i know its very minor with no affect on the outcome but Ken cannot present his cloudstone loop using the shield spear because it is an artifact creature and doesn't trigger curio. could have just used any of his other 3 creatures on the field that cost 0 to cast tho.
@@krenarspahiu4261 i mean, sadly i think he did with the Shrieking drake. But only technically with the cloudstone curio because as mentioned there were legal targets.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ken at the snowy summit 5k in denver back in july. He’s just as swell of a dude in person as he seems to be on these shows.
I might be crazy but I'm pretty sure Ken missed a win attempt at 19:17. If he had played the shrieking drake untapping the island with EC as well as floating a green from Gea's Cradle he would have been able to keep his island untapped with song on board and drake in hand. Wasn't sure if there was something I was missing because the deck gets very complicated.
Flubs just says “increase the win chances of whoever lands a Rhystic or Remora to 75%”. He feeds the crap out of it and has nothing to prevent the win that almost inevitably follows. I guarantee that game 1 would have been a Cam win if he had gotten to his turn.
if another player would like to use the shield of the coward (Rhystic Study) to win a game of cEDH, that is not the province of the fool; it is between them and their god
@@rightmerk4192 we don’t want stuff like that, if the interaction don’t draw a card we don’t want it, if we was to do that we would just run chain of vapor and protection pieces. You heard Ken this deck prolly won’t be winning any tournaments without anyway to protect, but you know what? That’s just a chance you take when your a damn fool 😂🐸
The long intermission though. Dylan’s latenight talkshow host wink. Cam’s exit. This is why we watch (or listen to) Play to Win. Also, Flubs with that combo at the end, goodness!!
It didn't matter but shield sphere shouldn't have triggered cloudstone because it's an artifact. He just needed to cast any non artifact creature or trigger kitten and bounce kobold
Tl;dr: he actually could start the loop by paying the "sacrifice a creature cost" first, then mana, then exile three other cards (which now includes the sacrificed creature), so everything's good. The different sub rules of 601.2 break down the super nitty gritty of casting spells. Of particular relevance here is 601.2a, e, f, and h. A is when it moves to the stack, e checks that it can be legally cast (it can via permission from Escape; it doesn't check whether the cost can be paid yet), f determines the total cost ({1}{B}, Sacrifice a creature, Exile three other cards from your graveyard), and h allows for all costs that don't involve random elements or moving cards from a library to a public zone to be paid in any order. So you can pay the mana, then sacrifice the creature, then exile three cards which includes the creature now in the graveyard.
correct me if i'm wrong but couldn't Ken have won at 19:16 by casting drake in response to its trigger tapping gaes cradle for 1 green and then tapping drake to untap an island through earth craft which would have given him enough mana to cast song of creation and then recast shrieking drake infinitely to draw his deck.
all 3 big bans in the first 2 turns. It's almost nostalgic at this point lol. Won't lie though I'm liking how thinky lines are in my Rakdos the Muscle without the big 3.
love flubs I play this same list I didn't get a chance to actually play cause the ban hit right after and hurt us on DS but how you won without casting DS was amazing ken 👌🏻
NOTE: Ken had the appropriate creatures to make the loop work. Funny thing about Cloudstone Curio, it keeps getting ruled back and forth on whether or not it sees an artifact creature as an artifact or just as a creature. Last i was informed, it sees an Artifact Creature as an Artifact making targets like Memnite, and Ornithopter illegal targets. While he could not target Shield Sphere like he said he does he has the mentioned Cloud of Faeries and Rokrhah, son of Rokrhah and one of the weird 0 mana red creatures.
It will prolly end up being taken apart and for Dylan to say "its trash, im going back to playing blood pod" and then proceed to not play blood pod on the channel.
Flubs is my go-to commander now. I've been playing him for a month or so straight now when I play on our game nights. He had been tweaking him, and to me, he craved lands, all the lands, lands lands lands, nothing but lands and landfalls. So Springheart with Dyrad and Lotus Cobra, make a few copies of Cobra. Then, after that, you legit just can play the entire deck, made sure no exile cards were in there. Had like 40 lands out and like 50 or 60 Dyrad tokens, with 100s of mana floating of varying colours. At that point, I should have just thrown my entire deck on the board, but everyone scooped.
In my defence, my friends should know not to let Flubs stay on the board. As we can see, you don't even need Flubs once you got the right cards to still Be Flubs. I really wanna see if there is a super niche way to play him, it's already fun sending him at someone for 0 commander damage. Just still new to mtg.

Hey Cam, what card were you hoping to find with Fish when Tyler was going off in game 1? He had Grand Abolisher in play, so I'm curious what you are on that gets under this loop with Abolisher in play. My best guess is Otawara, I think? But I'm not sure how you use that land without an untapped blue source in play. Also, Cam, I'm SO sorry about game 2, but the *SECOND* that you said you pitched Misstep to FoN over a Gamble, I *KNEW* you were about to lose to a Noxious Revival 😂
not even done with game 1 yet and a two mana investment has provided a 1/1, a 5/5, and killed 3 things. God why couldn't they have banned bowmasters instead not to be too negative though, i did enjoy the games, Flubs is wild
Casually glancing over the 5 mana generated T1 from Kona (without a land drop), the 7 mana generated T1 from Ishai, and Tyler immediately tutoring for a Dockside that generated 8 mana on T2 is an interesting perspective on the bans.
So I added devoted Druid machine god effigy combo to replace more mana ramp infinite, what’s thoughts on throwing astral dragon to add to combo list for kinnan
