Wow. Thank you! I have a stool/ seat near exactly the same the one you just did. Rectangle shape. So glad I found your channel to help me give new life to it. I really didn't want to throw it away since the bones are solid wood. 👍👍 I subscribed. Hope that you're still making videos regardless. I'm going to watch more of what you already have anyway.
People say I have patience but girl you have so much more! Great job seeing it through to the end. I have always wondered how they did those seats. See you on the next flip!
Lol, yeah it definitely takes patience. I don’t always have the head space for it but… when I get stuck in a creative block and can’t figure out which project is next or what direction to go, I pull out a chair and just put my brain on auto pilot. When it’s finished I can see the path again ;) thanks for watching so glad your here ❤️
Stool turned out wonderful. TFS. Painters beige drop cloths make excellent backdrops. I buy mine at Walmart for about $12 each for the larger panel ones.
GEORGIE YESSSSS! Painters backdrop = Brilliance!!! I will be absolutely doing this and will 100% credit you for the idea. So grateful for this suggestion. 🙏🏼
@girl-reinventing you're teaching so don't worry about it pickers. Your doing great. Lol making videos and from experience it's not that easy especially editing. So just be yourself. ❤
Just bought four ladder-back chairs with paper fiber strung seats. They're old and look to be in good condition. Is painting the bottom, then top, with shellac make the seats more enduring? Enjoyed the demonstration - replacing the string!
I am so excited ..... I have a stool identical to yours that needs a rushing redo. Would you please give the dimensions of the cardboard triangles and if you can buy the small wood triangle tool. I am tool challenged and do not have equipment to make my own wood tool. Because of you, I am going to try to do this. THANK YOU.
The triangle pieces are just random sizes cut from left over cardboard boxes. You use have to get to the point where you need to fill the gaps and cut to fit. The wood pieces that I use to adjust the rush are just made from left over scrap wood and a dowel that we sanded to a point. Not sure if these tools are available to purchase. Check out the silver river chair’s channel on TH-cam.. he’s the master ! Might find more info for “proper” tools. Good luck but more importantly have fun! You can do anything just have to try ☺️
Just thinking outside the box here but you could use a flat head screw driver the same way as that wood triangle.. just tap the handle with a small hammer 🤷♀️
I may have missed it if you told us how long in length and how many bundles do you work with for a chair? Are bundles the way to go for ease of use? If so, what length do you make your bundles?
Hi there sorry it took so long to reply (working a lot these days) . So the bundles are personal preference. Make them as long as you can manage them. It’s a trial and error process, sometimes the longer they are more tangled they get when you’re pulling through. Mine usually end up roughly 10 feet. Hope. It turned out well :)
If you have habitat for humanity the sell chandeliers that you can run across your celing they sell the cords with chain's at Wal-Mart for about ten dollars. The stool came out great.
Kathleen GREAT 👍🏻 idea! I actually have an MCM salvaged hanging fixture in the shop that I was going to refurbish! Now I know what it’s purpose is :) thank you ❤️❤️
Me again ......... would you please provide a link for the same product, but a smaller spool? I only have the one stool and really not sure what I would do with the leftovers. THANK YOU!!
I’d go with 2 though because sometimes with different lots the color changes and if you need more then 1 you might have mix match colors I learned the hard way 🥴
Hi there! I cleaned my chair with water and dish detergent and it turned yellow after drying up! Any suggestions on how I can fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If you're just here for the seat weaving skip to the 10:50 mark. Worth a watch all through though 😊

Wonderful work! Thank you so much, your video is very helpful 😀👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Do check out the Silver River Chairs channel, he’s got great videos with many more techniques! Good luck with your project ☺️
I clicked on this to see how to weave and I’m 10 minutes in and still haven’t seen any 😂😂less chat ❤…edit I stayed and the chairs beautiful 😍
Was thinking this at under 3 minutes....lol. just skip to the action imo.
Thank you for the kind words :) yes still learning how to pare down to just the essentials. Thanks for watching

Such a great video, you sure do give a look into turning a pretty unusual project into a usable gem. Go for it girl, you have really good insight.
Thank you fairy GodMother 😘😘hope you are having fun in Paris ❤️
Thanks for the video. I actually had watched the two linked videos before finding yours. lol.
Beautiful work!

Good idea! Never tried it but I don’t see why not 🤷♀️
Epic

I’m going to redo a bench like yours. How much rush did you buy for the project? Maybe you said in video. I didn’t finish watching yet. Thanks!

I got a big spool because it’s easier to pull from initially and I have enough for multiple chairs. Have fun!

Do you know how to find natural water rush for weaving a chair seat? (Like the first seat shown)
I have not attempted to find the natural rush for a project yet. Good luck!
Not sure if you’ve found something yet but I think they have some on amazon
Nice, but 10+ minutes of introduction is a LOT
How do you get water stains out of the seat?
If your talking about the fiber seat it just dries :) no stain
Nearly half of the video talking! Then you blast through the process.
You lost me at 9 minutes in
