Great comparison video man! Very informative, especially for us noobs :) Just getting started in long range and plan to do some PRS in the future. Have an MPA 300 PRC on the way and trying to decide on glass so this was really helpful seeing your 1st hand experience and opinions. Based on other info I saw I'm looking at the MK5, the Zeiss and the Athlon Cronus BTK GenII UHD. Decisions, decisions!
Great review man. I'm in the process of messing around with the LRP S3 in 4-25 vs. the Burris XTR Pro to see whether or not I want to upgrade my Pro and another older scope. I've already mostly done my initial comparison, but watching your video gave me some more ideas on how to put them up against each other.
Always enjoy your scope reviews, C5. Do you still intend to do a report on the ZCO 840 that you mentioned at The Hide? No one has ever done one that I know of so would be cool if you are the 1st. The ZCO 840 vs TT 7-35 would be really awesome! 👍
@@Sagittariustoo editing a ZCO 840 vs March 5-42 video now. I don’t have a TT 7-35 unfortunately and don’t have the resources at the moment to spend $5k on one myself. I’ll see if there’s something I can do tho to try to make that happen.
Great review and comparison. I just started my bolt action journey and bought this Zeiss for $2000 "like new" from EuroOptic. Should get it tomorrow. I also feel like I got the best "bang for the buck" in this price range that gives me an option for production. Plus, I'm an old dude (54) with aging eyes so hopefully that reticle works well for me. 😂
I have the S5 525 and S3 636, have a few buddies with ZCO 527 and 840 as well as Kahles k328. In all fairness, I cannot see any difference in image quality between a S5, ZCo and the Kahles, but the image size in the S5 is smaller than the two which is a bit annoying. I can see a small difference to the S3 but in all honesty I dont know if its enough difference to make a difference, but the price difference is crazy. And the S3 only T8 torx for elevation, zerostop and windage. The S5 has a T8 elevation and T6 windage which is retarded, the T6 is also way too easy to round if you are at all hasty
Are you sure about your turret screws on S3? Just asking because I have two 636 models and one 425 model and they all use only the T8 like stated on the manual for both models. However S5 models do have the dum two different size screws
@@linkchen8245 man I know I felt bad with how long it came out. Next video might have to be a Part 1 and 2 instead. I really appreciate you making it through tho! yes there’s the XTR 3 and XTR Pro. In my experience I would not put it as high as as these 2 on the list of $2,500 and under scopes.
Great review many thanks. Have you looked at the Zeiss S5 5-25?. And if so how much better is it than the S3?. Is it worth the extra money?. Also have you looked at the Valdada G2 Recon and if so how does this compare to others in this class?.
You sir have the best scope reviews! Everything I need to know and very insightful to competitors. On a side note, I do see a lot of peoole in rimfire using MK5's and now I really wonder why.
S3 all day long, tracks, holds zero, returns to zero, great illum, better FOV, better glass, better reticle that actually is useable at 4x. Cons: turret is a bit tall and its heavy. Leup is notorious for not holding zero and that alone is a deal breaker for me, seen it too many times.
Mine does yea. Took 10th place at a 2 day last month with it. The 7-35’s had early tracking issues but haven’t heard anything with regards to the 5-25.
@@Covertnoob5 Good to hear. I have heard really bad horror stories. My wife and I run the Production class. She runs the ESR PMR Pro and I run the Matrix Pro. We both run the Bushnell XRS3 with the EQL reticle.
Thanks for the solid and in depth review!

Look forward to the ZCO 840 vs March video as I'm a fan of March scopes also.
Nice video Covert, I am definitely leaning toward getting this Zeiss. How would you say the Zeiss compares to a NX8?

This was an unexpected comparison, which is cool. One I used to see people debating is Zeiss S3 6-36 vs Razor 6-36. That seems to have died down.
@@jimothy-johnson G3 is better than the S3. Have both. But they also aren’t in the same price bracket. These 2 are that’s why I did them.

Where would you stack the gen 3 vortex here?
Better than both as it’s a tier 1 optic.
is there an improvement in optical quality between the MK25 5-2 and 7-35?
