I’ve just finished 14 days, and I can tell you my knee and joint pain is gone. I’m about to start a large tub now. I have it in tea every morning. It is hard to impress me, but this works.
My mother (in her 60’s) is also taking it and says she is very impressed with results too. She has had inflammation in her joints and has said this is now gone. In fact wishes she had started sooner. I don’t normally comment on videos like this but felt I needed to agree that this does work.

Sorry your mother was scammed. Steak, eggs, milk, whey, or any other complete protein would do what collagen does AND help with muscle and organ tissue regeneration. Collagen is a scam to sell boiled animal trimmings that would be sold cheap or disposed of otherwise.

I’ve been taking Vital Proteins collagen religiously for the past 4 years. I started it after a friend of mine who horseback rides a lot told me how it helped her achy joints. I am 57 and have had two bad falls/ accidents in the past year. The first one a very heavy object fell directly on top of my foot and cut it up bad, the other one I had a bad fall and bruised my left arm so badly it looked black and blue for 3 months. In both cases I did not break anything ! Before I started taking the collagen I would wake up with stiff joints and body aches. That never happens now. I will take this stuff the rest of my life. It works great !

My hair has gotten so dense since taking unflavored collagen & unflavored bone broth daily! My Afro has not been this thick since childhood. My nails did okay but after I went 95% carnivore they really got stronger. My right knee, right ankle & the pain on the bottom of my left foot have completely disappeared. 49 in December- not one wrinkle & my skin is so soft. I put a serving of Vitamin C, L-cystine & silica in each serving. I don’t skip a day.
The other benefit is I didn’t realize how bad my gut was until I started taking it. I started off with Vitals but switched to Great Lakes Wellness because they have a 8lb bag. More cost efficient. Been taking 10 months.

I like the silica by Ojio because it’s concentrated. Honestly it’s probably not a necessity but I love not being in pain so I’m probably a bit OCD when it comes to joint support 😂.

I am 73 and I began a Ketogenic lifestyle January 2020. At that time I noticed fine lines and wrinkles developing around my eyes and upper lip. At that time, I also started Vital Proteins Collagen. I use both products in my morning coffee. After three years of daily use, I can say I will never stop using it. I have no more joint pain. I used to have problems with my hands - no more! I’ve never had nice fingernails and was spending lots of money getting gel nails every month. NO MORE! My nails now look great and I do my own manicures. No more fine lines and wrinkles on my face. It’s hard to say what caused these results the Keto or the collagen. I’ve also lost 80 pounds. The difference in my mobility is amazing. The one thing I know is I’m Keto for the rest of my life and Vitality Proteins Collagen is going to continue to be my mainstay.

I’m 67, thin after gastric bypass surgery in 2002. Malabsorption has become a significant issue in that I have osteoporosis and am very lacking in vitamins and nutrients. I stated using Vital Proteins 7 weeks ago and, like you, the first thing I noticed was my fingernails growing like crazy. They’re a little harder too which is good because my thumbnails have been splitting. Hopefully this issue will resolve. I have very fine hair and I’ve lost so much of it due to bypass and menopause I haven’t seen a difference in my hair. A coworker said my face looked fuller, my skin looked happier. I’m an esthetician so that’s a bonus! Lastly, and imo most importantly, my knees don’t hurt anymore! I was debating buying a cane because I was in so much pain. 2 scoops a day did not impact my knees but 3 scoops did. Pain free, that alone is worth it!

I took this supplement everyday for about a year. I noticed my finger nails grew longer & healthier. I also felt like my skin was better but the most exciting thing for me was my hair. It grew longer faster & it did seem to be thick. Just longer & fuller. My doctor told me to stop taking it because he said it was a waste so I stopped, boy was he wrong!!! My nails changed. Growing slower & more brittle. And as for my hair definitely not happy with that. Not nearly as healthy & shedding constantly. I have lost so much hair. This supplement really works. If you are on the fence about it try it. You will see results.

So I give this to my cat who is pushing 22 years old. She definitely has the typical old lady problems like arthritis and kidney and thyroid disease, however, I feel like her fur has suddenly gotten a lot fluffier and she’s still walking around and doing stairs. Those with arthritis or inflammatory joint/muscle pains, listen up. I've been taking collagen for a year but still experience lower back pain if I stand and don't move around much for 2+ hours. Plus my tennis elbow pain is also more noticeable. (I've always had minor arthritic inflammation since young).
But when I added 2 capsules of turmeric powder daily, I noticed my inflammatory pains decreased by maybe 50%. So experiment a bit and consider turmeric in your routine.

(Found that price increase at Fry’s and Albertsons was just too expensive). I do switch out the types of collagen from bovine to marine as well. It is the foundation for my nutrition and Olympic Weightlifting training program & has helped get my joints back into competitive manner. I do not jump on current bandwagons easily; however, in at least one aspect I am amazed. That would be my nails, which have always been problematic. I have been taking Vital Proteins, two scoops a.m. in my coffee every morning . I am 77 and in the last few years they have had the worst, peeling, splitting to the quick, of my life. I truly have tried everything and I have a very healthy diet. Well, my nails have hardened and are growing like crazy and no peeling! They also hold their shape which is allowing nail polish for the first time in years. Have not noticed a hair difference or skin difference, but keeping an eye on both. Not noticed a difference in joint pAin, either, but I will keep taking this for the nail miracle alone! Be patient people, it takes a long time for those nails to grow. I noticed a big difference at about the 3-4 month period. Thanks for the Costco tip, sure beats Amazon!

I am 75 and have always been pretty active, walking, HIIT and strength training, but a year ago I started to have lower back problems and the pain really slowed my enthusiasm for going to the gym. I started going to the chiropractor every 2 weeks with never a lot of lasting relief. Then in January 2022 a routine dexascan showed that I had developed osteopenia. I refused to take the medication that my doctor prescribed after reading the list of side effects. At that point I started taking Vital Proteins Collagen, at first one scoop a day, then progressing to 2 scoops daily in my coffee. It is now 8 months later. I have no more lower back pain. I have been able to increase all my gym activities by double what used to do! If I go to the chiropractor it’s just for maintenance every 2 or 3 months. And as a bonus, my fingernails grow faster and stronger than before and my complexion is smoother. Now I am anxiously anticipating my next dexascan in hopes that this regimen has been reversing the osteopenia. Or at least halting a progression to osteoporosis. We shall see. I do need to mention that I also got and use a vibration platform that is also supposed to help increase bone density.

I have also been taking Vital Proteins since January. I started taking it as a supplement to switching to a carnivore diet. Since I get more collagen from fatty meat, I use one scoop per day. Within two weeks, years of chronic knee pain was completely gone. It was shocking because every medical professional who evaluated me said I had arthritis and it would only get worse. Of course there are two factors at work here: Carnivore + collagen. I stayed strict carnivore for 6 months, lost 30 pounds, and now I would describe my diet as ketovore. My carb intake is extremely low, and my vegetable intake is very limited, but does include small quantities of berries, mushrooms, avocados, and cruciferous vegetables. I feel like 20 years have been peeled back in countless ways. I am 65, and have hair thinning, but the rate of growth and the thickness of my hair has definitely improved. It seems like the thin areas are filling in too. My nails are growing faster. I can't objectively make any claims about my skin.

Regarding my knee pain, you know, I don't think health professionals in general go very far to find solutions for older people. They figure "yeah, you are 64, and your knees are gone, no surprise". Channels like yours help open people's eyes to the fact that many of us can soldier on and do much better. Diet and lifestyle are the key, not so much modern medicine. My diet will remain carnivore based, I guess the common term is "ketovore". As with all matters of health, individual factors will require some experimenting and adjustment. I took collagen peptides for hip pain and I noticed a difference after a couple weeks. Then I stopped talking them for a couple weeks to see if the pain would come back and it did but once I started taking it again the pain went away again. I can't believe a supplement actually works this well and this fast. It's worth a shot if you are suffering from joint pain and want to try to avoid taking pain meds or at least keep it meds to a minimum.

One tip for you: Make some rosemary water and spritz it on your hair after every shower; it will help slow the balding. I take vital proteins vital collagen as well…but the results are no where near what I’ve found from doing daily meditation. Done daily, your practice will go from 10-15 minutes to 40-60 minutes. The shift in your perspective and the way the humming from Mantra while breathing deeply, slowly has a substantial impact. Thanks for the video, I was curious if others were having strong results. I’m going to continue to take them for a while to see how they compare to protein supplements.

    • @JTJaredTaylor
      @JTJaredTaylor  ปีที่แล้ว +1

If you review the comments on this video you'll find a good number of people describing their own personal experiences (mostly positive) about taking collagen. I'm sure it will help you evaluate the benefits of taking collagen. If you're considering protein supplements for the purpose of muscle building specifically, then collagen is not the best choice. A good Whey Protein Isolate would be better for that purpose because it will have much higher amounts of leucine. If you are considering collagen for skin, hair, nails and joint support then it's something to consider. I hope that helps. PS - I've been practicing Transcendental Meditation TM for 1 year now and I agree there are significant benefits. Though I would have to suggest that nutrition and meditation are both helpful for different reasons. Not really comparing like with like or "apples to apples" as they say. Thanks again for your comments here. I appreciate you taking the time.

If hair not growing, start eating small nori wraps. They are in grocery store usually in nut snack area for small packs, international area for big nori wraps. Star by eating a small square daily 3” by 5” and then just once a week the same small square. It has iodine. This supports the thyroid and hair growth. My hubby had bold spot in crown, about the size of a quarter or more. In six months with one sheet a week his hair grew back. This is the same green stuff on sushi wraps but you can just buy the green stuff. The snack size in nut isle tastes the best. There is sweet and salty flavor, wasabi flavor. Get the sweet and salty. It works. I now give my hubby and son a small sheet every 1-2 weeks for maintenance.

I was suggested this video probably because I searched collagen supplements near me 😉 I'm 65 and have done Keto over 4 years. A long time hiker and runner. Joint pain disappeared with keto. I'm budget minded so when I tested out taking collagen every day for the past few months I figured why take two scoops when I might get effects with less. I only take a half teaspoon in my coffee. My results: stronger, no splitting, 3x nail growth, and 2x hair growth... Plus I've been bald since my late 20's... surprisingly more hair has grown in from the sides! Curious to see you do a test of taking real Ceylon cinnamon over a period of time for it's health effects 🤔

@@JTJaredTaylor thank you! Now if you said you are also a visual artist, a painter....! I researched cinnamon recently and found out I was not consuming the healthy form of it! Don't be fooled by the cheaper substitute or even products that are labeled as organic. Ceylon is the one that has health benefits. You won't be disappointed, except for the high price, as Ceylon Cinnamon melts in your mouth and has much more complex flavour notes. I'm experimenting to see if it really can do what reportedly it's supposed to do!

@@JohnHansenArtist Interesting. I've heard about Ceylon Cinnamon but have never really taken a close look. I'm going to have to do that. Thanks for suggesting it. Oh and I actually am a visual artist. My favorite medium is plain old pencil but I have done both acrylic and oil paintings. I like both but prefer oil for most things I would do. Thanks again!

I started taking marine collagen and on day 3 of taking it I noticed first my nails were more pink and felt stronger, then a less foggy brain, smoother hair and less falling out, skin tightening up after 3 pregnancies, and my face looking younger at 33. The differences are truly amazing!

This has been so helpful. I use a plant-based collagen as I have a family history of Cancer so need to avoid the IGF-1 in bone based--been amazing. Thanks so much

I'm a weird case. I started keto about a year ago to restore vascular health. I dropped 33 lbs and am feeling much more vital EXCEPT for an old knee injury which flared up 6 months into keto and has tormented me until I took some alternative action.
I was doing collagen peptides (different brands) and still NO RELIEF. Paid attention to my D3 and K2 along with Magnesium glycinate along with electrolytes, took plenty of curcumin and still had chronic stabbing pains in my knee... until.
I started taking MSM. Within 2 days of taking about 2 or 3 grams a day, my knee is completely pain-free. I am still doing everything else including the peptide powder, but that organic sulfur seems to be the missing link for eliminating joint pain
    .
I don't see this supplement talked about currently by the "Keto gurus" on youtube. It is something that my elderly friends raved about back in the 90s. But since I was still a young guy back then, I put that info onto the back burner of my mind.
I'm glad you all are getting results where I didn't, but for those still having problems, similar to me, I recommend this supplement. It is dirt cheap and you can buy it by the kilo in powder form and fill your own capsules (no need to measure either). One "00" capsule is roughly one gram. It is on the bitter side, so that is why I don't just dump a spoon into my coffee.
I'm not affiliated. I am just trying to help.
Good luck growing old... I'm 67 and am mostly in decent health except for high BP.

I had bariatric surgery on July 13, 2022, and I am down 60 pounds from my highest weight. I have bone-on-bone osteoarthritis in my right knee. Losing weight helped but I am getting gel shots in the knee to relieve the pain. I take collagen in coffee in the AM but still need the shots.

@@EducatedBlackMan Ouch! That "right knee" is the one that is problematic for me too (since 1978) because of a motorcycle accident. Losing the weight helps a lot, my knee is on the mend it seems. I am able to stand up from sitting on the ground without the help of my hands for the first time in a decade since taking MSM.
Good luck to you brother. I hope you can find a way around those injections eventually. If it's cortisol, that may impede your body's ability to mend that joint. Knee pain is NO JOKE though.... and we do what we can to get thru the day.

MSM is magic, IMO. It helps reduce inflammation, improves immune function, is needed for the skin and connective tissue. I use MSM cream since I can apply it externally and it is one of my go to first aid items for my pets as well. Thanks for sharing your story. I hope it helps other people. Cheers.
