Came here after watching 'Framing John DeLorean'. Pretty smooth operator, I'll say that. He handles these two interviewers perfectly. I need to read his book. A fascinating person.
This is simply an unfair, rapid-fire interrogation, two versus one. The questions are no apparent order, going from business matters to personal and then back again, seemingly at random. John Delorean was gracious enough to tolerate and answer the constant barrage of questions, clearly designed to insult and provoke him. He stays composed throughout.
Im pretty sure mr deLorean was informed about the questions he would get and thisway he is given the opportunity to answer these questions many people had. He is not having a hard time at all explaining himself and getting himself across in a well carried manner.
That other reporter just won't let up. She just keeps on asking these questions as if trying to piss him off. Jokes on both of them they will be forgotten while Mr. Delorean will live on through his legacy. RIP Mr. Delorean.
Thankyou very much for posting this story.I loved John DeLorean and thought of him as a automotive wizard.I think it was a terrible shame that the US government destroyed his life. I had a friend in high school who bought a GTO just because of him.
A truly unique man--and when men like DeLorean come on the scene --the haters, the small men, the jealous men, the slime that infests government--begin to plot for his demise. DeLorean had so much charisma--but humbleness and forthrightness too--that he was a threat to the meaningless minions who seem to operate this world. But the irony is that all the bottom feeders who sought DeLorean's demise--are forgotten. DeLorean lives on.
He engineered his own downfall. And there's very little to admire in his work after the early 1970's. The DMC-12 would be a sad side note in automotive history nobody gives two flying shits about with out the Back To The Future movies. Which would be its just place in history. Which, for one, used Porsche air-cooled engines in them, because the PRV is a underpowered overheating POS and not something you stick in a sports car, so the cars wouldn't even run for a movie takes worth or perform with out significant strife from the stunt drivers to do a simple powerslide. Back when journalists still believed in asking tough questions...they are asking questions people are really wanting to know...vs, “what’s your favorite color?”
The questions in this interview are awful. “Did you know everyone at GM hated you?” “How long did you conduct yourself as a womanizer?” “How much cosmetic surgery did you have over the course of your life?” “Don’t you want to talk shit about GM after all these years?” “Did you find Jesus in jail, I mean how sincere is that?” “How often did you think of killing yourself?” BONUS: “Why didn’t you?” Just trash questions from start to end.

Two old bags tried to fry the guy!
Wow Classic tale of betrayal. Ultimately GM where you grew up stabbed you in the back along with the other 2 big auto makers, your US government/FBI and because you were in bed with the Irish the Queen did not help you either.
He must have been under tremendous pressure. Good thing they let him go to live the rest of his days in peace. They got what they wanted destroy his company.
Witch year is this interview from?
When was this interview?
That interviewer kept asking why would the Tory gov close the plant and break their contract. Obviously doesn't know Maggie Thatcher's war on workers.
High intelligent , pushed the envelope, and extremely inventive. Proof that you can be very successful , do a tremendous amount of great things in life, but make a couple of mistakes and that's what you're known for.
I don't know why he would interview with these bimbos. I am sure there were others who did not see him from the darkness of marx and his progressive education in the USA.
Talk about being ahead of the time, talking about how fun it is to be Tom Brady!! That's right baby ... 6... GOAT! 🐐🏉👑
~JOHN DeLOREAN - R.I.P.
what's up with the lady in yellow?the female outfits are hysterical big hair and box shoulders ughh.Delorean seems like a sweet man kind nature. His appearance is deceiving.Looks slick but character so different.Wish these women would stop ballbusting doesn't make them good reporters.anyway, God rest him.
"But but but... I found JEEEEESUS while in prison!"
This all could have been avoided if Margeret Thatcher didnt single handedly kill off his dream
Sounds like Alan Alda
Not exactly a surprise. According to a story I read she was planning on leaving him. She was tired of playing trophy wife but she stood by him throughout the trial.
Smooth as TENNESSEE WHISKEY
Wow! Did those women have John DeLorean on the hot seat. They were well aware that a lot of other peoples money had mysteriously gone missing. Good on them.
His much less noticable nervous twitches went wild as those two hit him rapid fire questions.
That crook even tried to garner some sympathy for not having received any payment from the books author but those ladies just ignored him.
Poor John! Bet he hadn't been fulfilling his part of the his book contract to make these personal appearances.
So here I am catching up on some new to me salicous details of a former Detroit legend whose autos I used to love dead now for 19 years.
Those two were gagging for it
LEGEND Those 2 catty women....not
