I think I started off Alex-only, but have leaned more to Leila's content as I've been trying to learn management and leadership. Alex laid the foundations for the broad strategy, but Leila kicks off the day to day of actually working with human beings. Thanks to you both!
I could not agree more. I'm so glad she's posting more and more about how to just interact with people. This human interaction and empathy proves that it has a huge impact on the performance overall.
Such a great video. Thank you, Leila! Here are my notes: - Discretionary effort. If I give it, I’ll get it in return. Don’t wait to see if they are worth it, give it first. - People are trainable. Most people can learn most things. Are you a good teacher/mentor? Can you give good feedback, not in a punishing but encouraging way? - Invest in people as if they’ll never leave but know, even hope and be happy when they do. Investing into someone’s life being better is a good thing. Relationships can last even past them working for you. - Don’t tell them what to do, inspire them by who you are, as a character. Not only in business but in life in general. What you do sets the standard for the team.
Leila is one of the people I respect the most in my life. Never met - and may never meet - her, but she’s always been someone that’s blown me away by her compassion, dedication to becoming the best version of herself, and willingness to be so open and helpful for those of us who have been using her as a resource to help us in our own lives. I’m forever grateful for her.
It not B2B business to business It's not B2C business to customer The best game is H2H Human to Human Connection Pay them well and treat them as if they are a volunteer with respect and dignity. Leadership is about serving people. Most of life is full of paradox Great video.
We’ll probably never meet but your video reminded me that I like people and I care. My dysfunctional family tried to deter my kindness for others. Thank you. I can finally jump into the fire without any doubts.
This is one of the most insightful, encouraging, and eye opening videos I’ve ever watched. Thank you for your commitment to providing endless value to us.
You articulated exactly what I felt when I left previous jobs. It was the environments and so much of that started with the leadership not trusting us and micromanaging. I wasn’t willing to go through that for longer than a few months.
I now see why Alex was so prepared to show his vulnerable side with you Leila. I hope to one day be WORTHY enough to attract a lady who displays the qualities that you project.... Smart, attentive, compassionate, WISE, and who is at least willing to entertain the idea of learning what it takes to be in business.
As a woman who has been called "bossy" since I became a big sister at 2 years old, thank you for continuing to talk about this! You're an incredible role model and thought leader!
Hi Leila, I only recently found your channel. My boss is Alex's biggest fan, and through him making me watch his videos, I found you. I just wanted to say that I truly enjoy your content. I resonate with your thoughts. I think I am more like you-more Operational. And I absolutely admire how you lead.
The importance of genuinely caring for your team and leading by example is spot on. Seriously, it’s so inspiring to see how small acts of discretionary effort can create such a positive ripple effect.
“It only takes one person to change a relationship, and if you’re the leader in the company, that’s on you to do” Preach! Thank you for sharing this wisdom! I think women in general bring the relational leadership to companies and Orgs in such a healthy way. Men can do it to, but it’s not as natural. Let’s go Leila!
This is such a good talk on things that many managers could stand to improve. At my company it’s like pulling teeth to get a manager to say “Thank You” or”Good Job” when an employee contributes to a successful project. Guess how much discretionary effort they get from their teams?
I started watching Alex just a few weeks ago, but I quickly realized how much cooler Leila is. Sorry, Alex! I wish I could spend just one day with her-what a life-altering experience that would be!
Leila, your content is always insightful and practical, but this one is outstanding. What helped me to comprehend the ideas is your range of real stories. Great examples and bad examples. It changed the depth of understanding. Obviously, now it’s about learning it through doing it.
Great video. The one skill Leila sepnds 99% of her time on is "People management" and she has great experience on it, over the years she really has mastered it. A beautiful masterclass on People management. Being a successful business owner really requires one to resolve all their psychological issues & personality disorders and become a good human being with high empathy first. Then comes the product & business skills. Thank you Leila. You're an actual beauty with brains & a great human being. Keep inspiring & educating people. Lots of Love from India.
This is my second video of Leila ever. They’re full of great principles and situations (evidence for those principles). Lovely to learn. So insightful to see how her mind works as an etrepreneur.
I very rarely comment on videos. This may be one of the best and most tactically practical videos I have heard in a very long time. There is something timeless about excellent advice where you connect with it and feel certain feelings - while also feeling like you are hearing things you've always known. It's a weird combination of the ideas being true and almost obvious - but at the same time revolutionary in the sense that people who act this way are truly rare - and what a relief to know that humans like this exist. Thank you Leila for sharing what you know, and for doing the work to make it practical and easy to understand. This is great info for business, but also for life in general. This is how great leaders function. Again, thank you!
Love Leila’s content! Thanks for reasonable, logical, actionable, understandable wisdom, Pretty Lady! Thanks for encouraging the world to be a more considerate place in general.
This is so beautiful. Not just for embodying in business leadership but in how I see and relate to my family and everyone in my life. Thank you for teaching this and for your emphasis on belief in each person’s ability and caring about the whole of their lives.
Thank you, Leila, every business in the world needs to listen to you!!! Everything you said is true. I was assigned to a project which I had zero experience in. After my leader met with me, she looked at me and said, “I have full confidence in you”. Her belief in me along with those words brought me to a new level of success.
Wow, Leila! Your insights on leadership and discretionary effort are a game-changer 🌟. It's so inspiring to hear how you focus on understanding human psychology and truly caring about your team. Investing in people as if they'll never leave, but being okay if they do, is pure gold! 🔥 Thank you for sharing such valuable lessons. Keep being awesome! 😄
This advice is so applicable to personal relationships too. You've become one of my greatest virtual mentors, thank you. Hope to be able to give a gift to you guys one day as a thank you.
-Your explanations are super interesting. There is so much wisdom in your words, and I think the most difficult part of being a leader is caring for your employees and genuinely being concerned about them. You have truly explained it perfectly, and I am grateful and happy to have listened to you. I want to be your employee when I watch the video. Thank you for your time.
I LOVE your values and views as a leader. The point you made about still wanting a team member to be able to look to you as a mentor is so telling. Great video!
Loved this Leila. Discretionary effort, It is like random acts of kindness. When I lead teams in the submarine force it was the discretionary efforts... hands down which gained the loyalty from my team. Listening to your ethos, growth, and desires are admirable. You rock. "Knowing the goal of every student..." Getting the 'cascading" or alignment with their goals and the companies goals it is so much easier to get real engagement and by-in. How rewarding. I miss teams. So, I have decided to develop a project so BIG it will take a team. Look forwarded to seeing you with a potential collaborative goal one day.
Leila, thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and extensive experience. You present your content in a way that is both engaging and highly beneficial. Keep up the good work.
Leila, your emotional intelligence shines through in every video. I’m a leadership development /EQ consultant and when I see leaders like you embody these principles so well it makes me happy.
Leila, I so appreciate this convo. So much of what happens on sales floors is all number driven. Tons of "hoopla" mtngs about team-ship yet verry little effort afterwards.. empty promises. Leaders blaming teams and teams beign pitted agains each other.. so sad. Like you I'm an empathic leader therefore I truly care about team culture. ✨️
Love this! Lot of little tools that I already use in managing my team that I can improve on, or some things I might have been missing. Leila, you're a true operator! Have so much still to learn from your vids!!
Thank you so much for this Leila. I’m having a bit of a struggle inspiring my COO / Co-founder, but this video couldn’t have come at a better time. I just need to take the time to unlock his potential and be a better leader.
I resonated so much with this and its beautiful to find my empathic leadership styles and goals acknowledged ❤ it's so crazy how the old paradigm that not caring, micromanagent or being mean is still present. I learn so much from you Leila and first I had to force me to watch you (get over jealousy) cause growth requires to listen to people who are richer and more succesful than me.
I discovered Leila Hormozi for the first time, through a conversation, she had, with the one and only Chris Do from the Futur. This is great stuff. A lot of people don't care about people. They say they do but they don't show it and if the workers don't feel cared for then it won't work. Money is good. Sales is good but honesty and caring is so necessary 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Masterpiece!! Amazing bits of advice, I will put it on repeat and try to get deeper into these topics. Such an open and clear statement! Thank you, Leila, for sharing, caring and INSPIRING!! YES, you are inspiring :)
This is so true. I agree with you on so many levels. I don't have a company but hope one day I do. But I've taken care of myself and made drastic changes that people around me also started shifting so it is definitely not what we say but what we do. Great video 👌
This has to be one of my favorite videos of yours. I really resonated with all the points and it reinforces my idea thet i would enjoy being a leader, thank you Leila.
