Our First Visit to Ocean Cay MSC Private Island!

Ahoy Mates!
Welcome aboard Happy Travelers! In this series we are sailing on a 7 night Western Caribbean sailing on the MSC Seashore! We will be departing Miami Florida and visiting Ocho Rios Jamaica, Georgetown Grand Cayman, Cozumel Mexico, and Ocean Cay ( MSC’s Private Island). This is our first time sailing on an MSC vessel and Seashore is one of MSC’s newest and largest ships! We are excited and curious to see what MSC is all about!
It is day 7 and our final day onboard the MSC Seashore! We saved the best for last because we are spending the whole day at Ocean Cay, MSC’s private island! And when we say all day, we mean ALL day! We got to try some of the food, snorkel at some of the beaches, and climb the iconic lighthouse! The snorkeling was really good and the water was probably the most beautiful we have seen from a private island! The perfect end to the day was the lighthouse light show ! It was so impressive and is a must do to view!

We just came back from that ocean cay key last week.. All we have to say is the sand is filled with thorny dune sandburs that hurt a lot when you step on them. They also cling to anything, bags, feet, towels, anything and they are carried all over. Let me tell you they hurt. We already complained to MSC. People carry them around and even end up all over the sands. So people please, wear sandals everywhere otherwise you’ll be in real pain.
Wow, the beach party looked amazing. I also wish more cruise lines would do that. How awesome would this be for a new years party.

My takeaway from your cruise is MSC is a little different and has it good points and a few challenges. When you get down to it what cruise line is perfect? So definitely an option.

Loved the Perfect Day mistake. I would have done the same. Coco Coco Cay can't be beat even if Stir Up Cay(NCL) and Ocean Cay (MSC) combined their fun. I'd say that's just my opinion but I think it's very obvious.
Royal Caribbean used to do overnights stays but haven't in a while. I perfer to head to the next stop like Cozumel or St Thomas.
Don't like how if you have a alcohol package on the ship you have to buy a separate $30 drink package on the island. And the fact that there's no shade and yet they charge for umbrellas. Royal Caribbeans got a better policy.
Does MSC require a lifejacket? If so do they charge to rent it? Thanks!

which sun screen you recomend?
Hi! We use different ones dependent on availability. We usually get a minimum of 50 SPF and recommend reef safe sunscreen if you'll be near reefs. Thanks for watching! 🤗❤️🚢
