A combination of honest review, bike knowledge, market knowledge, photography, crisp sound and good choice of music. Man... this is the perfect review!
Only 47,000 subscribers that doesn't seem right in my opinion, these are basically small films due to the quality of the editing and how professional you keep it. Keep up the good work Ryan.
Couldn't agree more! As a soon to be motovlogger (and or compilations) I feel really demotivated. Seeing this channel that is such high quality, only has this much subscribers! The editing and content is so good! This channel would deserve 500K+ subs for sure!
Congrats on getting into vlogging! And don't be discouraged - motovlogging is a great way to grow a big audience with much less production value than we put in. Go for it! ~RyanF9
don't you dare to surrender :D i started a road-vlogging channel too, 42 videos are up, only 16 subscribers (and i'm probably sure 15 of them are inactive). The only thing i care is what i can do better in the next video. Good luck for your YT channel, i'm going to check it out ;) And as always, an amazing video review! The movie style and narration make these reviews probably the most enjoyable on the market ;)
I've never been a much of a Harley guy, but my wife convinced me to look at this one. I now have and FXDLS parked in the garage with over 2000 miles in 3 weeks. Great review and spot-on.
Your videos are a mix between the peacefulness of a National Geographic channel documentary and awesome motorcycle reviews that are incredibly informative. You are a blessing to the internet and I'm glad I found you.
Please stop! You made me go to Harley’s website and start looking at bikes before I gave my head a shake! Proud to see video quality like this from Canada!
To be honest, i don't like to comment on videos that much. Everybody's got an opinion on what you have to say. But i liked this video that much, that i threw all of that overboard. Keep up the good work and please make more videos like these. Thank you
Two years on and this is still one of the best reviews I've seen for the FXLRS and was a big part of the reason I knew my decision to buy mine was the right one. Of course it's not a perfect bike. But it's perfect for me. Always enjoy your videos.
When he first posted this video I was drooling 🤤 over this bike but couldn’t afford it lol 😂… now in 2024 I bought it. The 2016 low rider s dyna and this was the video that got me hooked baby now I’m rewatching it and dam I got that buck he riding lol
found Ryan while shopping online for a helmet. first thought was he was just another kid trying out TH-cam. quickly realized he's one of the best if not the best reviewer going. keep up the fantastic work. glad I found him...
After a long day, I came back to watch this video, again, because it makes me feel relaxed. I get about everything Ryan says and actually own a FXR and a XR 1200x, and just don’t have a Low Rider S yet because it’s still too expensive. Thanks for the video, keep it up the good content!
That was a bloody great and down to earth review there mate. It's refreshing to hear a level headed review on the old school style of motorbike that Harley makes when a lot of people expect nothing but the best and most refined products in this age of technology that we live in. People are so fast to hate on Harley for they type of bike they continue to make in this day and age without realising the answer as to why Harley still does this, is right there staring them in the face.
I never considered owning a Harley. But I was restricting my girlfriends Sportser and the dealer offered me a test ride with the Dyna Low Rider S while I was waiting and I really liked it. The torque was fun and it handled pretty good. And it looks and sounds very good. Designing it to appeal to younger customers was a really good move from Harley. Oh and thanks for the good review. Greetings from Finland.
After spending months researching this bike I finally caved and made my purchase about a year and a half ago. My decision solidified once I watched this review. I agree this is the first Harley that I knew I had to have. Your review was perfect and informative, thank you! By far the best purchase I’ve made, love this bike. Looks great, handles well and tons of torque!
And here we are in summer 2019 and these bikes are listed for $10,000 more than the original sticker price. They made a product that was an instant classic
I am thoroughly impressed with the writing, production quality and honest review. I will come back for more insight and product reviews. Excellent work!
I want you to know that this video inspired me to find a FXDLS even when they’re discontinued and hard to get into California. I found one. Thanks brother!
The Iron 883 and this guys are the only 2 Harleys that ever did it for me. Bought a ‘21 LowRider S and LOVE it. Coming from sport bikes, I don’t feel underpowered at all. Torque (119FtLbs) is FUN. Awesome review
I’m a bagger guy, always heading for the canyons prepared for cool of altitude and the warmth of decent, extra weight and a lot of comfort, love your reviews.
I generally don't comment on videos, but this is way, way too good to not comment on. I think you outdid yourself. I've been following you for a good while now because I liked your hacks and tips videos. This review proves you're going to be big, and soon. I honestly can't wait for your next review video! Great review and wonderful cinematography; having trawled through so many youtube motorbike channels yours is one of the best...brilliant. Can you do the Ducatti XDiavel S next?
Been watching your videos for a while now and despite your advice I went ahead and bought a 750 Street Rod HOWEVER your honesty, presentation style, enthusiasm and knowledge will keep me coming back time and time again. New subscriber acquired. Keep up the great work and thanks for identifying my next ride. 👊🏼
These are great videos-I love how each one has an *entirely* different feel to it, but still feel the same. Great story telling, editing, and production value!
So I'm decidedly not a "Harley guy", but got a chance to test ride the Low Rider S this week. This is probably the first and only Harley I would actually want to buy. The few times I've ridden Harleys in the past I had the thought most non-Harley people do "this would be a good bike with 20 more horsepower, better suspension and better brakes", the Low Rider S is that bike. I am also only 5'10" so the mid mount controls fit me about spot on, unlike Ryan who might have been a little cramped at 6'3". Still found it to be easier to ride and more flickable than even a Sportster. Motor wise, it's no sportbike, but it still has a good chunk more power than your typical Harley and torque everywhere, but was a breeze at low speeds unlike other Harleys I've ridden.
Ryan I’ve just bought the 2023 Lowrider S and it’s a fantastic bike to ride. Great handling with plenty of power now. You should take one out for the weekend- but you probably won’t want to return it . Cheers keep up your great work.
Yes I am responding to a video you put out last year. First off great F-in job! Second you need to do this more often and third you provided me with some of the best information tech tips on this bike which everyone looking to purchase this bike needs. Your insight on lean angle, shock tension, air flow and restriction is unbiased and true. Thank you for this review and honest thoughts of the Harley.
Dude! I absolutely love your videos! New motorcyclist here and so glad I found this channel. These videos are gold! So well done! You sir, brilliant! Keep up the phenomenal work. Kudos from The beaver state to your south.
The movies, pardon, reviews you shoot at night are more poetic. I don't think I'd want a Harley, yet, with this review, I understand why someone else would. Great job.
Incredibly well done review, camera work, scripting, and editing unmatched on youtube. I own this bike 2016 FXDLS and can tell you that like all Harleys, the magic is in the build. The stock bike is simply an amazing platform for upgrades which make the bike come alive, I did exhaust, 13 in lucky daves pullback bars, memphis shades quarter fairing among other things. The wheels would likely only appeal to those of us old enough to remember gold mags.
He men, I ordered this bike in 2016 and still have it, before delivery I watched your video over and over again, till my HOG arrived - your video's rock
Best bike review ever... please do more bike reviews. i loved the ending--i really appreciate you adding in the irrational decision piece that comes with falling in love with a bike.
Wow...Used to watch your gear reviews but now I am hooked with your bike reviews after seeing this. Quality of your camera, angles and editing is amazing. Big up to your camera man aswell! Shit! so far i think you are way better than anyone other motovlogger...wait, i dont know what to call you but keep it up. This is way beyond other professional reviews...puts them to shame.
I absolutely loved this bike when i test rode it last year. It made me fall in love with harley as ive always been a sports bike fan... this would be the bike id have if i did change.
You should jump on it! After they killed the Dyna, prices on these have started to climb. Could be a very expensive bike one day, with a very short production run and all. ~RF9
JDM John89 - That's what happened to me way back in 1980 when I was 24 years old and rode my Kawasaki Z1-R (fastest production bike in the world when I bought it) to a dealership that sold Hondas and Harleys. The owner threw me keys to a one year old low rider, with a Shovelhead engine, and said take it for a spin. Within a mile I was amazed at just how fun that bike was and how much pure soul. I said to myself, ahh, now I get it! Most nay sayers have never ridden a Harley. I've owned a few over the years from Sportsters to Ultras, put about 100,000 miles on Harleys and don't have a bad thing to say about them. Pure riding enjoyment. I can totally understand Ryan's reaction to riding this excellent bike. Even though I love Harleys, I also like Japanese bikes. Mostly, I love to ride! (And I'll wave to all others that love to ride, no matter what bike they're on).
Id just like to say great work on the video.. I have a 2002 dyna low rider, so yeah i have the model that was cool before people started to realize they were cool bikes lol. I have hot rodded my bike, so it isnt stock by any means but as a 24 year old who is blessed to have a machine like i do, they arent just for grandpas, i drag race it at the track on friday nights and ride it as much as i can. puts a smile on my face, and thats all that matters!
Yet another plug for the production crew. I see them in almost every one of these FortNine productions. I smell a rat. There's a conspiracy afoot. It's like you guys are liking your own production. Poor form.
Started watching this channel when it first started. It's great to see your videos getting more recognition and your channel getting more subscribers. Another great quality video, hope your cold has sorted itself out :)
6.13 explain how changing suspension raises seat hight so your knees don't have to make such a sharp bend? Distance from seat to foot pegs is fixed. Awesome reviews. And the website looks great. Some of the most professional reviews on here, and Canadian no less.
You're right - I meant to say that my knees wouldn't have to make such a sharp bend to the ground, not the pegs. But the reverse is also possible - raising the seat height gives more ground clearance, which I could use to install dropped pegs if I wanted to. Just a slightly more complex mod there. Thanks for watching! ~RyanF9
Lovely review. "Out riding a Harley" is probably THE BEST excuse for blowing off a meeting with Harley. Probably TLDR, but I rented a beat up low rider S for a long trip around the American southwest because it was one of the few available bikes low enough for me to touch the ground and reach the controls. The tires were bald and the clutch was sloppy and sometimes didn't fully disengage when it was still cold. Like you mentioned, the lean angle meant I was scraping around every mountain. Ran that thing hard, got it stuck in weird places (legs too short to back it up inclines), and nearly got it completely submerged in sand at Antelope Canyon. I f****** loved that bike, warts and all.
Great review. I bought my Low Rider S brand new in 2017 and never looked back. Partially because of watching this review when you posted it back in 2016. The one thing the FXDLS has over the new Low Rider S is it is an iconic model. The last of the Dyna line. They were built in way fewer numbers and will always hold their value compared to the new mass produced S model. I paid $17,500 back in 17 and could sell it right now for nearly what I payed for it. But it's not the resale value that makes me love this bike. It's an old school Dyna with a modern twist, club style looks, massive torque and power and represents the old school days when Harley had that badboy image that I grew up on. I will never sell this bike.
Very good review. I enjoy watching your videos. I was surprised to hear what I thought to be a good review for the type and brand of bike. I'm glad to see an honest review (I didn't really expect less since I've seen some of your videos previously). I think you can see why and summed it up pretty well how some people learn to like these bikes. They just bring a joy to riding, even if they have short comings or stuff you would change. Another big plus to your videos is getting to see some beautiful areas of your country:)
The FXDLS is an absolute gem. Such a shame their production run was so short. What should be a platform for some of the fastest Harleys on the road will instead mostly find itself relegated to the garages of market speculators and collectors.
I am in med school now, maybe i will get a Harley in 10 years. All I like about Harley is the sound and vibrations of it. I sat on one and really liked the feeling it gave me.
Cool man, good, honest review. I haven't read the comments, but I love my 01 LOWRIDER big time. Upgraded hydraulic cam tensioners n high flow oil pump, pipes etc....every day I ride it, feels like I just bought a brand new Ferrari lol!!!!
This is the bike that converted me to HD after over 25 yrs of sportbikes. Picked up a new 17 LRS in 2016 (after the headache of dealing through HD BS of buying)... Its a forever bike, keeper and actually I grabbed another HD 16 Streetglide (and currently its a well built performance bagger). Today with the LRS? , A well modded, True Tracks, GP 25 mm cartridges in front, Ohlins blacklines 13.5 in back, TTS and a real dyno tune with great D&D 2 into 1, large 15" big brake kit (of course usual stuff 14" bars, seat, pegs, full fairing & screen) and its actually a great way to spend the day ripping the twisties and being hooligan.... I feel lucky to have grabbed that 17 as they discontinued it after. That Dyna LRS is my forever HD (my streetglide is also), no plans to ever buy another HD.
"Annoying as a 2-period hockey game..." so Canadian, yet so apt. Love my FXRS, but you've got me interested in this bike, too. Good videos, from what I've seen...
A combination of honest review, bike knowledge, market knowledge, photography, crisp sound and good choice of music. Man... this is the perfect review!

This guy makes the best reviews on TH-cam, it’s like a damn movie everyone. Fortnine better be paying you well or I at least hope it’s your company
Wow, the cinematography.. top notch. keep up the good work.
I keep coming back to this vid. Really well made FortNine
FortNine, how do you not have a million subscribers already? I would and actually do watch your stuff over revzilla any day of the week.
Awesome work Ryan, Are you sick? if so get well soon.
And please keep the vids/reviews coming.
Yeah - got the flu! Feeling much better now though. Thanks! ~RyanF9
Top Gear Motorcycle Edition, staring Ryan and maybe two other lads? I'd def watch that! Great video Ryan. Get well soon!
Amazing work. Hit so many marks. Sublime production, camera work, and real world review. Subscribed. Keep up the great work. 🙏
wow that could be a Harley Davidson documentary it was so good. keep up the good work.
Low RiderS 2022: Harley did exactly what you predicted!
The FXDLS is an absolute gem. Such a shame their production run was so short. What should be a platform for some of the fastest Harleys on the road will instead mostly find itself relegated to the garages of market speculators and collectors.
these vids... gotta say... are great. Well done, well narrated and informative. Ride safe everybody.
*>implying a 20-something year old guy would have nearly $30.000 to spend on this Harley*
Nah mate, it's made for middle-aged men.
Edward Armstrong Or the trust fund babies.
Edward Armstrong Or drug dealers.
Wanna know what's also nearly 30k?
A fucking H2.
I am 32. Am I a "middle-aged man" already?
Btw, it's not 30.000$. Here in Germany it's around 20.000€ and I guess in the US it's about 17.500$.
BFD15i $16,700 in the US.
I am in med school now, maybe i will get a Harley in 10 years. All I like about Harley is the sound and vibrations of it. I sat on one and really liked the feeling it gave me.
dude, best channel on the tube. you constantly amaze me. as for the harley, keep it.
One of the best quality films I've ever seen on YT. Superb! Sublime! Marvelous! Well done, well done indeed. :-)
You're getting better and better. Keep goin dude :) I'm glad to be your subscriber!
I truly appreciate your intelligence and candor. Well done. Bring it!
This guy makes the best videos in the business!
This was the best motorcycle review i have ever seen
extremely well done bike review i enjoyed every secon!! loved the film style! all in all great job guys!!!
Beautiful short film, thank you!
wow. The quality of your videos are miles ahead of anyone else. keep it up. It's definitely gonna pay off soon
"Annoying as a 2-period hockey game..." so Canadian, yet so apt. Love my FXRS, but you've got me interested in this bike, too. Good videos, from what I've seen...
Went from an FXLRS to an FXDLS.
This review nailed this bike on the head. Though I look at mine far more favourably.
doood your channel should be much bigger! i think you do some killer review's and overall this is a very polished channel, keep up the great work!
Who the hell shot this? BEAUTIFUL. Looks like a professional documentary.
