    Claudia, this video was so good - so comprehensive. It's not easy to clearly explain these things and you did such a good job. I like that you mentioned the natural ways to increase NAD+ as well. When you described how you've felt since on NR, I could relate. Besides having more energy, I too had and have that feeling of well-being. It is so hard to describe but I just feel more alive, more like my old self. It is hard to put it into words but you did a good job. I am so happy it's helping you. I am now taking NMN which I am so excited about. I might take NR and NMN but for now I'm taking the NMN finally. I am also using this innovative skincare product that has NAD+ in it, as well as resveratrol and apocynin. Anyway, I am amazed at this field of longevity. Thank you for mentioning my channel - that is too kind of you.

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Life & DIY hi Holly. I am so glad you enjoyed this video! Yes, it is hard to describe, but there is a definite sense of well-being that comes from taking NR
      Of course I am going to mention your channel! I learned about NR from you and am so grateful for it.
      How do you feel on the NMN? Any different?

    • @LifeDIY
      @LifeDIY 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@claudiaglows Aww you are so sweet. I miss ya! That is a good question about going from NR to NMN. The sense of well-being is something that is pretty subtle, yet also prominent. So hard to describe but I know you understand. I have been feeling great on it. I am actually taking more product now and I'm feeling better again. I felt great on the NR but it started to feel like the energy levels weren't as high as when I started. When I began on the NMN, the energy levels are up and up again. The other issue though is that I was being a bit stingy with the NR and not taking enough at times. This time, I am taking it a bit differently (sublingually) and some of the products I have are also liposomal (which reminds me of you and your vitamin C video) and it seems they may be more effective at a lesser dose - though sometimes I take a good amount (ie: 500mg). Overall, I actually have the ability to exercise again and it's helping me so much with that. I had some sort of exercise intolerance - just a lack of energy to sustain myself through more than an 8 minute workout - I am not kidding. And, although the NR was helping, I was still struggling with the fitness aspect of things. I love that working out can increase NAD+ = but it seems like I needed NAD+ in order to be able to workout. :) I think both NR and NMN are great. So far, so good. I am also taking some supplements that support NAD+ production and I think they are helping as well. I want to do a video on it soon. I hope you do more videos on your experiences. :) This is super fascinating! Oh one last thing I noticed is that my blood pressure is lower. :) They checked it the other day and it was 120/60 and it has never been that low. I think I need to retest this to see if that was accurate or not. If so, that is interesting as well.

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Life & DIY yes, please make a video on it! I am super curious about it
      What is the company you are using for the NMN? I have had someone else tell me, that they take it un liposomal form and I am very curious about that.

      @@claudiaglows So I am using a company called Alive By Science. They were called Alive By Nature. They just recently changed the company name it seems. I really love their products. I don't know why or how I did not know of this company before. But, I think it might be because they aren't on Amazon. I believe their company has been in the business of selling supplements for about a decade. Then, sometime maybe 5 or 6 years ago they began solely selling longevity supportive supplements - NMN, resveratrol, etc. I think there are few companies that you can truly trust that sell NMN - at least in the U.S. And, I really trust this one. They also triple check their products for purity. So, they have a variety of delivery methods for NMN. I mostly like just taking it in a pure powder form under the tongue. It looks like they also have a sublingual liposomal NMN. They also have a skincare line that I am trying out. I went a bit overboard with things! :)

    Thanks for the video Claudia. Very informative. I started taking NR and resveratrol together a few days ago and I have already started to experience everything you spoke about. More energy, better sleep, and a new feeling of well being. I'm 67 years old and have always taken care of myself. This regimen seems so far to be the icing on the cake. My only concern is if the NR and resveratrol could be potentially reacting with any of the prescription meds and other supplements I take.

      Hi Phil
      It is lovely to hear from you you, and I am so happy you are experiencing the benefits of NR as well!
      NR being a form of B3, I am hoping it won’t interfere with any of your meds or supplements, but it is best to check with your doctor

    At the time of making this video, I was not aware of the importance of using a methyl donor, such as TMG, when using NMN or NR. I will address this in a future video, but if you are thinking of using NMN or NR, you might want to add TMG, to aid in numerous processes that require methylation.

      @@claudiaglows Yeah that is an amazing thing that you mentioned. I have the issue of white hairs. It sounds similar to what you said you would get here and there and pluck them out. :) When I get them they are pure white. I didn't really think about it, but I think the occurrence has lessened for me as well. I used to get a lot of it at once (esp in my brows) and now I might get one, once and a while. My good friend has been taking these supplements for years (NMN, NR and one other one - I think it's nicotinic acid or niacinimide) and he was telling me years ago about a man who had greying hair that turned back to being brown. I need to look more into that aspect of it. I am curious if it is a common occurrence.

All the ingredients are buyeable. The tablets you consume have a similar process to Liposomal vitamin C, in the sense they also contain Phospholipids. I'm 100% this could be made at home. Would this be something you would look into? If not it's okay. Youll still be one of my favourite TH-camrs ☺️👍🏼 thank you again for this video

      Hi, it is so nice to hear from you again! Will you tell me your name?
      I am happy to hear you got some NR for your grandpa, I hope it will help him;
      I can definitely look into making this at home, the only problem I see is getting a good, clean source of ingredients. I actually a few months ago found a liposmal form I really like, it is NMN, not NR, but I have the same great benefits from it. So It would def. be possible to make it liposmal as well, but again, the only problem is finding the ingredients, and the cost might not be any less at the end.
      The thing with vitamin c is that it is so inexpensive, but the liposomal formulas on the market are marked up like crazy. Finding a cheap, clean source to make the NR or NMN, might not be as easy. But, I promise you I will look into it and I will keep you updated.
      Wishing you a wonderful weekend

      You know, I do not think that the niacinamide will be quite as effective as the NR. I did use niacinamide for a while and did not notice much. A few months ago I started taking NMN, and that one is just as effective for me as the NR.
      Please keep us updated on your niacinamide experience. If you continue to take it, it might be a good idea to look into methylation and decide if you want to take a supplement that provides methyl groups, since niacinamide can deplete methylation.

      NR is unstable in the blood and breaks down into nicotinamide. The half life in the blood is about 30 minutes. So by taking NR, all you are really doing is taking a large dose of nicotinamide.
      On the other hand, NMN is stable in the blood for hours and hours. I am taking that now, sublingually (under the tongue). You can feel its effects immediately. If you take too much you can see your urine turn bright yellow, just like if you took a large dose of B vitamins. I'm taking 125 mg NMN twice a day by this method, and feel great but its hard to tell if it's the NMN. It does seem to disturb my sleep.

    I bought 100g NMN, should receive it today, I mainly bought it for gray hair issue, I am 36 and 30 to 40% of my beards have gone gray. No medicine seems to help, but I have seen medicines work on others when they are using NMN.
    How long did it take for you to see gray hair restoring their natural color?
    And do you have any idea how much weights you were lifting before taking NR and how much were you talking after 3 months of taking NR?

    • @claudiaglows
      @claudiaglows  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, it is nice to hear from you.
      You know, it is hard to say, how long it took for the grey, esp. since I do not have that much grey hair. But, I just increased my NMN to 1000mg a day, (about 6 weeks ago) and now I have been getting zero greys for the past months or so.
      As far as the weight, I was for example swinging a 45lbs kettlebell, now I use a 55 lbs and feel that I could actually go heavier, but it is the heaviest we have:).
      Please keep me updated on your progress.

      So if you wanted to test your NAD, DoNotAge has a test you take at home and send off.
      As far as at the lab, personally I would be curious what my cholesterol as well as sex hormones (in your case testosterone) are and how they are affected by NMN, if at all
      What brand NMN are you taking?
