- Focus stacking combines several images of a different focus into one final image that has all parts in focus. Here I show you how to do this using stereo microscopy.

🔬 How to do focus stacking | Amateur Microscopy - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Literally every time I look up a new microscopy technique I find one of your friendly videos, have a good day!
nice video
I used Picolay many years ago when I was working as a naturalist at a local salt marsh nature center, performing many microscope classes and training sessions - it worked very well
Thank you, loved the video and the process! With something such as a focus motor control, you could make it more consistent.
HELICON FOCUS!
Hey, nice video. I had tried image stacking for astrophotography. I had a good feeling that it could be used in microscopy as well. Thanks for the clarification : )
good job with this channel. my microscope arrived and I (mostly) knew what to do to get started. bout to try stacking some photos I made
excellent tutorial. Thank you
Thank you Oliver!
Great stuff
Can you make a video on gooseneck illuminaters?
This is my next challenge.
hello is the combine zp apart of the toup app or is it a free app somewhere else
Too many pictures. Sometimes as few as 5 from the list (every fifth picture) will give better results than 60 images! I have never seen where over 20 images are needed. Some of the best microscope images on the net were made with only 5 frames combined. 10 to 20 seems to be the sweet spot. Very nice video to help getting started.
can you please help me with toupview. I see when you click on exposer, that a green box appears, just like the one in your video. would you know why do I NOT see this box come up. I'm trying to get it to work on white balance, but it don't show up for me. the only time I ever see any kind of box is if I go up to the top menu bar, and click on grey calibration. that is the only spot in the entire program where I do get a box to appear for calibration. I am using the latest version of ToupView, and ZZcat 5.0MP camera, SCMOS05000KPA usb 2.0 and 1/2.5" aptina cmos I am new to microscopy, and I just want to learn... thank you. and keep them videos of your coming, I love watching many of these.
Hi, great video! I was wondering if you know of any other options that can achieve a similar result for the Digital Photo Professional 4 software? I use a Canon Rebel d6 attached to my microscope and have been exploring different options for photo stacking. I was looking at WeMacro's micromate option for automating adjustment of the focus knobs on my microscopes, but then I found this video and this seems like a much cheaper and easier option. However, I can't seem to find a similar feature in DPP4 that allows an continuous capture process like the one you demonstrated here with the Time-lapse (auto capture) feature you demonstrate in ToupView. I've also tried finding a way to install ToupView, but it seems like the only option to download it on my mac is from the Apple Store where it says it is designed for iPad.
Long story short, I'm looking for a similar feature in DPP4. Do you know if that exists and if so, how to utilize it?
How did you get the blueish background behind the wasp? Thanks for the great video.
It's actually a white piece of paper that looks blue because of the low light.
Hi,, The Toupview program I downloaded will not detect my camera??
Which one is better, sw380b or sw380t? And do they have darkfield, phrase contrast etc.?
the b is binocular and the t has a phototube. So this is better for taking pictures. They do NOT have phase constrast (this would be much more expensive and other brands) and darkfield can be done by making a filter yourself.
hy I'm from Indonesia. I would like to ask you. what microscope lens (objective) is suitable for macro photography?
For macro you have two options: get a macro photography lens (lower magnifications) or a stereo microscope (higher magnifications). For photomicrography you need a compound microscope (still higher magnification of transparent objects)
I'm trying to download CombineZP. What I keep getting is File name: combinezp.msi, which is a word document.
How can I get the program for stacking?
btw, I had no trouble getting the Picolay installation program.
the msi document is actually an installation file. Word should not open it.
@@MicrobehunterMicroscopy -- Thank you Oliver. It downloaded as "combineZP.msi.doc", which seemed quite strange. Word *did* open the file, which was mostly gibberish. :D I've got it working fine, now. ;)
not sure if its just me, but the camera link comes up as infected with trojan
It's you
@@jimkelley1000 ok. thx 🖒
you mean for the "Summit SK2-5.2X 5.0MP PC/MAC"? Yeah I didn't get anything either :/ might want to check the antivirus settings
Shurly microfotografie and stacking today makes no sense because we can easyly make excelen t moovies,
Can you give away any microscope that is not useful to you now.. please 🥺🥺
