  • It's hard to make friends for Chinese students in America. You don't get to see Chinese students hang out with American friends very often. In this video, they give you what the reasons are.

I feel you. Try to go out and talk to people, be the club member if you are in the school. That helps a lot.

@@phet5230 I admit it's difficult for me as I suffer with social anxiety disorder and stuttering to be honest with you. I wonder if they're club members in my town. Thanks for making this video

@@phet5230 it'd be incredibly wonderful if I had those type of people who are interested of being a friend to me and sincerely appreciated me for me, good man. I live alone, have no brothers and sisters then my parents passed away many years ago. I struggled to fit in and try to meet people. To make a long story short; I ended up getting taken advantage, disrespected and turned their backs on me. Sorry to sound pessimistic on my end

Dude I am not American nor Chinese, I live in China lol all of the laowai老外 have problems making Chinese friends lol let me say it out loud. "Making Chinese friend is like pursuing a shy girl" why am I saying that cause they dont have the courage to come and say hello to you , you'll have to do it by yourself. I am an African and I have lots of Chinese friends lol it was me who said hi first lol now they are all my friends, I know Chinese people and the culture been living here for a year and half I'd say to these kids, get the courage to say hello and I know why they cant make friends because their fellow asians pressuring them. 我爱中国

Not a fan of the last questions or that girl interviewer. Felt very discriminatory. “what are you doing to make more American friends” was not the right question to ask. Also telling students to “just be social” if it were that easy we wouldn’t need to have this interview. Interesting topic though for sure I have always bee curious about it

its part of their arrogance, in their mind "YOU HAVE TO BE LIKE THEM TO BE ACCEPTED" .

Chinese people are racist and now they perceive the tables have turned.. trade war, ramping up for war with china, anti-asian hate crimes, overdose epidemic, wuhan virus or the china virus.

I taught English in Beijing for 12 years. I lost my visa or I would still be there. I love China and I value my Chinese friends. I would like to make friends with Chinese in America.

I want to make Chinese friends because they seem like good people and like they might be good loyal trustworthy friends but they play hard to get… maybe they’re just introverted, shy or have social anxiety but it seems like they dislike or are scared strangers or other people in general in any setting. They might ignore you, avoid you or eye contact, or put their hand up at your face if you try kindly speaking with them. I understand there are some cultural differences in China such as when people walk down the street and cross paths smiling or saying hello or small talk is not something people commonly do. They really do only mingle with each other 100% of the time which is very sad. Maybe growing up in their government schools they’re taught that they are superior to westerners.

Dude, I am a Chinese student and I agree with part of your comments, but I don’t think we have a feeling of superiority. As for me, I am not sure if they could stand up with my poor oral skills. Besides, this is my first day in US, and I want to make American friends😂 That is cool, bro
