I feel like Marshallers are the unsung heroes of every airport. They work hard in rain, sleet, shine, and snow. They endure extreme heat and cold, loud and dangerous environments. Along with maintenance crews and ATCs, they make air travel possible.
Ever herd of the baggage loaders? They fit your description a lot more. A Marshal will be at the gate for minutes, baggage loader’s carry heavy bags all day long in all weathers and never gets mentioned.
@@olelaustsen8657 I thought about applying for that job years ago at my local airport. It didn't pay enough but I am an AV geek, so it might have been a cool experience. I ended up taking a different job though.
Student pilot here, thank you Rampman! Best resource i've seen for this even more than my expensive courses! One day when I am flying I will always remember your help!
Thanks I’m only eight years old. This video is really valuable. I really want to be an aircraft Marshall guy or when I grow up kind of just like what you do
Great job Rampman. Retired last year from my ramp job of 35 years. Thanks for sending me down memory lane. I love being retired but I miss my old airport gig a bit. I hope you have a good long & safe career. Thanks
You are most welcome William Scott. I am glad that you liked my video and brought you some good ol memories in the ramp. Salute to you sir, my fellow ramper 😊
Very accurate information. This is one of the reason I just Aviation. It has a universal law or procedures, from country to country, from continent to continent.
1:42 the technique of directing aircraft left, and right works best with airlines where the marshaller is very familiar with the aircraft capability. However, in business aviation with multiple types of aircraft and different crews, it’s often best to use the point up and straight ahead method. This allows the crew to line up the aircraft on your position by their own means.
Very well done !, very professional, & clear cut - THANK YOU (from retired U.S. Navy Aviation Petty Officer, now working an Aviation Museum's Flightline, as a Volunteer) We have prop airplanes & occasional "Warbirds"
Wow! Amazing job you have right now seeing these wasbirds everyday. To me that’s a dream job 😀 Thank you sir for the positive review on this video..i am so grateful for all your support
WOW, nice share. Thankyou for sharing the video, very informative and easy to understand, it's help a lot when we do pushback during bad weather such thunderstorm or when we lost signal from ground headset. Thankyou sir 👍
Hey Rampman :) I was wanting to contact you via e-mail, but couldn't find any :( Would it be okay if I use parts of your video in my upcoming explanation video? Would be highly appreciated and will obviously mention your name in the video and description! All the best! Joe PS: By the way what music is this? So cool! Could you send me the link of that song?
Wow! Thank you so much Captain Joe for noticing my video. I am a fan of yours, I think I was your subscriber years ago. I really love your contents, I learned a lot from you. Good day Rampman! It is a great marshalling reference video I really like the detail provided in your video. I currently work providing internal training for an aviation company: could I be able to use sections of your video as reference and internal training material? Thanks in advance.
I have a dream to work as a marshaller please cheer me up so I can be like you !! Your video is very interesting to me, a layman who just found out about marshaller
Hey this video helped me a lot in my Aircraft Structures Program... I think it would be very helpful if you add timestamps on the signals for the video!
Hi Rampman i have a question where do you guys get your headphones like the earplugs i really need a stuff like that in me life like seriously, please don't misunderstand me with all due respect to you and your career 🙌
Yes i think so..other marshallers prefer other techniques. But, the important thing is that no matter what technique you use, as long you are sending the correct message that the pilot can understand, then it is fine..
Hey Rampman :) Greetings from Seoul, Korea. I have a quick question regarding using of your video clip. Would it be a-okay if I edit your video clip and post my Instagram to introduce a marshalling signal for my friends?
You dont need a special degree to learn marshalling. If you work in the airport, you will somehow learn it from either your colleagues or someone in the ramp then you begin to practice it.
They could probably tell us where to buy the best high-visibility vests, ear protection, and related equipment. Because even though most of us do not marshal aircraft, ee might have a need.
