"35 year i served here ,this is my home!" is from an actual guy who is for real. He had his family on that day ,and his wife and kid were killed too. But, he was on floor helping guests and others to escape from the hotel. He is alive,, we get to see him on TV on 26/11memorial day. Also others who r draumatized by the act. It's not only Taj hotel which was attackez that night ,but mumbai's busiest Railway station, hosptial ,a jewish synagogue, cafe too come under attack. Our local policeman died fighting empty handed and hia partner caught one terrorist alive' Ajmal Kasab of Let group from Pakisthan. 3 top police cop died in gun battle along constables. More than 130 innocents lost their life 2 Americans including. Pak is still indenial. No action was taken against the terrorist group. They r roaming free and r fighting in elections r now part of the Govt there.

when 15 people were killed in Paris newspaper office attack, all world leaders gathered to hold a protest and solidarity march in Paris streets. When 300 odd people killed in Mumbai, not sure everyone even know about it. Hard truth is that world is immensely racist, and white mans life carries more value.

That door scene is actually very real. The scene where the man almost open's the door. It was one of the moment's that was all over the new globally because it was captured from that exact same angle by security camera's.
Edit: that guy that said "this is my home" is real. His family was killed that day while he helped save many more innocent people.

@Adam Smith I think he overstated by using the term 'America' instead of American Media . As long as i can remember 9/11 was covered extensively everywhere including India .But for an American to not know about 26/11 is shameful because David Headley was a double agent from Amercia (FYI) . And i know how badly the news of 26/11 was covered in america .The media is to be blamed for that . Even the americans know how bad their media is . Recently they went gaga over Beyonce performing in an Indian wedding and every american was tweeting about it for 2 weeks . But they don't know about 26/11 .Isn't that bad news for the world that a major country like america doesn't cover world terrorism . Why are they so crazy about only a handful of things like Hollywood fix, Middle east and Gillete ads

26/11 is not India's 9/11 rather 9/11 is Paris's 26/11 because 9/11 took place at just 1 place whereas 26/11 took place at 4 different places. Moreover the intensity was also huge.

The attacks didn't just Happen in taj hotel. In started at chatrapti Shivaji train station,a busy area, many people were going back home by train. Many we're killed. The terrorists killed many civilians n police in roads too. Then they went to taj hotel, oberoi hotel and nauriman House and it took 2/3 days worth encounter . Situation came under control after Nsg commandos came. I remember so many people were calling news channels to know if their loved one trapped inside the hotel have been rescued.people hid in cupboards, some jumped from Windows to save life. Hotel stuffs did a lot to rescue the guests. In nauriman house which is mainly residentof Jewish people , the mom n dad of a Jewish baby was killed n he was orphaned. Many many people died. The terrorists we're Pakistani who came through sea route.

Only after Paris Western World realised how dangerous is that terror attack. Infact Mumbai terror attack 26/11 is worst attack than the Paris attack IMO. But world didn't care much, India were addressing every where to fight terror.

The attacks took place across Mumbai not just the hotel, but the terrorists held siege there for 3 days. I have not seen this yet and like you will do, but from what I remember (this happened in 2008 I think), more staff died in the hotel attack than guests. Apparently the would bang pots and pans together to draw the terrorists toward them if they saw the attackers heading in the direction of where guests were hiding. These heroics were by some of the poorest people serving some of richest. They gave up their lives from the reputation of the hotel, the city and for India. For me, this is why I think this story needs to be told. Yes, it has been told in documentaries but I see no one reacting or discussing those.

The staff helped guests to go out and then came back inside many times ...
They could have gone away from the hotel but they chose to help guests because they knew the hotel better...
This has a research video upon this psychology of those staff members... most were from small towns but their values were angelic....

There is another trailer for this movie without a dialogue. You must watch that too, a simple music used there is so so so intense.

None of the staff members ran away even when they knew every exit door. They helped the guests first and then they escaped. Still many people died.

Don't know about key being inserted in keyhole but there was a big hall where lots of people were hiding.
And people trying to escape through kitchen backdoor is also true but sadly in that particular escape employees were killed as they got caught midway
