Ok guys! Not even joking you NEED to react to Mamamoo! They are amazing. My favorite girl group ever! They have AMAZING vocals and have a more mature vibe to them. I would recommend egotistic, yes I am, or, starry night! Thanks for the reaction ;)
Like many Korean idols and Celebrities worldwide, Mamamoo did make a racist mistake in the past. “We were extremely ignorant of blackface and did not understand the implications of our actions,” they posted. “We will be taking time to understand more about our international fans to ensure this never happens again. We hope that you will help to educate us on these and other issues so that we can become better people and better artists.” Sadly Korea is a more sheltered country And Half of the country isn’t even aware of what racism is.
Corinne G i’m glad they at least addressed the issue, hopefully they’ve managed to learn and grow from it. although blackface is a pretty big ‘mistake’ to make and then come back from imo :\ (ah it sucks that like you mentioned, so many kpop artists seem to be oblivious to the painful history and implications behind what they might think is funny- but i think it all really stems from being uneducated rather than malicious so
@@iSparkleBlue7 oh it's fine as long as they get that what they did was wrong and apologized for it, they shouldn't be cancelled for that ; plus I feel they're great artists and they should totally react to them. I love Egotistic!
The movie is La La Land. They based this music video on a lot of movies like that one and The Princess Diaries. They don’t have any boys in the video, it was the group members dressing up as boys.
Yall are overanalyzing it like its a bts vid 😂😂. Anyway the story in this mv has nothing to do with growing up. Theres 9 members. The mv just potrays them learning about love through different movies. Theres multiple references from popular movies like La La Land, leon the professional, romeo and juliet and a lot more. Theres no boys in the mv btw.

Your theories about this video are brilliant! I’ve seen it so many times and I never saw it as a coming of age story, but now that you’ve pointed out how throughout the video they get progressively “older”, I totally see it. Like, before they really know what love is, and when they only experience it from seeing it on TV, they’re young, innocent, and hopeful. But as they get older and experience it for themselves, they get hit with a rollercoaster of emotions, good and bad, and they’re no longer innocent. Love can emotionally scar you, and I think that’s why they included the clip of Jihyo crying while watching herself on the TV at 10:32. But it’s also fun and magical, as portrayed in the rest of the movie references. Throughout the video, they gain more experience with love and relationships, and at the end they’re more mature because of it. The references also follow the timeline through life (high school, college, adulthood). Y’all have great insight, and I’m not sure if you’re right or not, but I’m kinda hoping you are!

In addition to what has already been mentioned, Twice were formed from a show called Sixteen, where Sixteen JYP trainees competed for a spot in the group. Initially, the group was to be seven members, but JYP decided to add Momo, who had been eliminated earlier in the series, and Tzuyu, who had topped the public's popularity chart to make it a nine member group. They enjoyed pretty much immediate success following their debut, and didn't take long before a song had achieved #1 status in Korea, with Cheer Up. Comparisons were immediately drawn to Girls' Generation/SNSD, an older group also originally with nine members, and many perceive Twice to be SNSD's successor as 'the nation's girl group'. There are 5 Koreans, 3 Japanese and 1 Taiwanese in the group, and the Taiwanese member, Tzuyu, was a source of great controversy when she was pictured supporting the Republic of China flag. Despite this being the national flag of her home country, the Chinese government (as in, the People's Republic of China) blacklisted her from search engines and dropped several advertisements with her and the group; this in turn led to a protest in Taiwan in support of her which some 10,000 people attended, and JYP had Tzuyu make an apology video which itself due serious criticism for seeming like a hostage video more than anything else. It took a while for commercial relations to be restored with Twice and China, which of course is an enormous market for them. Many groups have Chinese members, in part to help them gain access to this market; so Tzuyu as a Taiwanese girl has been a source of sizeable tension in this regard. She is also the youngest of the group, at 19, turning 20 in June. Nayeon is the oldest at 23, turning 24 in September. They debuted in October 2015, so the girls were very young when this started, and younger still of course during the filming of Sixteen. As has been mostly said, the movies being parodied in this video are The Princess Diaries, Ghost, Pulp Fiction, La Boum, Romeo and Juliet, Love Letter, La La Land and Leon. Dahyun's rap part is intended to be like a commercial break. The overall theme of the song is about how love is portrayed on TV or film and the extent to which love is actually like how it is shown; and if they can really learn about it just from watching portrayals of it/how they wish they could feel it themselves to see how those characters are really feeling. As with most groups, it would be cool to see you react to their songs starting from the beginning to see their progression. Their debut is Like Ooh Ah; I'd love to see that as your next foray into Twice. Keep up the good work boys, you're making great content here for us kpop nerds.
The main idea of the music video is just "Love" basically. All the costumes and acting you see while they are in the TV is references to famous Movies or Dramas. Some shown are La La Land, Romeo and Juliet, etc.
So basically the theme of this video is them watching themselves reenact famous/iconic romantic scenes from famous movies. And every “boy” in this video is actually another member of the group dressed as a boy lol😂 There’s not one male in this video!😂😂
Yess I agree with u when u said that it could be an anime theme song like I’ve seen amv and it looks super real like it should be a theme song of an anime
The music video is of them re-enacting scenes from famous movies: • “GHOST”featuring Patrick Swayze • “PULP FICTION” ft John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson • “La La LAND” • “Romeo and Juliet” • “Princess diaries” • and two other movies( one was a French film and the other I believe was a Japanese teen romance movie)
In the beginning of the song the say that they see love in books and movies but they’ve never experienced it so they are wondering what love is while watching classic romantic movies or like chick flicks such as Lala Land and The princess diaries (the part where they are at school) and they want to know what it feels like to fall in love so they are anticipating it and want to experience I think they are trying to represent young girls cause that what we girls tend to dream of while we are growing, idk if I’m explaining myself correctly, English is not my first language so it’s quite hard to explain but I hope you will read this and understand. Love the reactions, keep going
"What is Love" M/V is them projecting themselves into their favourite movies (At least for the M/Vs sake). Fun fact: All the lead actors used in all the movie shots are members of Twice dressed up, even the guys!. Definitely react to more Twice! Of their M/Vs my favourites are "Likey" and "TT"! They have a lot of comebacks including a very recent one "Yes or Yes" (Which has a fantastic mini album along with it!) and a few months before that was "Dance the Night Away". They are one of if not the most popular/successful girl groups right now in South Korea, and it's with good reason!
There are many movie references in this Music Video. A lot of them are Asian Movies but The School girl who transforms into a beautiful girl, is "Princess Diaries" Reference

5.54 the movie/musical your talking about is Lalaland and if I understand the mv correctly its like little girls trying to figure out what love is through movies and kdramas but I can be wrong to:)
They're young but not THAT young. Their oldest is Nayeon (the first girl to sing) is 23 and their youngest (the second girl in the chorus and the one dressed as a guy in the Lala land scene) is 19. I do remember when Tzuyu and Chaeyoung were about 15 tho lmao how time flys. Blackpink's oldest member is older than Twice's oldest but their two youngest are younger than like half of the Twice members. Oh yeah i dont know if you realised but there were no actual guys in this. It was all the girls acting out the love scenes. Also some background into Twice. In early 2015 their company (JYP) created a reality survival show called sixteen in which 16 of their female trainees competed to become Twice. So yeah thats how the group was formed.
The music video makes a whole bunch of movie references by the way Some are La La land and Princess diaries so most of the scenes are parodies of movie scenes. The "guy" by the way was one of the girls dressed as a guy, lol.
Y’all are totally off on what u think is happening. 😂😂💀Them watching the TV is them watching romantic movies and learning about love. That’s why it’s called What Is Love and why in the begging they sit around the tv. No one is getting older. The scenes keep changing into different movie references about love like that play u didn’t know the name of LA LA LAND. That high school is a movie reference too😂.

LMAO YES we do know hat you are talking about, LALA Land💜💜 Ous, it's at 6:26
Twice's music videos are so happy happy and lovely I lob Twice 💖
The music video makes a whole bunch of movie references by the way
Some are La La land and Princess diaries so most of the scenes are parodies of movie scenes.
The musical Westside Story. Good job Ous, but did you also see references to the movies Ghost and Pulp Fiction?
