We have have to be careful in what we “hope “ for. Bible says, “False hope leads to a sick heart.” Proverbs 13:12 Our hope should be in trusting God he will bring that person in his timing or simply close that door. Let’s not put our hope in someone other than Christ. 💕🙏🏻
I thought it said 'hope DEFERRED makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.' And not false hope...I took it to mean that it is difficult when you are hoping for something that takes a long time to happen, but when it does happen, it is a tree of life (it brings you joy). Either way, you are right that our hope should be in trusting God :).

It is difficult to let someone we care about go, and then to realize there are not that many people in the area I live that I would even be interested. I was listening to a Rabbi speak not long ago. He was full of wisdom and he said, “Do not ask God for a man for yourself, you don’t want just a man. Instead ask God for your husband. You may not even know him, you may not have met him yet, but ask God to send Your husband, the one He has picked out for you.” Sounds like a plan to me...that’s what I’m doing. I think I will recognize him through the Holy Spirit!
Be careful with that. You may think it's your husband but it may not be. Stick to your morals, and find someone that has the same values as you and if there's something about them that makes you like them. You'll do that and you'll be good to go.
You have to be equally yoked. No matter what. Trust me, get to know his deeper heart and his characteristics and lifestyle- and ask yourself.. does it align with the word of God?

I did that for decades then I realised I was doing the wrong thing and asked God for forgiveness and that's when God revealed to me to pray for a Christian husband of exceptional spirit I knew it must have been in the bible somewhere but again I asked for forgiveness I should have known where I guessed it would be in Daniel. Here's what happened I asked God to turn the pages of the bible to the direct scripture and that's what happened without me touching the bible God flipped the pages directly to Daniel 6:3 Daniel was a Christian man of exceptional spirit I was absolutely blessed because that's what I know ask for not just a husband because I asked for that at 17 months old and got one that ended in divorce and I don't ask for a Christian husband because not all Christian men are capable of being the head and mine must be. I agree about the prayer issue. Prayer actually leads us to follow God’s will.Sometimes such thoughts are a distraction and it’s not God timing. At times God wants us to serve Him in different areas other than focusing on a relationship.

There is a line where thinking becomes, “ fantasy” God healed me of it with some hard slamming facts and Truth. I wanted and needed to live the life I had, not the one I wished I had. I agree about the second point about praying for the ex. I did that. I prayed for him point by point, all his life’s issues. And then as I examined my heart. I realized that by doing this repeatedly, it’s like I am not trusting God with this person. So I prayed to God that he is already in His hands. I had an idea to maybe try focusing on other things and putting new people in my life, but I didn't have anything to confirm if that's what I should do but it's definitely been confirmed now lol
I really appreciate the advice you give on your videos. My second marriage ended officially about a couple months ago. There are still things from this last marriage that left questions in my mind and trying to figure out how I could have made her stay. I admit, I tend to rely on other people too much and look to them to bring me happiness. Both of my ex wives after a period of time felt more like roommates with not so occasional benefits.. I tend to overthink and blame myself when I don't understand something. My first marriage ended very badly and a custody battle for our two girls ensued. After hitting rock bottom during that time and God eventually rewarding me with full custody of my girls I assured myself I would never out myself into a situation like that again. But, I tend to get lonely easily and lower my standards of what I really want. I'm a laid back guy with a big heart that loves doing the little things for whoever I'm with. My last wife was a "Christian", on a praise and worship team at her church, and on our first date even brought her Bible with her. I thought, surely this marriage will be a Biblical marriage that will last for the rest of my life! Nope. There were many trials and arguments between the two of us and I'm the end she saw the grass as being greener on the other side and did not want to work at saving our marriage. My mistake in this was instead of letting her go and retaining my dignity.. I begged her not to go, I cried in front of her laying my heart completely out there for her to see how much I wanted her to stay. With a cold, uncaring look on her face she refused to give our marriage any more of her time and chose to move out and move on. What really hurt was how fast she had appeared to move on without so much as an "I'm sorry". I told her I was sorry multiple times for any wrongs I did in our marriage and asked her to forgive me and let's please not throw our marriage away.. My words fell on deaf ears.. even tho she walked out of my life almost a year ago (dissolution wasn't completed until 2 months ago) I still have feelings for her pop up and I get mad at myself for having those feeling still for her when she clearly was completely over me. A quote I heard from Joel Osteen really encourages me during those times." If they loved you and wanted to stay, then you wouldn't be able to keep them away. " "If they freely chose to leave then they weren't meant to be in your life". So, during times were those thoughts come in I remind myself that leaving was her decision and that God has better for me! Don't hold onto feelings for someone who has none for you, you will only torment yourself needlessly. Yes, pray for them for a time, then move on. It may not be easy, but trust that God has someone for you when the time is right that be be far beyond what you could ask for! God loves you so much, and when you keep Him first He will bless greatly! Have faith and trust in Him and watch His goodness come into your life. 🙂
Thats exactly what i wanted, was a godly man to be brought into my life. But unfortunately a past man who i had not known for a long time and we hooked up. But twice he has lied , lied and done other things so am at the end of my rope. Although i love him i know he is toxic and has no intention of seeking the Lord to guide him. So right now am seekinh solace in God and askkng him to relieve me of this pain and just allow me to forgive him and he myself. Am also prahing for God fulfill my mind and heart with his peace. This year the Lord saved me from an abusive relationship, I got over it very quickly by the grace of God. The Lord has blessed me immensely for leaving that relationship. I'm preparing to be a truly Godly woman for my future husband, whoever he is. I am in a season of singleness, and my focus completely shifted to a new person. It's been nearly 8 months and my feelings have grown immensely for this one person whom I see often. I have laughed, sobbed, and prayed in response to my emotions. I get frustrated with my intense feelings and also call myself silly. Jesus is constantly reminding me, focus on the Me, for I am the Lord 💖 I have faith He will bless with a good man.

Mark this was spot on as always! I wish I watched after my break up since I swore something was wrong with me since all I could think about was my ex even when things ended on an extremely sour note. I’m not going to lie I knew the proper thing was to give it to God however that was incredibly difficult since I truly did love this person and wanted a future with her, to the point where it was unhealthy. However God’s grace and mercy prevailed I took each day as a new chance to renew my relationship with Christ and to get things right with him. It has been the hardest thing I have ever been through he abused me and would not change. I had to move states away and start over. I keep dwelling on the illusion I so desperately wanted it to be like but never was. I feel stuck in sadness. Thank you for this message.
I still remember my ex every time i go to my hometown where memories happened, she went far away and we didnt have that much closure now i have my own family but some time when i look at the places i still remember her what would life be if it was her, she also have two sons now but i will trust in the Lord Jesus and pray that my memory will be at peace and focus on the things to come.

The best way to stop thinking about somebody is to focus on yourself and to start thinking about someone else instead (superficially). I agree that there might be a limit for certain prayers because otherwise you might tend to keep being too attached to the outcome and it's only by detaching yourself from the outcome that new opportunities in life arrive.

The best advice is to focus on yourself, live your best life, go places, have fun, go to church and pray, engage in a sport activity, meet new people.

I agree about the second point about praying for the ex. I did that. I prayed for him point by point, all his life’s issues. And then as I examined my heart. I realized that by doing this repeatedly, it’s like I am not trusting God with this person. So I prayed to God that he is already in His hands. I know He is working on him and it’s time for me to focus on God and my walk with Him. 🙏🏼

My ex broke up with me over text last week (dated for a little over a month) and it's been really hard, partially because it was my first romantic relationship. After watching this, I feel like God is leading me to refocus on him and trust him and reminding me that he has a plan for me.

Wow..this is exactly what I've been looking for the answers to for the past few days. I've been wanting to know how t "not think" about my ex or things that cause me to feel hurt and I had absolutely no idea of how to deal with my thoughts and I am so thankful to God for using Mark Ballenger once again, to speak to me about what I've been going through. I had an idea to maybe try focusing on other things and putting new people in my life, but I didn't have anything to confirm if that's what I should do but it's definitely been confirmed now lol
I really appreciate the advice you give on your videos. My second marriage ended officially about a couple months ago. There are still things from this last marriage that left questions in my mind and trying to figure out how I could have made her stay. I admit, I tend to rely on other people too much and look to them to bring me happiness. Both of my ex wives after a period of time felt more like roommates with not so occasional benefits.. I tend to overthink and blame myself when I don't understand something. My first marriage ended very badly and a custody battle for our two girls ensued. After hitting rock bottom during that time and God eventually rewarding me with full custody of my girls I assured myself I would never out myself into a situation like that again. But, I tend to get lonely easily and lower my standards of what I really want. I'm a laid back guy with a big heart that loves doing the little things for whoever I'm with. My last wife was a "Christian", on a praise and worship team at her church, and on our first date even brought her Bible with her. I thought, surely this marriage will be a Biblical marriage that will last for the rest of my life! Nope. There were many trials and arguments between the two of us and I'm the end she saw the grass as being greener on the other side and did not want to work at saving our marriage. My mistake in this was instead of letting her go and retaining my dignity.. I begged her not to go, I cried in front of her laying my heart completely out there for her to see how much I wanted her to stay. With a cold, uncaring look on her face she refused to give our marriage any more of her time and chose to move out and move on. What really hurt was how fast she had appeared to move on without so much as an "I'm sorry". I told her I was sorry multiple times for any wrongs I did in our marriage and asked her to forgive me and let's please not throw our marriage away.. My words fell on deaf ears.. even tho she walked out of my life almost a year ago (dissolution wasn't completed until 2 months ago) I still have feelings for her pop up and I get mad at myself for having those feeling still for her when she clearly was completely over me. A quote I heard from Joel Osteen really encourages me during those times." If they loved you and wanted to stay, then you wouldn't be able to keep them away. " "If they freely chose to leave then they weren't meant to be in your life". So, during times were those thoughts come in I remind myself that leaving was her decision and that God has better for me! Don't hold onto feelings for someone who has none for you, you will only torment yourself needlessly. Yes, pray for them for a time, then move on. It may not be easy, but trust that God has someone for you when the time is right that be be far beyond what you could ask for! God loves you so much, and when you keep Him first He will bless greatly! Have faith and trust in Him and watch His goodness come into your life. 🙂

Thats exactly what i wanted, was a godly man to be brought into my life. But unfortunately a past man who i had not known for a long time and we hooked up. But twice he has lied , lied and done other things so am at the end of my rope. Although i love him i know he is toxic and has no intention of seeking the Lord to guide him. So right now am seekinh solace in God and askkng him to relieve me of this pain and just allow me to forgive him and he myself. Am also prahing for God fulfill my mind and heart with his peace. This year the Lord saved me from an abusive relationship, I got over it very quickly by the grace of God. The Lord has blessed me immensely for leaving that relationship. I'm preparing to be a truly Godly woman for my future husband, whoever he is. I am in a season of singleness, and my focus completely shifted to a new person. It's been nearly 8 months and my feelings have grown immensely for this one person whom I see often. I have laughed, sobbed, and prayed in response to my emotions. I get frustrated with my intense feelings and also call myself silly. Jesus is constantly reminding me, focus on the Me, for I am the Lord 💖 I have faith He will bless with a good man.
Thank you for this awesome video! Filling my life with things above is how God got me through a break up. Embracing my Singleness with walking in His ways daily, moment by moment to live my life according to His will. Building a great support group is another way to stop thinking of your Ex too. 🙏🏻😇♥️👌🏻

I still miss her. Well, I know it is so silly to still thinking of my crush who rejected me because I offended her twice, But it is almost a year and I cannot resist. I just want to greet her even only in the pictures. I say to the Lord that if she is the right person, then give me hints and teach me more maturity attitudes to become a better person with her but if she is not, then I beg Him badly to lead me to the right woman as He mold me to become the right man. 😢

He always be in your hart, but he would want you to move on and be happy. I lost my love after 24 years, but I knew him lije one person together, but I still need to live my life and be happy he would want you to be.
I had two disastrous relationships a long time ago. Neither of them turned out to be believers. My inability to discern the truth left me emotionally devastated! I will never see them again as both moved 3000 miles away. I decided to stop searching for a marriage partner and that was all she wrote!
Mark this was spot on as always! I wish I watched after my break up since I swore something was wrong with me since all I could think about was my ex even when things ended on an extremely sour note. I’m not going to lie I knew the proper thing was to give it to God however that was incredibly difficult since I truly did love this person and wanted a future with her, to the point where it was unhealthy. However God’s grace and mercy prevailed I took each day as a new chance to renew my relationship with Christ and to get things right with him. I still think of this person time to time, however I’m ok with it and exited to meet someone else and what’s in store for my future.

I think it’s quite sad that you can have strong feelings for someone and all it takes is for someone new to enter your life and those same strong feelings you had for the last person can just be given to the next person. It’s interesting how the heart can be so easily swayed.

It has been the hardest thing I have ever been through he abused me and would not change. I had to move states away and start over. I keep dwelling on the illusion I so desperately wanted it to be like but never was. I feel stuck in sadness. Thank you for this message.

I still remember my ex every time i go to my hometown where memories happened, she went far away and we didnt have that much closure now i have my own family but some time when i look at the places i still remember her what would life be if it was her, she also have two sons now but i will trust in the Lord Jesus and pray that my memory will be at peace and focus on the things to come.
Very very very hard to make that decision to move on, but I know this new connection is going to last and its real.
One of the things I’ve been worried about is why I haven’t made any progress in stopping my thoughts about this guy since we ended (4 months ago). It literally feels like it just happened. I’ve not only prayed about it but I’ve also taken action-removed him from social media, deleted his contact, texts & pictures. I’m still not dating anyone else bc no one has come along who’s sparked my interest. I am very open to dating someone else but I can’t force a connection. The ppl I’ve tried to date have honestly just made me think of him more. It’s been frustrating and honestly a bit tormenting being in the space. I feel like i’m taking the right steps but i’m stuck here. I need some serious prayer!
I just prayed for you. I'm in the same boat. Single for over 5 years, going about my life, being in the Word, good attitude despite wasting all my time with the wrong guy but no one came along to divert my attention off of him. May God change the landscape of our lives so we can connect with the one He deems is right for us.

The best way to stop thinking about somebody is to focus on yourself and to start thinking about someone else instead (superficially). I agree that there might be a limit for certain prayers because otherwise you might tend to keep being too attached to the outcome and it's only by detaching yourself from the outcome that new opportunities in life arrive.
