I’ve just finished 14 days, and I can tell you my knee and joint pain is gone. I’m about to start a large tub now. I have it in tea every morning. It is hard to impress me, but this works.
My mother (in her 60’s) is also taking it and says she is very impressed with results too. She has had inflammation in her joints and has said this is now gone. In fact wishes she had started sooner. I don’t normally comment on videos like this but felt I needed to agree that this does work.

My hair has gotten so dense since taking unflavored collagen & unflavored bone broth daily! My Afro has not been this thick since childhood. My nails did okay but after I went 95% carnivore they really got stronger. My right knee, right ankle & the pain on the bottom of my left foot have completely disappeared. 49 in December- not one wrinkle & my skin is so soft. I put a serving of Vitamin C, L-cystine & silica in each serving. I don’t skip a day.
The other benefit is I didn’t realize how bad my gut was until I started taking it. I started off with Vitals but switched to Great Lakes Wellness because they have a 8lb bag. More cost efficient. Been taking 10 months.

I am 73 and I began a Ketogenic lifestyle January 2020. At that time I noticed fine lines and wrinkles developing around my eyes and upper lip. At that time, I also started Vital Proteins Collagen. I use both products in my morning coffee. After three years of daily use, I can say I will never stop using it. I have no more joint pain. I used to have problems with my hands - no more! I’ve never had nice fingernails and was spending lots of money getting gel nails every month. NO MORE! My nails now look great and I do my own manicures. No more fine lines and wrinkles on my face. It’s hard to say what caused these results the Keto or the collagen. I’ve also lost 80 pounds. The difference in my mobility is amazing. The one thing I know is I’m Keto for the rest of my life and Vitality Proteins Collagen is going to continue to be my mainstay.

I took this supplement everyday for about a year. I noticed my finger nails grew longer & healthier. I also felt like my skin was better but the most exciting thing for me was my hair. It grew longer faster & it did seem to be thick. Just longer & fuller. My doctor told me to stop taking it because he said it was a waste so I stopped, boy was he wrong!!! My nails changed. Growing slower & more brittle. And as for my hair definitely not happy with that. Not nearly as healthy & shedding constantly. I have lost so much hair. This supplement really works. So I give this to my cat who is pushing 22 years old. She definitely has the typical old lady problems like arthritis and kidney and thyroid disease, however, I feel like her fur has suddenly gotten a lot fluffier and she’s still walking around and doing stairs. She recently injured her paw by hyper extending the ligaments which is usually a very difficult injury to deal with but within a week she’s back to walking around with only a slight limp. At her age, I’m sure that good genetics are a big part of it but people are amazed That she can still get around as well as she does.

I appreciate you posting this. As an older person in my 50s, I would only find videos of younger people taking this. When you're older, we experience certain things like dry skin, thinning hair, and achy joints. Knowing you had this outcome is encouraging to hear. So I will start to use this on a daily basis along with cutting more sugar out of my diet

I started taking a glucosamine supp, UC II, and most recently Vital Peptides. I'm hoping to get stronger connective tissue and also healthier/better hair (I'm growing my hair long). The great thing is that this protein is extremely lean. It is basically pure protein, so you don't have to worry about getting too many calories. I put a scoop of this in my morning coffee.

Listening to your experience was interesting! I've noticed after a week and half taking 2 scoops of non-flavoured Vital Proteins Collagen, my nails do not crack anymore like they use to. I actually got a buzzcut two weeks ago and noticed that my hair grew back slightly faster than usual and definitely a little bit thicker and felt soft. My skin looks great too and helped reduce some small areas of acne I had on my forehead. I take collagen during my eating window and after working out and has made me feel a lot fuller. I have also noticed post-work out taking collagen, it has really made me feel better, more energized and my body doesn't hurt as much afterwards. I usually take collagen in my coffee. I have tried taking it in cold water before and did not appeal to me very well and the taste was subtle.

I have also been taking Vital Proteins since January. I started taking it as a supplement to switching to a carnivore diet. Since I get more collagen from fatty meat, I use one scoop per day. Within two weeks, years of chronic knee pain was completely gone. It was shocking because every medical professional who evaluated me said I had arthritis and it would only get worse. Of course there are two factors at work here: Carnivore + collagen. I stayed strict carnivore for 6 months, lost 30 pounds, and now I would describe my diet as ketovore. My carb intake is extremely low, and my vegetable intake is very limited, but does include small quantities of berries, mushrooms, avocados, and cruciferous vegetables. I feel like 20 years have been peeled back in countless ways. I am 65, and have hair thinning, but the rate of growth and the thickness of my hair has definitely improved. It seems like the thin areas are filling in too. My nails are growing faster. I can't objectively make any claims about my skin.

What I found though was that managing carbs was like managing cocaine. There was never a satisfying balance for me. It was always a struggle. My new diet works better for me. Regarding my knee pain, you know, I don't think health professionals in general go very far to find solutions for older people. They figure "yeah, you are 64, and your knees are gone, no surprise". Channels like yours help open people's eyes to the fact that many of us can soldier on and do much better. Diet and lifestyle are the key, not so much modern medicine. My diet will remain carnivore based, I guess the common term is "ketovore". As with all matters of health, individual factors will require some experimenting and adjustment. I am 75 and have always been pretty active, walking, HIIT and strength training, but a year ago I started to have lower back problems and the pain really slowed my enthusiasm for going to the gym. I started going to the chiropractor every 2 weeks with never a lot of lasting relief. Then in January 2022 a routine dexascan showed that I had developed osteopenia. I refused to take the medication that my doctor prescribed after reading the list of side effects. At that point I started taking Vital Proteins Collagen, at first one scoop a day, then progressing to 2 scoops daily in my coffee. It is now 8 months later. I have no more lower back pain. I have been able to increase all my gym activities by double what used to do! If I go to the chiropractor it’s just for maintenance every 2 or 3 months. And as a bonus, my fingernails grow faster and stronger than before and my complexion is smoother. Now I am anxiously anticipating my next dexascan in hopes that this regimen has been reversing the osteopenia. Or at least halting a progression to osteoporosis. We shall see. I do need to mention that I also got and use a vibration platform that is also supposed to help increase bone density.

I took collagen peptides for hip pain and I noticed a difference after a couple weeks. Then I stopped talking them for a couple weeks to see if the pain would come back and it did but once I started taking it again the pain went away again. I can't believe a supplement actually works this well and this fast. It's worth a shot if you are suffering from joint pain and want to try to avoid taking pain meds or at least keep it meds to a minimum.

I've been binge watching your videos since I've been trying to research for healthier alternatives for many things in my diet.
I wanted to ask, are all versions of collagen the same? Regardless of where it comes from, like different types of animals.
I've been eyeing this live conscious collagen pepititides for a bit and hopefully soon I thought about buying it. Idk if it's better or if other brands are better, just so I can try to get the best results.

    • @JTJaredTaylor
      @JTJaredTaylor  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hi Vic! I hope you are finding something helpful in my content. Thank you for watching. As for collagen, there is thought to be 28 different types of collagen and they are not all the same. The most abundant types are types 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10.
Different animals have different types of collagen and there is some overlap. Example, fish have type 1 and so do cows. It's more important to focus on how the collagen is sourced. For fish you want "wild caught" for cows (bovine) you want "grass fed".
There is a lot more too it than just taking a supplement. You're body needs to break down the collagen into amino acids in order to build it's own collagen that's right for you.
You also need to be sure you are getting other nutrients that support your body's ability to make use of the collagen you are getting regardless if it comes from your food or a supplement.
But I hear what you're saying. If you are going to spend the money then you want to get the most you can out of it.
I'm not a doctor and I can only talk about my own experience. I have seen good results from Vital Proteins collagen peptides as well as Ancient nutrition multi-collagen protein. There may be other brands that are better but I haven't tried them so It's hard for me to recommend.
Here's an article about collagen in general that may help. my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/23089-collagen

I do not jump on current bandwagons easily; however, in at least one aspect I am amazed. That would be my nails, which have always been problematic. I have been taking Vital Proteins, two scoops a.m. in my coffee every morning . I am 77 and in the last few years they have had the worst, peeling, splitting to the quick, of my life. I truly have tried everything and I have a very healthy diet. Well, my nails have hardened and are growing like crazy and no peeling! They also hold their shape which is allowing nail polish for the first time in years. Have not noticed a hair difference or skin difference, but keeping an eye on both. Not noticed a difference in joint pAin, either, but I will keep taking this for the nail miracle alone! Be patient people, it takes a long time for those nails to grow. I noticed a big difference at about the 3-4 month period. Thanks for the Costco tip, sure beats Amazon!

I am 66, and have been taking collagen daily since about 2012, and started bone broth a couple times a week around 2017. My hair and nails have not improved at all. My nails are still weak and thin.
BUT, inside my body is a different story. In 2010 I had a total knee replacement in my left knee and was told I was 60% to needing a right knee replacement. I was getting injections in my knee to reduce pain, and had my right knee drained once. I saw something about collagen on TH-cam and started taking it to see if it would make a difference. Over time the collagen decreased my pain and improved my knee functioning. I was blown away by the difference. I can run and I couldn't before, it is so much fun for my dog when I run with him.
Also, I stopped taking it for about 6 months in 2021 and pain starting creeping back in, so I started taking it again and my knee health improved again. I feel pretty confident I am going to avoid a knee replace in my right knee.

I also began taking Vital Collagen supplement, and what I noticed right away was my skin began to heal faster. I tend to bruise easily and the bruises last a long time, and since taking the collagen my bruises went away way faster, in days rather than weeks. I donate blood and sometimes this can leave bruising where the needle goes in and for me it would take 2-3 weeks to heal. My best friend also donated blood with me, I'm 46 yrs old, and she's 66 yrs old, and she would heal super fast, normally, she did not take collagen, so that was normal for her; so this was something I was concerned about, I even began taking arnica in sugar pills and topically as well; which btw did help. Because of this, I noticed this change in healing faster right away. I do keto and intermittent fasting to maintain my weight, especially now that I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism. I saw this product at Costco and noticed that it was no fat, no sugar, and very low in calories so I decided to add it to my keto plan as a low-calorie lean protein supplement, I had no idea it had all these benefits, but I'm glad I did. My friend had a heart attack and is now taking the collagen supplement as it's no fat, no sugar and low calorie; she needs to maintain a heart healthy diet, she's límites in what supplements she can take, and this supplement fits in her diet.

I was suggested this video probably because I searched collagen supplements near me 😉 I'm 65 and have done Keto over 4 years. A long time hiker and runner. Joint pain disappeared with keto. I'm budget minded so when I tested out taking collagen every day for the past few months I figured why take two scoops when I might get effects with less. I only take a half teaspoon in my coffee. My results: stronger, no splitting, 3x nail growth, and 2x hair growth... Plus I've been bald since my late 20's... surprisingly more hair has grown in from the sides! Curious to see you do a test of taking real Ceylon cinnamon over a period of time for it's health effects 🤔

Don't be fooled by the cheaper substitute or even products that are labeled as organic. Ceylon is the one that has health benefits. You won't be disappointed, except for the high price, as Ceylon Cinnamon melts in your mouth and has much more complex flavour notes.
