Très heureux de votre retour Paul. Vous étiez ma chaîne préférée ! J'espère que vos soucis sont terminés. Je suis réellement impatient de vous suivre à nouveau. Merci de vos partages.
Thanks for the post mate ... You and Smith are the only ones I so love to watch ... Honest, up to date info. I'm so sorry you had these life issues (Flooding), interfere with your life goals. Ken, Australian Airbrush Co. "Thunder Down Under" ....
Thanks Paul. I am going to do some experiments now re grit mesh and sandblaster pressure to work out what's best. Up until now I have been using 120 grit garnet and 120psi. Works OK but I will now lower the pressure and see what happens.
I'm sorry, but one unrelated question. Etching with hydrofluoric acid requires mica. Is there anything else that comes into consideration instead of mica and can you explain a little about it. Of course, thanks for a lot of ideas and great work.
Gotta love the Good bye video. and on April fools day you bust out a video. You need to keep the videos coming man. 😂 Go ahead and slow down making them. But your a true craftsmen and artist always keeps learning and keeping your skills sharp. Best of Luck
I have 0 idea what heat is needed for the chipping process... But I was wondering, would an electric blanket not be any use, or is that way too low a temp?
Those fern bits are so nice looking! When you score the letters, are you doing every sharp angle (like inside the E), or just the outsides of the lettering into the main area? I’ve decided the best way for me to produce a piece is to win the contest, give you my design, have you mail the finished piece back, and hang it on my wall! 😂.
Cheers Ted! I just score the sharp angles on the outside. How about, if you win the contest I do your design just past the sandblasting stage, then you can do the glue chipping, gilding and painting 😎
I did 2 glasses on top of each other with the art deco ‘BAR’ sign. Looked really nice. I’ve retired from YT now so the triple layer piece will be one that got away :)
@@SetDirector unfortunately it costs me considerably more to run the channel than I make back from it. I tried to make a go of it but it’s just too niche a subject to be popular, so I’ll never make anything from it. I’m happy that I’ve made 100 videos for people to find, so hopefully they continue to encourage people to give it a try 😎
@@happygilder I thought you were doing it as a hobby, if you want to make a living from it, the next profession is lighting and advertising manufacturer.
@@SetDirector glass work is my hobby and always will be, I’m just not making videos about it anymore. I enjoyed it while it lasted and am proud to have helped people with the craft, but video editing isn’t something I particularly enjoy. Hopefully someone else will pick up where I left off, because there are some amazing glass artists on the Facebook group so maybe one of them will start a channel 😀🤞
Another brilliant, simple easy-to-follow video. Thanks for all the entertainment and knowledge, much appreciated.
Thanks for the new technique. How much temperature should I control for the glue chipping !

Lovely 🐕, glad to see you back😊
Thank you! Sadly this is an older video that I made before I decided to quit. So I'm still retired :)
Thanks for yours vidéos Paul.
I've made my first sign this weekend.
That's awesome to hear!!! 🙏

I use a reptile heat mat for my chipping.
It's always helpful to see you try different techniques, it really cuts down the time that I spend on my own test 👍👍
Thanks Herve, I'm glad you found it useful! I really think that spiked roller will work on a larger piece, so I'm going to do more tests :)
Bonus video!!! Great stuff here! Glue chipping for me has been a do what you can and hope for the best🤣

Amazing personality and highly recommended videos - thanks for your inspiration and and maybe you can get back to travellers again 😎👍✨🏆
Cheers mate!! 🍻
Glad to see a new video and that you are back. Great job on chipping.
Glad you enjoyed it! However this isn’t a new vid, just one that was exclusive to Patreon.
Man I love your work and I'm learning a lot from you I'm from Romania and this kind of knowledge is unknown here
Thank you, I'm really glad you're enjoying the vids!

Nice work Paul. I like the nice fern shapes you got. Cheers.

@@happygilder so am I,I hope you find something to keep you busy, btw love your new Kitchen
Glad to see you
thanks for your video
I was wondering why my attempt at chipping didn't work ... I used 80 grit at 60psi. Thanks for the insight and video!
Love it

Hey Happy Gilder, you haven't released any vids in a while... is everything OK?
I’m fine thanks :)
I retired from TH-cam after my house flooded at the beginning of the year
@@happygilder I'm so sorry about your house. I'm happy you're alive! Was worried so thank you for letting me know! All the best to you HG!!!

Did you experience that thinner glue makes smaller chips?
Too bad you still haven't made my suggestion, I had the idea to make three glasses on top of each other 3D effect. 🙂👍

Can you glue chip glass then use the silver nitrate process to make it mirrored?
@@lrngoodman you can indeed. In my video about making a mirror I use a piece of glue chipped glass at the end :)
@@happygilder thanks!
