One of the best meals I ever ate was hot beef tongue in a truck stop restaurant (of all places!) in a little off-the-beaten path in France. It was the special of the day and that's all I knew how to order in French. I had no idea what would show up on the table. To my delight, it was tongue with several different homemade sauces on the side, which were perfect, a salad, and boiled potatoes. Truckers know where to eat. If you see a loaded truck stop restaurant, they serve YUMMY food!
I'd love to learn authentic Russian pickled vegetables, like the ones used in popular Russian salads. Also pozharsky kotleti (my recipe is a little too French/Romanov). Thanks!

...bailley leaves??? bay leaves...cook in crock pot...add garlic, onions, carrot, celery...whole peppercorn, cloves, allspice...after slicing meat put back in broth with tomatoes, add drop dumplings...cover, simmer...your welcome..russian style too boring unless you're drinking wodka...

Yes but then I diced up the meat and used it in beef and cabbage soup. It was so tender it melted in your mouth.
