I've been using the M60 pretty much from the start of the game as well but I haven't been using the ranged scope like you have, just the red dot sight. It's been my favourite gun in pretty much all the Far Cry games. I've just purchased the M249 and am testing it out to see which one I like better. I'll definitely be getting that ranged scope for the M60 now after watching this video.
An amazing thing about this game (in comparison to Far Cry 3) is that you are not punished as harshly for going loud. I think we can all admit that there is something extraordinary about mowing down outposts with LMGs and explosives. I was always worried about making noise in Far Cry 3. In this game, I just take out alarm boxes with silenced sniper, and then unload Hell onto outposts with my M60 and it’s incredible haha. Sometimes I don’t even worry about the alarms. Just so I can cause even more carnage. Great game 👍🏻.
I did a loud and proud playthrough, no silent weapons, no crouching. I went through outposts and let them call reinforcements. More enemies, more fun. Except for some missions where you need to keep undetected to avoid hostages dying.
Thanks! I absolutely love this game and glad I discovered the series. I've been using the M60 for a few days now and love it. I love that golden-like color that you have on yours. I have one of the scopes on mine but I might upgrade to the most expensive 1 I think. I don't worry too much about money in the game because I'm takin my time doing lots of fishing and hunting animals for their skins and then doing the side quests for more money. I'm in no hurry to finish this game and taking my time and absolutely loving it. It's worth it to get all the perk points that you can also and then you can carry even more weapons. If I had to choose just one weapon, I would choose the M60. Mine also has a silencer and I can get some badd a** stealth fighting done with this period in the beginning of the game o's get my a** kickef because I didn't have a good silencer or scope. This has made all the difference. Can't wait to get home after work today and annihilate some Peggy's!

the m60 is technically a general purpose machine gun, the m249 saw is actually closer to a light machine gun (even if it can also be callsified as squad automatic weapon)
When it comes to machine guns what the military classifies them by is usage. The term general purpose machine gun refers to weapons that can fill both the light and medium machine gun role. When it's carried by a soldier or used with a bipod it's a LMG. When it's mounted on a tripod or pintle mount it's a medium machine gun.
Hey my friend I also found out early that the M60 was my bread and butter on this game. You're on point with the perks added with everything else you've mentioned. I completed this game and going to challenge the M60 on Hard mode. This is a great video my friend.
I agree. This is very probably the best all around weapon of the game. You can now everything and everyone down. I also put a he sound surpressor. And with the biggest scope you can do some silent sniping. And even hold your breath while aiming. Plus, with the perk for reloading, it speed things up. The other weapon that is similar to this and that I recommend is the M249.
I feel as if I don't really need a sniper rifle in my other slot when I have this thing, and I can tell you that I love sniper rifles, so that's a big statement.
The M60? I just picked it up off a heavy guy, and when I went to a shop it was there in its section, available. But it seems that the weapon has to be available at the time for that to work - I picked up an MBP .50 elsewhere but that didn't unlock in the shop, presumably as my resistance level isn't high enough yet. I got the SA-50 though as the featured version is available right away, you just have to get enough money for it.
Good shit! I’ve been using a silenced sniper with same scope and leaves you open to die so often in a game like this unless you’re very stealthy and even then there’s so many random encounters you can’t always count on stealth in this game. Austin Cornett I only silenced sniper for Outpost only. Remaing part I was using a ak47 modded and the doomsday pistol. Sometimes for shits and giggles I used grenade launcher
using silenced sniper pretty much always , a shotgun for fun and a Lightmachine gun / assault rifle ... but my favorite has to be sniper , taking out whole bases without people knowing were i am , and when i want to do it upclose i use trowing knifes or melee

I'm not surprised to find this video, as I'm running the exact same setup. I realized early on with a red dot that I could snipe pretty efficiently with the M60 so I tried the long rage scope (which really has shitty range for a "long range" scope) but it just works. I have a feeling it'll get nerfed in a future update.
Once you liberate Dutch's Island, head to the Pillars of Eden, just across the river in Faith's Region, and you will find the M60 on a rock before you come into view of the 2 Peggies and a hostage. It beats trying to find one by looting a truck (I tend to find mostly flame throwers and rocket launchers in the loot trucks)
Now i have the d2 sin Eater i use m60, Recurve Bow, and either rat 4 when i want to have fun with planes and helicopters or any vehicle, boat etc Or the best sniper rifle. Then i have something for every situation. I like to swap guns thigh add i find it more fun than just using one gun.
I managed to get this gun very early on, along with the RPG. By the time I unlocked rifles like the MS-16 & some of the. 50 sniper rifles, they were already obsolete. 600 rounds of sniper rifle/assault rifle ammo depending on how you use it. My load out through nearly the entire game was the M60, RPG, & MAC-10.

I have Bight most guns on the game, well all prestige and the good rifkes and i have been using this gun exclusively recently and it's awesome. If you choose right perks and have armour piercing it's great at taking out vehicles and drivers through any metal plus the engine block.

Zachary Starling I know. I happen to be pretty sufficient with the bow, but the 1911 carries a lot more ammunition and fires off rounds a lot faster. Plus if you slap a silencer, extended mags, and armor piercing bullets you can do the same thing. I have one 1911 with extended and no other attachment and I have one fully maxed out w/out a purchased sight.
Using Jess Black will give you 4x the amount of skins. You might need the harvest master perk for this and every so often she will use an incendiary arrow but this isn't a problem because she doesn't do it all the time. Also where do you get your crafting items for running fast? I think if you do a follow up video on this it will provide more money faster doing it this way. Thanks for the great video. So last night I tried it out last night and only 1 in 6 or 7 times she would set things on fire. The rest of the time it was 4x skins. I was able to farm in about half the time. Another note if you haven’t cleared the area planes keep coming to kill you while you farm at the farm. Couldn’t resist saying that last part.
I completed most of it just 3 side quests to go so no problem i hate it when a ally shoots the animal im trying to kill or maybe there dog takes the bait i kill em all
This is one thing I love about Far Cry. They don't shy away from offering OP af "game-breaking" weapons. The game truly takes the attitude of "do whatever the hell you want."
I've noticed I ALWAYS get attention with my .50 Sniper even silenced. But this beast or the M249? Nope. Totally silent. Plus it's a monster. Miss? No whup. Keep shooting in small bursts for amazing accuracy and damage.
My favourite one is the AR DMR , it's been a long time ago when I played this game (have to come back to it ;D) it has much less rounds in mag but the reload it's almost instant , it's real good in long range engagments. But as I said , everything is traded for accuracy and damage, so high recoil . But still I think it's the best one , or at least the most fun one to play. Well, it might be outclassed with Vector in this category , but it's bullet velocity is much worse )
I played as sniper with .50 rifle. There were two of those one with bolt actiona and another with semi-auto. I actually, prefered bolt action. It had bigger damage. And I loved to one-shot planes and helicoptes pilots. Recalled me scene in MGS5 where enemy pilot was shot. However, I didn't try machinegun. Maybe, I will.
Just came across your video a few minutes ago. I had similar conclusions to yours. But, I would limit sniping to around 70m. I have a slow mo taken at 80m where the shot scatter put the bullet a good distance from the head I had centered. Then I purposefully shot off to the side to try and draw them to look where the shot hit instead of at me, but it hit them instead!
I only use companions to kill the them to take their weapon, then it becomes mine! I play the game alone most of the time, they are really a pain in the ass!
I go off how I can aim/fire them and the figures that give you how much fire power etc a weapon has. I've still got weapons to unlock, so no idea yet whether I agree with you about this weapon, but will definitely check whether I have used it.
Part of the reason I use the ACR as my primary is for the plentiful rifle ammo. I don't really notice LMG's as often, so not sure how he is maintaining that.
True, I switched as soon as I could afford it. Still takes 3 rounds or so to the center mass to put down most enemies, though. The SPAS-12 and LMG seem to be better choices for me for outdoor hobomurdering, and the 1911 for indoor hobomurdering. Supressors on all, of course. Oh, and for anything dealing with bees, the repair tool works wonders.
And you don't need to spend any money for the ammo, just go to the store replace the shovel by other weapon then use shovel replace it back. And you have 9/9 shovels again. Silence and deadly
Yeah. Once I picked this gun up, there is no reason to use any other gun except 50 cal sniper for hunting SOMETIMES. But m60 works well for hunting too, so meh. Sad, because I was looking forward to having some reasons other than RP to use the other guns.
It's wonderful in the game, and it was actually a damn fine MG. It's a pig of course, but in an actual firefight it's a decent weapon, as long as you have a glove to change barrels.
Explosives for vehicles n the one heavy youll encounter in an area.... bow for everything else, unless of course you have problens aiming then definitely just spray with an lmg haha
I do agree that the m60 is one of the best guns in the game but the only problem I saw with the weapon is that it takes A LOT of ammo and I needed to keep purchasing ammo...that wasn’t a big problem for me because I gave a lot of in game money but I can see how it can cause others to suffer

I use the recerve bow jess black and a rando guns for hire that has a bow all at once

I only use companions to kill the them to take their weapon, then it becomes mine! I play the game alone most of the time, they are really a pain in the ass!
It's good but the 0.50 is ma' fav'rit. Not a lot of ammo but one hit usually does the job - love taking down planes and helicopters.
I go off how I can aim/fire them and the figures that give you how much fire power etc a weapon has. I've still got weapons to unlock, so no idea yet whether I agree with you about this weapon, but will definitely check whether I have used it.

Part of the reason I use the ACR as my primary is for the plentiful rifle ammo. I don't really notice LMG's as often, so not sure how he is maintaining that.

True, I switched as soon as I could afford it. Still takes 3 rounds or so to the center mass to put down most enemies, though. The SPAS-12 and LMG seem to be better choices for me for outdoor hobomurdering, and the 1911 for indoor hobomurdering. Supressors on all, of course. Oh, and for anything dealing with bees, the repair tool works wonders.

The most op weapon should be the shovel, one shot kill armor lmg guy as well as the flame thrower
And you don't need to spend any money for the ammo, just go to the store replace the shovel by other weapon then use shovel replace it back. And you have 9/9 shovels again. Silence and deadly

Yeah. Once I picked this gun up, there is no reason to use any other gun except 50 cal sniper for hunting SOMETIMES. But m60 works well for hunting too, so meh. Sad, because I was looking forward to having some reasons other than RP to use the other guns.

Nyet, comrade, with the glorious AK you are unstoppable 😂 but yeah, in the bunker missions, I cut the enemies with M60 like lawnmower.
It's wonderful in the game, and it was actually a damn fine MG. It's a pig of course, but in an actual firefight it's a decent weapon, as long as you have a glove to change barrels.
Why is m60 better than m249? I found that you could deal with heavies and vehicles more easily with the high rate of fire.
it isn't you have to buy/unlock the M249 , you can easily get the M60 in the first hour of playing.
Explosives for vehicles n the one heavy youll encounter in an area.... bow for everything else, unless of course you have problens aiming then definitely just spray with an lmg haha
Have you been able to evaluate the M249 Light Machine Gun? It seems to me to have even less recoil than the M-60.
It is insanely op, even better than m60, but since you cant get it at the beginning....

I do agree that the m60 is one of the best guns in the game but the only problem I saw with the weapon is that it takes A LOT of ammo and I needed to keep purchasing ammo...that wasn’t a big problem for me because I gave a lot of in game money but I can see how it can cause others to suffer
I like assault rifles more cause i get ammo drops from every enemy in the game which means i dont have to buy ammo.
The Alien Gun is the best, no ammo needed. Being stealthy helps ;-)
