I was there yesterday too! Wanted to say "hey" but didn't want to bother you either. You briefly set up across from me. It was interesting to me to watch you and Mike read the water and sight fish for pods of active fish!! Great job on those Browns!!
+Tom Btot it didnt seem like there was that many fish ( salmon ) this year ,some guys are content to flail away at areas that are totally devoid of fish. hope we didnt crowd you out
Nice, cool to see you guys getting salmon like that this time of year, our run is pretty much finished in southern ON. Been getting a few steelhead here and there, hopefully it'll be a good year!
Nice vid guys!. Was there a week n half ago for three days, water was same conditions. really tore up browns n salmon on the trout bead. Them stupid plastic balls sure do work dont they!. Best of luck on ur next fishin trip, Fish On!
Not at all Bill! And I hear ya on that one. I walk the banks/stream to see what I can see and sometimes just want to say " hey buddy there's NO FISH there !! But they I see it the more people that are doing that the better opportunities I have!!!;)
The run has definitely been behind schedule this year. It seems to be picking up a little now but not in the numbers of previous years. Hoping our steelhead season fairs a little better. Maybe ill see you guys at the spot near the house sometime.
As many fish as there are in Oak Orchard and Burt, I don't fish these areas until the winter because of how many people "fish" for trout. I love watching these videos because you respect the fish by trying to catch them, not snag them. It drives me crazy when I see fish being brought in by their tail or pec fins and then people claiming that they caught the fish. Sure, snags happen, especially when you are bottom bouncing or jigging through a pool with lots of fish stacked up. But it's the massive hooks with "yarn" tied to them that really bother me. Thanks for respecting the area, Bill! Love the videos. Cheers from Canada.
Im not from around the area but recently came to buffalo. Where is this, or where would you recommend for some good brown trout or steelhead fishing right now? thanks
hey get some spider wire it will get u up to 10 to 15 lb test with out sacrificing weight of line diameter! rly helps on those big guys, cuz u can turn your drag up!
+Bill Bell thanks man - we usually park over on park ave on the side of rd there by the trail but if thers no spots the old guy with the lot charges 2 bucks to park in the grass lot
