I've literally just bagged a lightly used p30 pro new edition 256gb 8gb ram for £140.Yes it's a old phone but it will be still difficult even in 2024 to find a better stable phone with such a great camera for under £250 New. Nearly all new phones under £350 have more than one flaw. The p30 bar it's age and old software has none. Unbelievably stable. My first p30 pro I reversed over it at IKEA and completely shattered the screen and guess what, still worked perfectly. Another example of such a well built phone.

Absolutely! I've picked up another one and a P20 Pro to test out over the next few weeks for 2024 type reviews! Certainly reminds me of how good these phones were back then. I'm gutted they don't have GMS as I'd probably be using one as my daily!

@@ectolo I'm the same as you, looking to replace my P20 Pro and just got back from looking at the Pixel 8. Disappointed to be honest, didn't feel an upgrade and the camera wasn't noticeably better on the Pixel and was actually worse on full zoom (which wasn't as zoomed in as the P20 Pro). Might get a P30 Pro but will more than likely just save my money.

PS: The pixel 8 pro solved two of my main deal breakers from the 7 Pro. 50Mp shots were possible and manual camera mode. It was a heat bomb though, like worryingly so. The selfie camera was also legitably terrible, like objectively worse than my P20 Pro, a cheaper, 5 or 6 year older device. I ordered one from Amazon in October and sent it back 4 days later.
I'm looking forward to having two phones again!

The akuu lasts all day if I don't use it constantly and according to an akuu app it is still in good condition. Don't forget that I've probably charged it at least 1,500 times and a replacement battery costs maybe a maximum of $25. I wouldn't have thought that in this day and age, when many things have a planned expiry date, there would be a cell phone that would last so long (especially when I use it). Unfortunately, it no longer receives updates, but if Huawei still had the Google Play Store on its new smartphones, I would only buy this brand 😢

Has anyone had problems with Bluetooth on the P30 Pro? Because I did.
Even when it was new, it handled LDAC and APTX HD codecs poorly. A lot worse than other smartphones. Connection was unstable, and range was lower than in other smartphones.
But it became worse after battery replacement. Bluetooth with LDAC had only 1 meter range, if distance is longer connection just interrupted.
I think bluetooth is the only weak feature in this smartphone.

Honestly I miss my P30 Pro big time, their really isn't much difference in overall performance, and I prefer the P30 pros camera. I much prefer the feel of the P30 Pro in my hand too, it just feels premium and right compared to the HONOR. I still use my P30 pro for work purposes, it really is the GOAT.

Absolute shame as its a brilliant phone and even at 3 times the price the newer phones aren't actually any better. Might be a bit of an improvement but not a big jump worthy of investing. Because Huawei phones were are so much better than the competition I suspect that's the reason they were suddenly a national threat and not for the reasons they were claiming.

However, do not ever forget that Leica or Leitz, Wetzlar, Germany, invented the 35mm film camera in 1903 (it was Prof. Barnack) Leica still is one of the leading manufacturer for cameras, microscopes, and lenses for amateur and professional applications. I had the latest Samsung 23 pro ultra phone, but I am back to the P30Pro and was lucky to get a factory new one of these excellent phones. It is still excellent if you do not want to show off with the latest phone which is obsolete in a year. Last not least phones are just phones and cameras are for the serious photographer. I am lucky to have a Leica 9 digital, one of the best money can buy.

Obviously I wasn't able to use TH-cam but I was able to get daily motion and tiktok. It really wasn't as bad as I thought, and interestingly anytime I accessed anything Google connected it instantly tried to find out where I was and asked for location access. Changed recently to pixel 8 pro, but my all time favourite is the p30 pro. Battery still last longer, finger touch and sensor much better, no stupid bugs like my pixel does time to time. Overall for me P30 beats pixel as I feel more reliable. Of course pixel got plenty of improvements like stereo speakers which are great, or better screen which is hard to notice. But to be honest it wasn't a big step after the p30...

Hands down the best phone I ever got. I purchased it during the first covid lockdown in 2020 as an upgrade to a Samsung Galaxt S7 Edge (another phone I loved dearly for many years). 4 years later and the P30 Pro still delivers a full day battery on medium usage, runs every single app I need and is stacked up to the brim with photos. Maybe the camera quality has decreased significantly from regular wear and tear and simply by comparison with newer smartphones and it's the only reason I'm considering switching to a Google Pixel 8 Pro. Other than that - Huawei P30 Pro is simply an amazing device!!

Loved my p30pro until an update broke the focus on my camera. I was using it for product photography, and it became almost useless. I tried everything to get it back to normal, and researched online. Seems like it hit quite a few users but not everyone according to these comments. I wonder if they count how much photos you've taken or something. I loved the camera so much till I'm considering getting a new one, but I'm not sure that would be a wise choice considering the fact that after 3 yrs of using the camera packed up due to update.
