    I mean, America almost had a rail strike but it was averted literally hours before it was set to occur. There is a possibility that an agreement could be reached before a strike happens, but that is my thought.

      It was called off because Joe Biden, the self-proclaimed "most pro-union president in US history", completely shafted the union rail workers via executive order and forced them to accept a bad contract that solved NONE of their issues so he could protect the economy, and more importantly, the interests of his Wall Street mega-donors that were large shareholders in the railroads. BNSF workers got NO sick days from it despite that being their primary grievance that had brought about the crisis. The railroads gave the workers a small raise and otherwise got everything they wanted just handed to them by the Federal Government.

    Traffic is significantly lower than it ever was and it seems unit trains and manifests are less and less.

    Where do you film most of your footage? I recognize some as potentially being in Kitchener which is cool to chance upon someone active where I’m at.
    If you’re after some good catches, you should go to the rail yard at Victoria and Lancaster if you haven’t already. It’s just past the Shell gas station. I’ve seen some cool stuff in that yard, last time I was there I managed to get some good photos of two CN GP9’s shuffling railcars around the yard. I’ve also seen a GTW leading (still original blue and orange paint, not a CN), that was latched to two BNSF engines.
    The line that goes past Victoria Park along the Iron Horse trail is also really good for catching, and some of the signals along that route have yet to be upgraded and STILL have real bells! There’s another small yard on that same line between Hayward and Block Line where I’ve seen activity. It’s just a matter of getting lucky, but both are fairly active throughout the day. I better get active myself before they potentially go on lock-out!

      @@GamingRailfanner Oookay, that makes sense. I recognized it for a fact as Ontario, but god everything looks so similar here it’s hard to tell where anything is at times. If you ever wind up in Kitchener, there’s always some good spots to catch stuff throughout the day. Those SD70s are nice, I’m jealous as I don’t see 6-axles here all that often. Those autorracks are really cool. They’re probably full of fresh vehicles from the Toyota manufacturing plant in Cambridge, if not one of Ford’s many plants or otherwise, as they all like to transport by rail. Just another thing that could be effected by the lock out, no more 2024 RAV4’s for us!

    This was a very difficult video to watch… very cringe take by a young foamer. You’re getting all of your info from the company website… corporate propaganda. You have no idea *why* we’re going on strike… it’s not because we are refusing to negotiate with the company. Actually the company is refusing to negotiate with us… they’ve imposed several ultimatums through various “take it or leave it” offers that would severely impact all of the employees, our families, and our lives. Eliminating over 100 years of collective bargaining agreements and forcing layoffs and relocations.
    I suggest you read the TCRC press release for a better understanding of what’s really happening.
    Also, trains aren’t just going to stop running. They will be crewed by scabs and managers (trainmasters, office employees, retired engineers, etc). The only exception is CPKC where RTCs on strike will shut everything down (Your Milton GO trains won’t run.. boo hoo)

      My bad that information is often "propaganda" these days, and also my bad that im not a CN Engineer or personel that has information like this right in front of me. And my bad that a lot of recent videos of mine have been rushed due to circumstances that im dealing with 🤷🏽.
      Feedback on videos is appreciated but slandering me at every chance you get isn't doing me, you or anyone anything.

    • @YDHR3612
      @YDHR3612 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@GamingRailfanner Sorry, Not trying to slander you, A lot of what you said was just completely untrue. Especially the “not engaged meaningfully” comment about contract negotiations that have dragged on since last year with no progress from CN or CP. The issues at stake here are far bigger than watching trains. This is people’s lives and careers they’re messing with.
      The government suspended our right to strike until they decided we were “not essential” so now the clock is ticking on the 99% in favour of strike vote we had in April ( and again in June).
      TCRC is still at the table trying to bargain, but CN/CP have no interest in negotiating because they announced they will lock us out next Thursday. It’s always been “Take the company offer or else we’ll force you to take it.” That’s called bullying by Binding Arbitration.
