  • China unveiled the largest, highest-level, and most structurally complex tomb from the ancient state of Chu on Tuesday. Dating back 2,200 years and located in Huainan, Anhui Province, the Wuwangdun tomb has yielded over 1,000 artifacts including bronze wares, daily utensils, and musical instruments. The tomb, looted multiple times in history, underwent a salvage excavation that started from 2020. Its grandeur and scale lead to speculation that the tomb's owner might have been King Kaolie of Chu during the late Warring States Period (475-221 BC), though the owner’s identity remains to be confirmed.
Spanning over 140 square kilometers, the Wuwangdun complex includes a main burial chamber (Tomb No.1), chariot and horse pits, accompanying graves, and sacrificial pits. Tomb No.1 features burial chambers arranged in a cross shape with eight side chambers around a central one, each covered with four layers of planks. Around 1,000 ink-drawn characters were found on the coffin lid planks, indicating the positions and functions of each side chamber.
The effort sheds light on construction techniques of large-scale tombs during the late Warring States Period.

Go to Szechuan or Chongqing and you will be shocked to see that there is more varieties of Kimchi than the one you find in Korea. 🤭Historical records show that Kimchi has existed at least 500 years ago in China. Korean and Japanese monks came to China and they saw things and took them home.
