Before Blackpink I wasn't into k-pop. Hardly heard it. When Coachella 2023 was on, seeing Blackpink as the main event, I gave the chance to watch it. Best decision ever. Loved the performance , the dancing, their voices, how they all have completely different styles but go perfectly well together and how many people are attending to see them is just insane. I literally became a blink within an hour of watching their Coachella performance. The opening song was Pink Venom, it was AWESOME!!
These girls definitely changed K-pop, they don't seem like your basic just another kpop group, they seem bigger than k-pop honestly. More like K-BOOM because their beats and vocals and dances just hit in the best way and can't get enough of it. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes pink venom is my fav song I mean all their songs are fire but from the moment pink venom was released until now I didn't remove this song from my Playlist I'm obsessed with this song since the second time I heard it.. Especially Jennie's parts they all slayed

3 years ago, when all my friends were gushing about kpop, i was under the impression kpop was all about being cute and stuff. my brain went full 180 when i started listening to blackpink. They are just full badass with sweet personalities behind the scene. They got me into kpop. I tried to listen to other groups but no one can contest. 2NE1, Bigbang, Babymonsters (their little sisters in the agency), Treasure (brothers from the same agency), and Straykids do come second. I hope you listen to more of them! 🎉
Edit: Blackpink's bop songs are trullllyyy bops but once you get to know them and what they went through (they get a lot of hate from other fandoms) listen to You Never Know, The Happiest Girl, then Tally. 😊

I’m a 53 yo American male who likes stuff like Depeche Mode, Rap, Rock etc with a 15 yo daughter that pushed this on me. Once I looked and listened I was hooked. Saw them in LA in November and going to Vegas next month to see them again. They are AWESOME live.

If you want to see something really cool with language, do a reaction to the MV for Whistle and then in the same video react to the JAPANESE MV version of the same song. It’s wild how they are so great with languages. The raps in the Japanese version are entirely in English and are different from the raps in the regular version! Hardly any reactors are doing this, and since you were so impressed with their language skills, I think you would really enjoy it.
You should also definitely check out Pink Venom, How You Like That, and Shut Down. But please wait on Shut Down until you’ve seen a handful of their other music videos, because the MV for Shut Down has a ton of references to all their previous videos, and you’ll appreciate it more after you’ve seen the older ones. Shut Down is awesome and my personal favorite.
You should also check out the Japanese versions of the songs you watched in this video. You will love the edgy English raps.

You might not like it, but it was their first #1 single, had ten million views within 5 days of release, and won the Music Video of the Year award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. The MV has more than 800 million views. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean other people aren't allowed to like it either.

im not even a Kpop fan but Kpop is so dope honestly, and ive learnt a lot about it recently. like one thing about Kpop compared to American singers is that nowadays, like Nicki Minaj also said, people don't get popular for their voices like they used to, but because of their popularity or their looks, but Kpop idols. they got thru millions of auditions and practice so hard every single day while being on hard diets, dancing and singing hours a day. that's why they're so good even if they JUST debuted. ANNDDD each Kpop group is so well balanced, even if its like 12 people, some are good at English, some amazing dancers, some mazing rapper and some good singers.
Korean mix so very well with Eng. & its a smart way to hook ya into singing along 🙂

as a person who knew nothing about their company (YG) and just listened to their music since their debut, i really just did not ever expect this sort of comeback. i remember actually being SHOOK when this song first came out because it hit so hard, but also i was stunned that it became so huge. that’s when i realized how big they were going to become. i was none the wiser back then 😂

If you keep doing multiple MV in one shot, you will eventually watch all of there MV within 5-6 shots. which is not a bad thing, I want you to see all of the MV and the LIVE stage performances, BlackPink are the Biggest Girl Group Today because they perform well, put out great MV and Dance Performances.
But I think the "B" side songs which do not have MV are just at good if not better than others.

You need someone to explain to you this k-pop culture. My girls listened to them for years and they told me there's a before and after Boombayah era, this song changed everything. In Korea they have school where people spend years training in hope to be selected and make a debut in a group or solo. My girls showed my a couple of songs and now I'm hooked. Their dedication to their job is limitless, most of the song have Music Video, choreography teaching, reaction to 1st view etc...
