Derrick...I have a question.... I bought one last month and my butane can attaches via magnet... other videos state you need to turn the canister. Does yours attach via magnet ???
I’m glad you brought this up! I completely forgot to mention this in the video. Where the head of the butane can seats inside of the unit, hidden under the fold of the ring is a magnetic ring. As you slide the canister in you’ll have to rotate the canister so that the gap in the collar on the can lines up with the small metal tab around the heaters insert. When done right you will see a small shift as the magnet grabs onto the can and pulls it in. If you’re not noticing the can attaching properly, I would look around the inside of the heater for a ring shaped magnet. These are notorious for coming loose during shipping.
Great little heater for in the truck if you get stuck. Like you say, make sure you crack that window. You would definitely need the tent door flap open. Just in case. Thanks for sharing, Derrick.
Is that a boom box on your fridge? I’m so jealous. Please tell me that you still have cassette tapes 😁 I love the heater, plus being able to cook with it. I would definitely use it in my tent. To just warm it up. Cool video brother 👍🏻👍🏻
Yep! Bought that boombox at a yard sale in Bardstown for $10 😂. I have a full box of old cassette tapes. Ozzy, zeppelin, CCR, a whole assortment. This little heater is a beast. It would heat up a 4 person tent no problem. Would probably cook you in a 1 man. I love it. I’m just running out of room for gear 😂
Just bought this heater last week. Also the canister attaches to a magnetic disk, instead of locking in place by turning it. There stoves also use the same method of magnets. Newer model i guess.
Great question! One that I meant to answer in the video. Personally I’ve been able to run it almost four hours on the lower setting off of 1 single 8.8 oz (250g) canister. That lower setting seems to be enough to heat up a 3-4 person nylon shell tent fairly easy. A canvas tent would be even warmer inside I would imagine
I've had this for a couple years. It's pretty great for scenarios where the temperature is over 0 F. In subzero it will leak fire and if you have it near anything flammable it would be a problem. On the plus side you can turn it down really low to where the flame flickers and make the canister last a very long time, which is great in a small space
Yes that’s really the only downside to butane. In extreme cold the pressure begins to drop. Of course in those long term situations where you might be spending days or weeks at a time exposed, nothing beats a properly vented wood burning stove.

Spot on Derrick....my magnet was dislocated during shipping !!!!@@DerrickHikes
@@hdrvman Great! Glad it turned out to be just that. So far that magnet has been the only issue I’ve found with the heater.
Awesome video
Thanks for watching!
That's a great little heater! Excellent review Derrick!
Thanks, Alex! Can’t believe how much heat it puts out!

Thanks for watching, Chris. Will have another heater review up for a different model within a week. Love this little heater.
Cool little heater... for campers who use butane stoves this eliminates the use of propane If 3300 BTU's is enough
It’s a great little heater. I like my propane heater for the bigger tent and because it lasts longer but this little guy does the job great

@@DerrickHikes that’s awesome on the boombox and tapes. Good choices on the music too

Love this little heater. Ready for another upcoming winter with it.
👍
What is the average run time on one canister?

Thank you so much! Happy new year to you!
😂 Keep em coming!
Thanks for watching, Roger!
My directions were in English. It explicitly says No! do not use to cook on!!!!
how long does the can of fuel last?
One 8.8 oz canister will last you around 4 hours on the lower setting. I ran it on high for around 2 hours.
