  • One of my good friends recently let know know of a small collection of classic cars he was potentially buying which had been Left In a barn for many many years… after the owner sadly passed away and the cars were being sold at an auction & my friend was hopeful to buy them. The cars Included a very rare Mk1 Ford Capri, Land Rover Defender with a genuine 2000 miles on the clock, a Rover 213 SE and another Land Rover (which sadly wasnt al good but still very rare!!)
And he made a very genuine offer Im please to say he has bought the cars and they are bow being saved! 😁 stay tuned for some future videos coming soon!! 🤞🏽

We all think the same when we see cars abandoned, shouldn’t be outside or even be left there etc, but the truth is things get in the way of life sometimes and usually the owners had good intentions. I parked a car in my garage in October 2015 and it was only meant to be there three months, well it’s still there now. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It'd be great to find out the chassis number on the Capri and the Series III, from one of the earliest Capris to probably one of the last Series Landies. Judging by the mileage and the tax disc, it must have only been in use for a few months. The Rover SD3 is a very rare spec too, the 213SE was automatic transmission only and not many were produced. My parents had a 213S in the same targa red in 1987 and my first car was a base 1988 213. Such smooth cars to drive.

Things like that are always nice to find. Even if the land rover isn't mechanically fit, I'm sure if you sold it in parts, there's enough restorers out there that you could get a much larger amount for it like that. The Capri is looking pretty good, considering the age. You can choose several driveline options, depending on how much fabrication you are willing to do. A reinforced front end would probably be necessary if you don't have an aluminum block engine. Very smart looking, as well. I'm not sure about purple being the best colour, however. Great find! If all else fails, you could make a funky sculpture from all that stuff. Lol

The tractor is a Fordson Super Dexta manufactured by Ford at Dagenham between 1962 and 1964. The front end cowling damage was probably sustained over time from working on the farm clearing the crew yards. Its front end loader and tines are on their side in front of the Dexta amongst the 'junk' along with a spare rear wheel. However once restored or oily rag conserved would make good money too.

The mk1 Capri production started in November 1968. This one was registered in March 1969. So it would most likely have been made between November 1968 & January 1969. It will definitely be a very low chassis number. Cheers. Leigh. PS. The tractor is a Fordson Dexta. My Granda left me his Super Dexta 3cyl diesel. The difference between the two is the Dexta has headlamps on the side of the grille & the Super has them in the grille mesh. This one is the 2nd generation with the newer nose produced between 1961 & 1964. Mine was a 1962. Unfortunately had to sell it to buy a van.

Could be 102,000 miles. "gone around the clock". More likely they revoved the cable or it broke then never fixed. The condition of the chassis could of just be well kept, and undersealed. The "Parts" landie supports that idear.

102'000 miles on a series iii landy in that condition around the chassis. Not possible.
Plus it was only on the road for 3 years.
Registered in 1983, last taxed in 1986.
Thats 34'000 miles per year. Again unheard of in a series iii land rover. Its showing no common signs of wear on the tailgate, door hinges, wheels or wings that 102'000 miles would produce and that chassis is mint.
They rotted out on the outriggers within 7-8 years and would be covered in weld repairs.
      Ive owned several.
Trust me driving that many miles per year on leaf spring suspension you would need a good chiropractor. They were never known for comfortable ride.
It still has the original factory spec tyres too.

Most farms have these old cars and tractors. When one eventually breaks down it’s easier to buy a replacement.

Hi Colin hope your doing good.
That was one cool video. I loved seeing that red Rover. It reminds me of the Sterling that Acura Honda and Rover made for the U.S. back in the late 80s and 90s.
    Stay safe and take care.

I think the Rover outside is way past saving. Good luck to your fiend, hope he gets them. That would be neat watching the videos. Shame about the owner. Was that his house in the background? Would have like to have seen it if was his.

That is definitely restorable, all the bits are available. Just time, money and skill. Worth a lot of money now, silly money TBH.
