Sponsor overseas workers for the Temporary Skill Shortage (subclass 482) visa in direct care occupations such as:
Nursing Support Worker
Personal Care Assistant
Aged or Disabled Carer
You need to have made recent and genuine attempts to recruit workers from the domestic workforce pool.
Sponsor overseas workers for permanent residence under the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visa program. Workers must have at least two years of full time work experience in Australia in a relevant direct care occupation. The two years of work experience is not tied to a particular employer or visa subclass.
If it’s not tied to a particular visa subclass . So it means what it’s very confusing?
Hi Tracy, thank you for providing such valuable information. However, I have a question that comes to mind: Does the student need to have 2 years of experience in order to apply for the 482 visa? Or does it mean that either the student's studies or work experience would suffice to apply for this visa?

Oh Union, oh Union… why they demand involvement in this… I don’t have good feelings for this Labor agreement, especially since it’s Union who opposes Labor market testing when shortage is projected to be 400,000 by 2050.
I hope at some point Union can be thrown out of negotiation table, otherwise they are gonna scream too many workers long before industry Labor shortage starts to ease.
The company that I’m working for is willing to sponsor me but they couldn’t make the labour agreement. It is a home care business community. Can you help with this?
I think you giving missing or false information. This is what I found in DHA website, “The two years of work experience is not tied to a particular employer or visa subclass”. Could you please correct this?
Does this mean it doesnt matter which visa we are in , casual or permanent , we just need to work fulltime hours / week . Right!!

Hi Tracy, thanks for the info, what I have in mind is that for instance the employer already agreed to sponsor 482 visa and with labor agreement signed, then after 2 years working with employer and the time to apply for 186 visa, is there a guarantee that employer will participate with the 186 visa because he/she signed the labor agreement at the start of the employment? or still the employer is not required or have the right to refuse?
hi Traci, is this only for overseas?? How about those who are onshore and hold a relevant AQF Certificate III or equivalent, or higher qualification.or have 12 months of relevant work experience or part time equivalence in lieu of the qualification...

Is this applicable also to a public hospital in remote area in NSW where there is also aged care dept?
