Do you think hypercasuals hinder the games industry in terms of design? Stripping the art form down to it's bare bones really rubs me the wrong way. I realize there is a lot of money to be made in this space but a lot of us jump into game dev not just for the money but also because we really want to make fun experiences that last with people.
I think that there's a place for all kinds of game genres and platforms; hypercasual design is definitely much 'lighter' than even casual game design, but it is what it is. There will always be different ends of the spectrum of games as regards complexity and difficulty, and it's a good idea to accept it.
