put into smartphones and computers everywhere!

Gut. aber mal eine grundsätzliche Frage. Ist die gespielte Naivität Mittel, um weniger Interessierte an die Themen heranzuführen oder soll sie Alleinstellungsmerkmal des Interviewers sein (quasi zweites Standbein, neben der Frisur)?
Ersteres passt nicht so recht in ein (noch dazu englisches) Interview mit Jacob Applebaum. Jeder, der sich das anschaut, kennt garantiert Orwell.
The interviewer is clearly incompetent. He made the interviewee feel uncomfortable and as if that wasn't enough, they put the wrong address at 28:12 ...
This is the style he does his interviews.. The title Young & Naive and the subtilte "Politics for the indifferent" are program here... He is a bit like a 3-year old child who always asks "Why?" :D

I was put in psych hold and they tried to pick my brain for an 'alias', and made out like my partners pet name for me was my alias. Very creepy. It was the nurses that had the aliases by the way.

Big Brother was Orwell's recognition of the insidious rhetorical false intimacy of Der Vaterland or Mother Russia or Uncle Sam, brought to complete realisation.
Loads of private security firms also seek & sometimes get so much information on you that they can predict the likelihood of your actions & sell that capacity. Ask Jacob.

You've got it all wrong. See, the concept of the show is to inform the young folks who are usually concerned with the latest Iphone and what Kim Kardhasian is up to, about things that determines their lives in 'naiv' manner. The interviewer is acting 'Jung&Naiv' which translates to young and naive which, quite quite clearly so, most of the young folks nowadays are. The reasons which young folks don't give a flying fuck about politics nowadays is because all the big words.I quite like the concept

Das beantwortet die Frage, oder? (Und ja, ich finde es auch ein wenig nervig. Aber sonst guck dir einfach eine Rede von Appelbaum an, z.B. die bei DigitaleGesellschaft. Da gibt's weniger solche Fragen..)
Aber die die Orwell, Jacob und GAMMA kennen brauchen sich das Interview nicht zwingend anschauen. Es ist für Menschen welche wenig bis keine Ahnung von der Materie haben und alle anderen die mit Fakten gefüttert werden möchten.
