  • We thought of skipping our planned visit to Bratislava as we were had a deadline to reach Prague in a couple of days. But the heatwave finally subsided, and we were too close to give up now.
    From a rural park-up we made an attempt to cycle along the Danube but the weather surprised us yet again and we had to come up with another plan.

    Another great video. Thanks for the upload.
    I have been to Bratislava some years ago on the way to Prague from Budapest. But I travelled (with my daughter) by car and it was a small Punto which you can squeeze it through narrow streets and busy traffic and you can park it almost anywhere. Completely different experience (same places). With this small Punto we managed to park very close to Old Town and Bratislava castle so much less time spent on walking to main attractions. We still walked a lot to other secluded places and my daughter was very good to google out some good places to eat and visit, and some very discounted prices for a 4 star hotels for our accommodation. I just followed her and we had a great time. But next time my wife and I travelled from Belgrade and Budapest to Krakow through through Slovakia, and that was even better experience. That route goes over Tatra mountain and we stayed overnight in Banksy Bistrica which is Bratislava in small. But Tatra was well worth experiencing. I like only acacia honey and I had the best tasting acacia honey in my life. A couple of years later I have chosen the same route just so I can by the same acacia honey again. And also there is a small Zuberec village with the the whole village nearby as a museum (reconstructed village from the old era). It is a small detour from the main road but the forest and scenery is magic. There were some wild strawberries you can pick on the side of the road under the tall trees. Then, instead of going back to the main road the same way, you continue the same road towards Vitanova where you turn left to the main road again. There is even better scenery as you go through some thermal and ski resort which are just as beautiful during the summer.
    But your route is different and you are time restricted so you will show us some different things just as beautiful. I really wish you more luck with the weather in the future even though you are smiling all the time on your videos and always bravely going head on towards the unknown.
    Looking forward to your next video.

      Thank you for your great comment. ❤ We're making notes of all the suggestions! Our initial plan was also to travel from Bratislava towards Krakow to see more of Slovakia. We just once again realised a lifetime is not enough to see and experience even a single country! We're right in the north of Germany at the moment and the weather is looking much better after lots of rain in the area. We're hoping for some nice sunny days in Jutland! ☀😎

    Hey guys, lovely video as ever, Bratislava looks lovely. We'd have tried something local too (if vegan!) and maybe regretted it and definitely used the train too. Another destination on our list! It was a BIG video, big fish, big beer, big wind, big bridge......
    Happy travels you two, hope you've found some cooler summer air now.
    See you on the road? K & N x

    • @WeWillNomad
      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi guys! Although traditional food in the region of Czechia / Slovakia will always be meat (and potato) based you will always have vegan options - especially in larger locations. Else, just go for the beer 😋😎 We don't really do justice to a location with our 'city' videos as they're a bit harder to film and not be a '10 things to see'. We've been in the north of Germany for the a few weeks and now in Jutland, Denmark and the weather is really nice. By late September we should be in the north of France and from there make our way south. Would be great to meet you on the road! All the best to you both and enjoy your travels!

      @WeWillNomad hi Andre & Lisa. We started typing this and paused while being nosey, watching someone from a MASSIVE American style RV just drove the car they'd towed 100 yards to the Elsen point 😳
      Anyway, we're off to Scotland next week before a 'shake down' in Devon. We head to Ireland late September, then land in Santander mid December. Our only fixed date is a 'treat' on our birthdays in February in Morocco. Even when we have some time (like this week) we seem to stay put if we find a good running, walking, swimming, cycling, exploring location so we are quite prepared to travel slowly!! It would be so lovely to meet up if our stars align!
      Happy travels
      K & N xx 💙🚐

      @WeWillNomad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome! We'll probably be well south of Santander come mid-December 😋We've learnt that it can be quite tricky to cross paths with fellow travelers... but seeing as we're also heading for Morocco(!). .... 😉 Sounds like you guys got an exciting time ahead! 😎

    Hello Julle Twee
    Always great to watch "Your" videos. That's what people have to understand, they are your travels. Unfortunately you can't go to every single place and some people forget that some of us have a very limited allowance in which to travel with. Besides, like that it gives you an excuse to come back and see what you've missed. I just love seeing the amount of "lekkers" you go through before breakie!!! Great travels guys and I love to see the positive energy you emit. Dankie dat ons saam met julle kan reis. Hope one day to bump into you guys if all goes well. Just one more request from you, how did the upgrade go?

      Hi Roy! Exactly as you say, we do it our way and invite others along for the trip by making these videos. It's just different when you're on the road full time. Every day is not a 'real' vacation. We promise to give proper feedback on the suspension job. Wanted to get some mileage done first to evaluate properly. Thanks so much for your comment. Have an extra braai on us. 😎

      It can be a good option to use park and ride. In this case we we left the park and ride at 11 that night due to some boy racing activities 🤦But it convenient none the less. Good crap! So I'm never bored in Bratislava... There's always something going on there and there's somewhere to go, whether it's to a concert, football, hockey, after monuments, shopping centers, bars, there are also nice places to walk along the Danube embankment to the new Downtown . In Belgrade, people are just more temperamental, so it seems that maybe there is more life there because they live mainly in the evening...

    I am from Slovakia. I have only two reasons why I visit the capital city, Bratislava. The first one is the airport to get out of here, and the second is the Greek restaurant. I've visited 25 other European capital cities, but none look so terrible due to lots of graffiti, the terribly devastated facades of most buildings, and that socialistic feeling. If you want to see a really beautiful city, just take a train to Trnava (20-30 mins from Bratislava). It is the most beautiful city in Slovakia.

    • @WeWillNomad

      No určite veď Trnava je ako dedina oproti Bratislave... Ani hrad tam nie je ani rieka tade netečie... Za pol dňa tam človek nemá čo robit v celej Trnave. Prejde historické centrum behne do city arény nákupného centra pozrieť a môže ísť domov...

      Of course, Trnava is like a village opposite Bratislava... There is no castle there, nor is there a river... In half a day there is nothing to do in all of Trnava. He passes the historic center, runs to the city arena shopping center to see and can go home
