According to this statement; Sponsor overseas workers for permanent residence under the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visa program. Workers must have at least two years of full time work experience in Australia in a relevant direct care occupation. The two years of work experience is not tied to a particular employer or visa subclass.

Hi Chloe, yes it is a lot easier to find an employer willing to sponsor you if you are living and working for the company in Aus. A student or WHV is a great visa to allow you to do this

I read the immigration website, and I believe the answer is yes according to this: If you are a temporary substantive visa holder and apply for a COVID-19 Pandemic event visa on or after 21 February 2022, you may be eligible for this visa if, at time of application, you: - arrive in Australia on or after 21 February 2022 and have work rights on your substantive visa; or - have a job offer from a Commonwealth funded aged care service, even if you do not have work rights on your current substantive visa. I previously had a working holiday visa with an Irish passport which expired on June 2023. I will be applying for my second year holiday visa so I can activate it from July 1. As per the video, if you have a Cert 3 qualification, can you directly apply for PR without the need of work experience? Kindly clarify?

I believe your employer can nominate you for the 186 after 2 years.

Hi mate, while we do not offer RPL, you can undergo RPL if you did have at least 2 years experience as an individual support staff.

If you can find a company to sponsor you it may be possible. However, it is very difficult to find a company that may be willing to sponsor you.

Hi Aged Care workers can get sponsored, but it must be through a labour agreement. And it will usually always be the 482 first
