And always, always remember to check the side stand is still down.
I saw someone do this and forgot they had raised the side stand for some reason and dropped the bike against a wall. The bastard thing was in such a bad position it had to be dragged away from the wall before we could lift it back up. No crash bugs either, lots of scratches. He was not happy with himself.

Taking it off I always put my foot under the stand wheel and both hands on the bars push it forward and off. If you need to do shock work, flip the footpegs and use two axle stands. These SV650s felt so top heavy and unwieldy, always made me nervous putting it on and off the stand.

I seriously don't recommend doing it this way. Bike can still be wobbly, standing behind it is not where you want to be. Let the bike rest on the stand, approach it from the left and place your hips close to it (so it can't turn over), place the paddock stand on your left hook and slowly push the bike over - you grab the tail with one hand and start pressing the paddock stand once it hits the second loop, that way in case anything happens (gust of wind for example), you're still holding your bike with one hand and have your hips on the other side.

All well and good. But what if the bike doesn't have bobbins???

      2 options:
      1. Install bobbins on your bike. Most bikes have attachments to accept bobbins.
      2. Get a paddock stand that lifts from your swing arm. They make paddock stands for bikes that have both double and single swingarms.
