    I know you guys say it all the time: "we didn't want to go overboard on this car" but you guys can't help yourselves ;) The wheel well/ducts, the relay cover, the upper bumper valance piece. I just want to commend you guys for always building top-notch vehicles, never forgetting the important details. It's those details that set you guys apart from the rest, every time! Kudos fellas!

    Have the same turbo kit and had to put on a bigger fuel pressure damper to make mine run better in the low rev range. I can also send over my map for you to compare also on a haltech. Also i found that the turbo and engine like 1.9 bar. V/R Jank

    Had a similar issue when mine was being tuned. The Aem smart coils did the trick, but as always could be a plethora of things.

    Wish we didn't get the abbreviated build on this one, it deserved a full build series. Great car! I'm building a 99 FD right now with similar parts list.

    I reckon it could be the transition from the primary to the secondary injectors, that is causing your break up, seems about the right place in the rpm range for this. They are very tricky to transition right.

    • @MelonTL_YH2
      @MelonTL_YH2 ปีที่แล้ว

      so off the cuff, what do you think it could be. some people mentioned the switch from primary to secondary injectors or fuel damper

    • @RGHTBrainDesignDrive
      @RGHTBrainDesignDrive ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@MelonTL_YH2 I could see it off of a log file pretty easily, but speculation without data is just a bad foot to start on. With diagnostics, I always go in with an open mind and ask a bunch of questions about where things are grounded, which spark plugs, timing at a given RPM/Load, staging location, etc. There are so many small factors that I take for granted after doing 200+ of these engines that I'd rather start with fresh eyes.

    So I'm doing a 2008 3V Bullitt Mustang for club racing, saw your vids.
    I ran Miata in SCCA and 24 hour races, I campaigned ist gen RX7 in ITA for 3 years and still own my 92 FD R1 which I used for instructing. Sweet. The FD we had air to water, then to large A2A. Good stuff guys. ( i usd 2 MSD boxes with hi power motorcycle coils up to 20lbs no issue) used Nippondenso plugs much colder fine wire.FC Datalogic did not use stock timing split.

    Oooo baby, I love keeping the stock plastics under the car and in the wheel wells for a car that's driven on the road. Such a big improvement in ride quality perspective, nose reduction and just more of a pleasure to drive.

    Your video quality is now top notch guys! You've been learning from Ben et Ben? 😃 Personally I prefer the long builds, this one felt rushed. Maybe time to increase the team and get an editor to lighten the load and have more time to do more vids? Keep digging guys, and I feel your pain with winter. From a Canuck to another.... 🇨🇦

    Under tray should have gone under the front lip. I learned that the hard way. Wind gets between the gaps and damages the strength ultimately destroying the liner and puts a lot of pressure on the front lip and front bumper.

    Regarding the missfire, which plugs was used? I saw you tried gapping, but as a matter of a fact the "propper" sparkplugs that should be used on a rotary according to Mazda is something like the NGK BUR7EQ for leading plugs and BUR9EQ for trailing which you can't gap like normal plugs. Best of luck investigating.

I am 26, halfway through an automotive apprenticeship, have two years workshop experience, and would love to learn more about wheel alignments/tuning/setting up a car for circuit racing/time attack. Any recommendations on which province/city would be best to live in to find a job in the industry would be greatly appreciated! Cheers
