It’s been 7 years since the GT 1030. I honestly thought the single slot gaming card space would be in a better spot in 2024. I know we have APUs but I miss the teeny cards.
For elden ring, it's because of DX12 that GTX 750-Ti/Quadro K2200 don't support, but there is a workaround by using d3d12ProxyEdrDx11_0 which makes games that don't fully use the DX12 full-set(those games that are DX12 for the sake of being DX12) use DX11, and many people use it and it works, hope you use it in your future videos when testing GPUs like the GTX 700 Series and GTX 600 Series
If you go to optional features and add a new feature to windows called graphics tools in the package manager you can manage directly which games you want to launch with direct x 11 i honestly had severe issues with this on games like cold war that detect anything messing with drivers as cheating etc(DXCPL doesnt cause flag in anti cheat). But it does work for majority of titles id recommend still getting something more recent like the rx 570 its alot more powerful than that card, If the game supports it -dx11 in the launch options usually works too. I just know because i have a gtx 950 2gb which can still run games in terms of clock speed but most of the latest titles run at below tolerable graphic settings like 720p etc due to lack of vram on all the older cards i tried everything to get around the insufficiency of these older GPU's i still have a 1gb gt 740 i use for fun here or there, What could really breath life into these cards is some sort of a modification to bypass direct x 12 requirements at the driver level without any user interaction and then make some vram mods or see if someone in PCB work can add vram to certain series of GPU's that people want to keep as it seems like more of a sentimental thing in my opinion. even 6GB is better than 4 and 8GB is the minimum rn in my opinion for smooth gaming/streaming/productivity.
Good work as always! Here in China, k2200 is usually 330ish RMB (35 pounds). For that money , we can get a RX580, which is much more powerful. But of course, these single slot Quadros always have their charm
the rx 580 does raise the price of a system if you are building an extremely cheap one. HP Small form factor PC's are usually dumped into the market for $50... Decent specs too, maybe an i5 8th gen, an ssd and hdd. Add a $20 and you get a older games console. the full size pc's are not as readily available because businesses don't use them
@@thisnowthen Good point. RX 580 also require better PSU and stuff. SFF barebone systems are pretty good, although the pricing for 6th gen and newer I5/I7s are still quite expensive here. For instance, I5-8400 alone cost 290 yuan (40is USD).
1050,1050ti,1650... Those cards are great and 1050ti is my all time favorite, specially the palit passively cooled version. Had one of these come in a Lenovo P500 and wasn’t really bad for what it was! Still perfect for a cheap eSports PC for someone on a budget. Great video thanks.
I got one because of one of your videos way back, was using Firepro W5100 in office machines before using the K2200 for similar price but more performance!
I used one of those in a small form factor Dell for a couple of years. Played quite well for older games. Got it for about £20 so the entire setup was around £50!
The most powerful proper single slot card I can think of is GTX 1070 katana I've recently read somewhere about RTX 2000E, but that's not a "gaming" graphic card. Hopefully one day you'll have a chance to test them, as always, thumb up for you mate :)
I'm pretty much here for content about older hardware. I often build budget gaming PCs for people with little money and it helps me to get an idea how certain hardware performs in titles I don't play (i.E. Fortnite). I think a lot of people only playing Games like Minecraft or eSports titles end up massively overspending.
With this sort of super low-end cards, texture quality AND play resolution are the two things you usually need to sacrifice first. The low VRAM pool + often slow busses and buffers mean that the poor thing may be choking if it's bombarded with intense video memory taxing tasks. Yes, FSR and such are seen as the "better" alternative to running the games at lower resolution, but that 1080p is indeed still stressing the poor card more than native 720p resolution. Who knows, you might be able to crank up some other settings afterwards, like shadows or SFX. The AF should always be high-ish by default.
@@antionewalker4081 Not necessarily. If you install it in an older (PCIe gen 3) computer it won't work as well due to it being limited with the x8 bandwidth on the card. In a newer machine (with PCIe gen 4) it would perform much better.
It's kind of nuts how well old/cheap cards handle games nowadays. Really removes most reason to always stay up to date and get the best card. Personally haven't even moved from 1080p yet and still looks/runs great.

This and the FirePro W5100 are the best $30-40 GPUs on the market currently. The Quadro is a bit more powerful but only supports DX12 feature 11.0, while the FirePro supports 11.1. So while the Quadro still has driver support, it doesn't really matter because you aren't using it to play any AAA new releases moving forward and is likely to lose driver support in a few months anyway. The last drivers for the W5100 are relatively recent. Lossless Scaling can help these budget GPUs run games at resolutions and framerates they otherwise couldn't. I used the app to play FH4 for over 100 hours at 1440p60 on a GTX 670 and was blown away by what Lossless Scaling can do (including frame gen on games that don't support it). Fun fact, the W5100 is basically an XBox One/One S GPU equivalent. The W5100 has GCN 2.0 cores, whereas the Xbox One iGPU uses GCN 1.0 cores. But same core count and the performance difference between GCN 1.0 and 2.0 cores is negligible. The R7 360 uses the same die as the W5100 and performs pretty much the same but only has 2GB VRAM.
Something like this that could do AV1 with the unlocked nVidia drivers for Plex in Unraid would be a god send. I've got a Tesla P4 in there now but, god I miss single slot!
You can put a card like this into a cheap prebuilt with anemic psu and no airflow and give it to a neighbor's kid to play Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox etc. I'd prefer it if it was a low profile card, so I could plop it into a cheap living room Batocera machine, but it's not bad like this either.

If it is supported by actual drivers - it's definitely worth it. But I choose to play with the A380 :) it's LP, but dual slot wo external power. With this type of cards there is Radeon 6400, ARC380 and RTX3050 6gb with more ore less reasonable price. 3050 is fastest, but it's NVIdia, so I choose Intel to try. Are you kidding me? I watched one on the used market, and picked it up on sunday... 😂 For 10€. I looked for something cheap, no 6pin, and more powerful than a GT740/GTX650. I think it suits the box well.
A single slot and low power GPU like that but with a bit more power like something around the level of a 1050Ti is something I've been searching around for but sadly the only Quadros in my area are either really expensive (i.e. Quadro M4000 costs as much as a brand new GTX1650) or are quite old and weak (i.e. K420, K2000, FX1800, etc.)
I play GTA 5 on my Lenovo T530 ThinkPad using the built in HD4000 GPU. I am able to get 25-30 FPS using medium presets and windowed game settings on 16 GB RAM with the i5 3230m CPU.
I know what you mean but other people might look at you funny. There were different builds of HD4000 and most people got the weakest. We got the same HD4000 build as the Mac computers got that can use up to 2.16GB of Vram not the 512MB at most gimped variety. My business laptop has a 3110m and I play Metro Last Light smooth.
Random question (not in HD): Thoughts on the Lossless Scaling app? It's no replacement for DLSS but I find it's NIS and LS1 options nicer than FSR, and the integer scaling is useful for some things... Frame generation meh but it is nice to use on those 60FPS locked games where you can guarantee a high frametime stability...
you could do an emulator test for this card especially the demanding emulator. it would give us ideas of what to look for, in order to built a cheap emulator system. it will be much appreciated
Cards like this are perfect candidates for the vram modders.. instead of rx580 or 1080ti vram mods this card could actually make use of the extra memory!! So instead of it being a 2gb card you could make it a 4gb card and it would actually be utilised especially in games with big texture packs.. it won't make it a RTX 4060 but it will definitely make it better than this..
Check out the tesla k10. Running it with a regjstry mod to enable microsoft hybrid graphics (usually just for laptops with igpu and dgpu) It is exactly a quadro k5000 or a gtx690 for pretty cheap
How does this compare to a console, say PS4? The cost to put together a budget system with this card would probably still end up the same as a used PS4 (I'm guesstimating about £70) so how does image quality and fps compare? Obviously a PC is more flexible but if you just want to play games I'm genuinely curious
This one is about 110 dolars in Brazil. Funny, because you can get a rx580 8 gbs for 115 dollars or a rx 6600 for 220 dollars. Unless it's a gt210, a gpu in Brazil will never be less than 100 dollars

@@robertkubrick3738 with shared RAM and VRAM I have 2.17 GB total VRAM which isn't too bad for a PC that cost a grand total of $0.00.
Random question (not in HD): Thoughts on the Lossless Scaling app? It's no replacement for DLSS but I find it's NIS and LS1 options nicer than FSR, and the integer scaling is useful for some things...
Frame generation meh but it is nice to use on those 60FPS locked games where you can guarantee a high frametime stability...
not sure if you answer these questions but how old are your dogs they look so cute
you could do an emulator test for this card especially the demanding emulator. it would give us ideas of what to look for, in order to built a cheap emulator system. it will be much appreciated
the majority of cs players play cs2 on 4:3 (1280x960) stretched, i think u should also be testing it in that resolution.
Finally. A card that can somewhat run an NES emulator. Is running gameboy advance emulators possible on this GPU if I overclock it? Thanks
Love the k2200, 4gb gtx 560
Should list the GPU name in the description now so that people looking up this GPU can find it.
What's the sausage dog's name? That's a new addition
It's a mostly 720p card, which works well for sub-40" TVs at a normal distance or romote playing to a laptop or phone.
There was a brief moment in time when this was a reasonable use case.
It is a great card for a cheap / child's first pc. Drop it into almost any system and learn how to play with kb and mouse.
Check out the tesla k10. Running it with a regjstry mod to enable microsoft hybrid graphics (usually just for laptops with igpu and dgpu)
It is exactly a quadro k5000 or a gtx690 for pretty cheap
How does this compare to a console, say PS4? The cost to put together a budget system with this card would probably still end up the same as a used PS4 (I'm guesstimating about £70) so how does image quality and fps compare? Obviously a PC is more flexible but if you just want to play games I'm genuinely curious
If your vision is as blurry as in that COD clip, I think you would've got a medical discharge from the military
opinion on hydro dipping a gpu?
man, how do you find out about these obscure GPUs?
This one is about 110 dolars in Brazil. Funny, because you can get a rx580 8 gbs for 115 dollars or a rx 6600 for 220 dollars. Unless it's a gt210, a gpu in Brazil will never be less than 100 dollars
From the thumbnail, I was expecting a Quadro M2000. Costs a bit more, but it’s a power-limited GTX 950 bumped up to 4gb VRAM.
Today we're looking at two very good boys
New doggo... 🤔
that means girlfriend in the zone 😜
also less reviews 😔
I bet those two doggos can run faster than that card
Check out the p2200. I did a video on it a year or 2 ago. Its basically a 1650 with 5gb vram
What about doing one of those ilegal SLI?
A Bad Start is a good song name for Lady Gaga
