That guitar was on loan from the Gibson museum and because of that scene, they have vowed to never lend out another piece to anyone ever again. It was one of (either a kind or of like five) in the world and was essentially priceless.

Pre-internet days - I read an interview with the owners of the home used for the dinner scene in "Heartburn" (IIRC). Because they signed the papers, they were for all intents and purposes, thrown out of their house for a week. The construction of their home was altered at the bone-level to accommodate the tons of equipment required to shoot the scene. Apparently, nothing was restored, and when the owners protested, they were told in no uncertain terms, "Use the check we wrote you."
Movie makers are just barkers and mountebanks with access to increased technology.

i think its funny how his name is kurt, just like kurt cobain, who would smash guitars for a living, and ironically was the owner of the two most expensive guitars in the world, with first most expensive also being a martin for 6 million dollars.

Rest in peace brandon Lee and whoever the poor guy Alec Baldwin shot was ,I never followed up on that story… but accidents do happen even if everyone was doing their job perfectly that’s why when you’re working with stuff like that you have to always be a professional… it’s a dangerous line of work even though it’s supposed to all be fake. Even if they don’t die they can seriously be injured. Kane Hodder in the wicked witch of the west both had permanent fire scars from being set on fire working on set, God died making the twilight zone movie had chopped off by a helicopter, 2 kids too. Very sad all around. You really have to love movies to risk some shit like that
