Unrecord is a tactical shooter where players can expect an immersive and narrative experience. It would be cool if there was a stress feature where when you're in combat or an otherwise "stressful" situation- your actions could mess up like you slip when you're trying to reload or you trip cause you're not worried about where you're stepping

Wow!! Being a cameraman I noticed how the auto exposure goes up and down on the bodycam, depending what light source is pointing at the camera...i like those details in reality put into a game, it was a matter of time till we saw this level of realism, well done to the developers.... Looks good! It did look even more realistic in the first teasers but that ofcourse makes sense giving they wanted to release the best looking footage I presume. Either way I'm following development!
The first footage was also compressed a bit by twitter, which could have been responsible for adding even more to the realistic feel. It's always harder to see imperfections when a video's been crushed to pieces.

Looks REALLY good. The decision to blur faces probably helps a lot with getting closer to photorealism.
I think one of the biggest weaknesses in bridging the gap to perfect immersion in realism is the way death is handled. In this game, they either ragdoll, or ragdoll partially and roll around a little before stopping. Watch people die on actual police cam footage and you'll note that people almost always die very slowly. Only time people drop instantly is with headshots. Only time people fall down and flop for a few seconds before dying is with a heart shot. Anywhere else, you're gonna have someone dying for a few minutes, probably groaning until they pass.
Bridge that gap, and I think this game will become disturbingly realistic.

@@grizzliesgaming493 I like immersion. Also I've been exposed to a large amount of police body cam footage, so details like how people react to getting shot are jarring when it's handled in classic goofy video game ragdoll fashion in a game that is otherwise shooting for perfect photorealism.

Looks good! sometimes are visible worse textures (Limited by 3d scanned objects) but light is really good.
3D scanning is not a limitation if things are scanned properly.

Unreal Engine 5 at its finest. UE5 makes it so realistic that people have a hard time differentiating between graphics and live-action, imagine what Unreal Engine 6 is going to do.

Nah the final phase is getting this onto VR and also to have face graphics that are realistic. The reason this game blurs the faces it out is because it is nearly impossible for game devs to make realistic looking faces with expressions in a video game

@@igorz4582 No, not "always" go further. There will come a time when graphics are truly indistinguishable from the real world, including human faces, complete with expressions. As human vision has a fixed resolution, it would be pointless trying to create graphics that exceed this level as it wouldn't be possible to experience it. When that point is reached, it truly is 'GAME OVER'.

The reason this game utilizes it is because it's trying to replicate the POV of body cam footage, it's a "found footage game" basically
That doesn't translate into games like Uncharted or Far Cry as coherently as you prolly think it is because those games aren't tryna convince you what you're looking at is real footage
They are doing this, Except since the video games they are making have much more features and much more content they have to compromise on the graphics a little

Me encantaría que todos los juegos de este tipo tirasen por este camino, aunque no necesariamente con una cámara pegada al pecho pero que podamos ver desde los ojos del personaje de manera más realista y lo que realmente ve esa persona. Un juego de terror tipo Outlast con este nivel de realismo tiene que ser de las experiencias más inmersivas, imagina en VR

I dont think the devs behind this game have any intentions to use these techniques to make a profound piece of art, from what I've seen they're mostly just into the tech-bro side of it.
Still, however, it's another stylistic option in developer's tool kits, and rarely if ever at all is there a piece of art that appeals to everyone. Art is exclusionary; some people play a game like Hotline Miami and get weirded out or uncomfortable and it turns them off, some people experience the same emotions and it becomes their favourite game ever.

It looks really good. But it looks more like im looking through a vr headset rather than a bodycam. I was checking my own vr gameplay in fps games. this and the camera movement, angling, everything is really similar. But it actually looks like youre looking through the character's right eye rather than a body cam or even a gopro.
Looking from someones chest would be highly disorienting. But getting replay footrage from a more realistic bodycam could be dope.
Did you guys use photogrammetry for this? This is a pretty incredible achievement.

Amazing. Looks fantastic. Does anyone think that FPS games could get too realistic with the gore side of things and be too graphic? If it does, I feel it would be unhealthy to see these things and really desensitizes people to violence. I love FPS games, but I don't want to be sniping and watch a head explode that is so realistic that you can't tell the difference from the real thing. Or even playing in a house with kids, can you imagine how traumatizing it could be if they see that?
I didn't even think about this until I saw your comment. That's an excellent point that's worth investigating.
To be honest I'm not too keen on playing it. Sure I'll play it anyway, but the thought of photorealistically killing people isn't too appealing to me. In "normal" shooters what you're doing is clearly contained within a virtual environment. It can be super immersive, but you're still inside the game. In this case that distinction isn't really there anymore, or it has become very blurry. Of course you *know* it's a game, but I don't think your synapses are able to distinct as easily.
remember in the 90s conservative politicians were decrying how realistic the violence was in video games? You're now a conservative politician and it only took 23-25 years
To be fair, I feel a large portion of the world is very desensitized to gore and extreme violence.

@@iflexbasketballit’s not though. Both of the game uses some premade maps/asset from the unreal store. Almost all of bodycam asset and map are premade in the unreal store. Body cam is multiplayer and unrecorded is single player
