The big 3 are absolutely amazing, the plot and world building of one piece, the philosophy and emotional connect in naruto, and bleach's amazing character designs and characters(imo) They all have each of these aspects but this is where I believe each series stands out.
i totally agree with you there is world building in naruto that is awesome, but one piece did it even better, and there is philosophy and emotional connection with one piece, but naruto did it even better i love bleach but as these two, i love hunter more, still an absolutely great serious though that i loved
I love the characters of Bleach as well Kubo might be the one out of the mangakas of the big three who focuses the least on how characters feel but characters from Bleach always felt much more like real people than the other two since characters like Kyoraku Mayuri and even Ichigo at key mature moments tend to feel more three-dimensional like they have this depth to them with the weight of a real person moments like when Ichigo finds out that his father lied to him all his life any other character would have demanded awnsers but he just says that "he won't ask but instead wait for his father to feel like it's time to understand" he is showing a much bigger degree of maturity than you would usually expect from a shounen character since they tend to react to situations by falling into the usual troupes but despite Bleach focusing the least on storytelling than One Piece or Naruto when it actually happens it manages to surprise me the most because the maturity and complexity of the characters in these particular moments is not that of a regular shounen and that's not the only time when he realizes that Soul Society had been monitoring him on the Lost Agent Arc he also behaves the same making it clear to me that the character in that moment is being used and portrayed like more than just in the way the plot needs him to be at that moment but it's also telling us about how Ichigo is as a person in a very subtle but realistic way that is showing him more as a person of his own and less than in the familiar and predictable way most other shounen do it Mayuri (Kubo's favorite character) is also incredibly interesting in his own way despite being entirely mad and is one of these few characters in Bleach you come to enjoy despite him being portrayed as such a piece of shit without ever having been given the "cool" and charismatics elements most villains use to make us love them personality-wise Mayuri is nothing but flaws yet he remains interesting perhaps precisely because he isn't what we want him to be the character is just himself from beginning to end Kyoraku is in my opinion the perfect middle ground he's a grey character and never goes too much one way or the other so we never really get to know the entirety of who Kyoraku is we know he has this amicable side to him but he also has a deeper more sinister side he hides under this other side of himself and at times you feel how the amicable side is ultimately just a facade in battle yet he's usually such a nice guy that i as a viewer can never see him as a bad guy and same as the other two he's consistent with this too i remember getting that impression of him when i read the Fake Karakura Arc but then in TYBW he made it clear to me that he had no illusions or aspirations of justice and what's right as many other Gotei members do i remember him saying "that its pointless to blame in side or the other because once war breaks out both sides are evil" for me this phrase encompasses perfectly how all wars in Bleach are since none of the parties involved are more good nor bad than the other one ( as opposed to Naruto and One Piece where despite no side being 100% one thing or the other the Balance is almost always tilted plot-wise so that the protagonist feels like he's in the right in this aspect Bleach is actually the total opposite of the other big three because of how fucked up the roots and foundation of Soul Society is and these aren't even my favorite Bleach characters lol
@@Force-Multiplier Same thoughts, the color black and white even comes out not only on the manga panels but with the story. The theme of Bleach bleaching the concept of black and white, showing us that the world is not about who's wrong or right, since all these morals and justice is lost in the chaotic world where lots of people with different ideas and beliefs lives
I think anime fans nowadays are forcing themselves to have a "new Big 3" in Jump. That doesn't really make much sense. The labelling of the Big 3 came at a very specific point in the rise to anime's mainstream status in the West. Its designation is limited to that specific time and can't really be replicated.
the big 3 are just so incredibly hard to replicate. Not only are they series that would define the entirety of shonen by themselves, they also managed to happen all around the same time and stood at the pinnacle of the genre. Its like trying to create a new big 3 superheroes (batman, superman and spider-man) its nearly impossible and would require a lot of events to converge to cause it again. Sure there are amazing shows now that can stand next to or atleast rival individual big 3 members, like mha and jujutsu kaisen, but you can't top the big 3 as a collective and try to make lightning strike 2x. But maybe that's not so bad. After all, this just means people can get interested in a more diverse range of anime and not just 3 big ones, and we can look back on the big 3 era as a miracle that will forever stay legendary.
I think an argument can be made for Demon Slayer and MHA but the current Gen falls short for a third big consistent and highly popular series. Maybe Tokyo Revengers or Jujutsu Kaisen but I feel like they aren’t quite at the same level as the other two.
The Big Three were a Monolith. They towered over the competition with a sense of inevitability, as if they would always be there. And even though Bleach and Naruto have ended their original runs they have secured themselves as legends because of how unstoppable they were in their prime.
the big 3 were just on a whole other level from every other manga at the time. If I was to compare it to something, its similar to how superman, batman and spider-man completely dominate every other superhero in terms of popularity and recognizability. Its only lucky that we got all 3 of these shows around the same time.
Remember when One Piece failed compared to Yugioh & Pokémon's popularity in America during the 2000s? The Big 3 aren't infallible & had conditions been different other series could have ended up as the Big 3. As for Super Heroes, Wonder Woman is nearly at the Superman & Batman level of popularity with her being DC's iconic 3rd Place Hero. Spiderman will of course always be Marvel's Greatest Hero though.
It just upsets me people wants Bleach out the Big 3. In a similar fashion Hell's Paradise for the Dark Trio as well. I felt all three series in both trios earned their place.
I remember when it was cool to hate on anime for a while at my school, but then those same people would watch something like Naruto and fall in love with the genre. Proves how a single series can change peoples point of views.
I know people that still hate anime, and a prolific marvel fans. And now look at how their MCU has turned out. 😼 I only heard complaints from them while anime watcher keeps eating good.
Maybe not quite on the level of the big 3 but still very great and future legendary Mangas I'd recommend once you've caught up with One Piece are: One Punch Man Boku no Hero Academia Kengan Ashura/Omega
I’m 39 and started watching One Piece about 18 months ago. Mostly because I’m into sci fi and fantasy and a Fantasy TH-camr I follow was suddenly going on about how life changing One Piece is. It was my first anime. I did not expect to get hooked. I honestly don’t know what I expected. I ran out of English dub and switched to Japanese somewhere around Wholecake Island. Then I ran out of anime and switched to manga. Then I caught up with the manga and have read it week to week since late last year. Never would I have imagined that I would become a weekly manga fan. One Piece is legitimately one of the best stories I’ve ever read/followed. Left wanting more, I branched out. Attack on Titan was amazing but I got through it in a blink, so I recently turned to Naruto. I’m only about 30 episodes in but I’m absolutely loving it. I can see that so much of the world building and emotional depth that I love in One Piece is here too and I’m so excited to watch this new vast story unfold.
Hope you enjoy yourself man! There's plenty of Anime/Manga out there for you to still experience which I'm sure you'll love! Really hoping you'll end up loving Naruto since it's my favourite!
Another thing I love about Bleach's manga is the poetic sense put into it. And the poems Kubo adds in some chapter. Some of my favorite poems: (parapgrasing) : Aizen's poem about the flower at the end of the cliff being beautiful as we stop moving forward and look at the flower admiring it living at the edge in whicb we can't step into : Inoue's poem about wanting to become the rain, since if the rain can connect the sky and the earth, can she connect two hearts together? : Gin's poem to Rangiku : Ulquiorr's "The Lust" chapter talking about the heart
After all this years, I can watch these series and have the same giddiness I had as a kid. Ichigo donning his Hollow mask, Naruto swiping his hand to form a Rasengan, Luffy stretching his arm and a mile behind him to prepare for a punch - it still hits.
When I was 12 I was obsessed with Naruto and Bleach but never gave One Piece as much as a fair shot as the others, but now at age 30 i'm taking the time to watch that too because I wanted to see what made it so good. I'm in alabasta arc now and loving it!
the thing i love about ichigo/bleach is that instead of having that mc that is funny like luffy, goku, naruto etc. ichigo is such a chill character which makes me love him so much Lmao
That momento in manga history when the big three were are the top of the game was such a great time to be a fan. Many new mangakas wanted to star a series on those years, but the popularity and quality of those three creators (i would like to include the Arakawa's Full Metal Alchemist as the fourth big) was just so over the top that it was hard to compete. What a great retrospective! For me, Naruto is my favorite too of the three, I consider it more of a friend that a series. Reading it weekly was just like catching up with a great friend that anybody else. I can relate so much with you of not having anyone on school to relate. Thank you so much for this!
Thanks so much for sharing your own story! I feel like a lot of us that grew up with the big 3 had very similar experiences, it's really crazy yet interesting! So glad you liked the video! The big 3 are very close to my heart, so I'm glad you think I did this topic surrounding them justice 😊
In short, the big 3 are a major part of why anime and manga series became as popular as they are now and that's not something you can say about newer series. There probably won't ever be another big 3 so give these series the appreciation they deserve.
I would argue that Pokémon, Sailor Moon, & DBZ were the 3 most important series in regards to making anime popular in America. The Big 3 didn't really air until halfway through the 2000s. Before that there were Zatch Bell & Yugioh which were insanely popular! Pokémon's success carried into Yugioh, while Sailor Moon & DBZ were what made Toonami popular & introduce several series.
I only started getting into bleach and one piece recently, and I'm blown away. I definitely regret not getting into them before. I love how you explained each series and I also really like the animated panels. Super neat video °~°
Man I remember so well in 2008 I walked into a bookstore in the closest city to my small town and a guy there said "do you like comic books?" And I said "yeah" and he handed me vol 1 of Bleach and Naruto. I begged my mom to sign me up for shonen jump and today I have a library of close to 700 volumes of manga
when i was in college, bleach and death note were the biggest influences for teenagers getting into anime. We were all addicted to dark concepts, edgy characters and my chemical romance back in those days lol
I grew up with Naruto and Bleach and I’m currently catching up to the One Piece manga and I can see why they were so popular and dominate in the anime and manga industry, there’s so much to love and appreciate about them as a series and they all have a huge impact on my taste in anime in general
I remember when Dragon Ball Z was around before One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto. Some people thought that Full Metal Alchemist or Fairy Tail would join the big three. It is interesting to see how more modern anime like My Hero Academia/One Punch Man, Demon Slayer/Jujitsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan/Death Note, Hunter X Hunter/Yu Yu Hakusho, 7 Deadly Sins/Boruto, Rosario + Vampire, Shaman King/Soul Eater, Avatar, and RWBY stack up against them.
I Started watching anime in 2018 (really late I am 16 btw ) I knew big three but never watched them , after completing like a 100 anime I Watched one piece for the first time I was blown away by its amazing world building and I decided to watch bleach I was again blown away with its soo good transformations,, but I didn't watch naruto cause idk why where ever i go people bad mouth natuto,, I avoided watching naruto for a long time but I thought why not give it a try .... it was my 250th anime ,,, I ...... I don't have enough words to describe it , Naruto was my favorite anime , I could feel each and every character, every line , every emotion , I could really connect into naruto , naruto vs Sasuke final battle is my favorite anime battle of ALL time , even after completing close to 800 anime still this date naruto is my favorite anime , followed by one pejce and bleach , these 3 anime are legendary and iconic and will always be no new anime can take their place , yes the current anime reaches a wider audience, has better animation but it can never be what these three series were . Thank you soo much for making this video, I really HOPE IT gets recommended to a lot more people and they come across these 3 masterpieces.
Amv’s‘s literally gave me reasons why I like the music I love today! I have tried finding many of the older Amv’s I listened too. Music that really blew my mind as a kid… Because the videos have been deleted I shall never hear that music again :/
incredible video bro, editing was absolutely stunning and the big 3 was a great topic to discuss. like you said, there will never be another big 3 nor will the big 3 ever change and i find that really cool for the fact we were able to witness the defining moments in anime history
I followed Naruto and One Piece since 2004 but only watched Bleach in 2016. The things that I immediately think about if I compare these three: Bleach: the spiritual side Naruto: the traditional themes One Piece: the gigantic world-building Though I totally love all three of them and can totally understand they are the favourites of many they aren´t my personal favourites (FMA and HxH for me). But they are stories you can come back to all the time!
Wow your coverage of how the mediums we consume anime from changed its impact is something brilliant. Such a great video man, props. I can see the effort there. :D
Seeing how MHA JJK and BC are all in their final saga it's a bit sad to know that we'll probably never get another long shonen like Bleach or Naruto again. Once OP ends it'll truly be the end of an era
My anime and manga journey began with the Big 3. I started watching them in 2008 on Toonami (and other ways). Bleach and One Piece contend to be my favorite; however, Naruto is equally good. Is there some nostalgia for the Big 3? Of course, but that doesn't mean they were bad series or overrated. I'm grateful that my anime and manga journey began when it did. It's still strange to see how mainstream anime and manga are today. I remember having to hide manga in school or else people would ridicule me. If you have not read or watched the Big 3, try it! It's a piece of history and the stories are simply incredible. Fantastic video btw!
Great video, these big three series are one of my favorites, back in the day they were & still are giants in the anime/manga medium. Appreciate your analysis on them.
Im just happy BLEACH is getting the love and care it deserved and very much needed. It ended so abruptly with no closure unlike how Naruto had aged so well and still continues to pump out content, One piece is also still going strong with a lot of support. Bleach became something people targeted and hated as the weakest of the 3. It wasnt, it s just it didnt get the same of similar opportunities as the other 2 did. I am happy TYBW animation has been a success and opened peoples eyes as to why it was regarded as one of the big 3
It feels like Bleach seems to be something you appreciate much more once you grow up. I always liked it during its publication but like you too said I thought it was the "weakest" of the three. But now I've finally hit 30 and holy hell do the characters connect so much more in adulthood. I will never forget Naruto and I still read and adore One Piece but DAMN the adult vibe and sheer style Bleach delivers with each chapter and every episode is something the other two just can't bring to the table
@@DrewX86 thats understandable, some may enjoy it more then the others and of course it is not without its flaws just as the others but there a reason why it was considered top 3. It was a solid good long journey with each 3 excelling in something that differentiates between them. The fandoms should all appreciate each one for for what eac3 one offered and in turn brought forth new anime/manga who took inspiration from it. If only it wasnt so hated on but at long last Bleach finally took back its spot next to the other 2.
I personally could never get into one piece but can understand its appeal and importance but naruto will always hold a special place in my heart and bleach is almost the same
It's completely fine to not like a series at all, if everyone liked the same thing the world would be boring anyway :) But it's great that you can still see the appeal a series such as One Piece brings to the table! I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to Naruto as it'll always mean a great deal to me. It's the reason why I wanted to start up this channel to begin with :)
@@Mikeyuubi I'm glad someone finally understands, everyone I've said that too kinda looks at me like I'm crazy and I can definitely tell and it's great! Keep it up !!
Me too, One Piece is awesome, just not my cup of tea. Naruto is my favorite, it grew in maturity with me at the same pace, and bleach was just peak fiction with an extraordinary amount of edge and poetry.
I've never understood the feeling to compare them. Sure I had my favorite among them (back the Naruto, changed into One Piece at some point). But I thoroughly enjoyed all three of them. I was just happy to have three great Manga I could enjoy new chapters of every week.
I dropped one piece 3 times when I started. It was the last of the big 3 that I watched. But it gets good after like 30-50 episodes. The appeal of one piece is world building and characters' ideologies. Characters look a bit too cartoonish which makes it tough to watch but you get used to it.
100% right. It's a shame some try to compare their series by just bringing up the negatives of the big 3, it's not the way to do it. Glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you! 😊
Naruto took my heart the most too, but One Piece and Bleach were also a massive part of my spiraling obsession with anime and manga 😊 They're forever goats
For me its one piece... I hold it as special in my heart. I definitely love naruto but one piece just got me, and bleach too, its my 2nd favourite of the big 3
@@soulkingabstr4kt887 That's great to hear! Everyone has different tastes yet it's still great knowing majority love both of these 3 series either way 😄
During my school days naruto was overwhelmingly talked about from my classmates, batchmates and all the schools... Some of my classmates even go far of never going back in class in the afternoon just to continue to watch naruto episode stream on our local channel before.....
You literally took the words out of my mouth. While I do have my preferences in terms of which one I like more, and it's totally fine to have that, I really hate how some fans of these three series are always fighthing with each other about which one is the better one. Comparing aspects of them and talk about what we like and what we don't in these shows is fine, but trying to make fun of someone because of a show they like, or thinking you are hot shit because you dislike something another person likes is kinda stupid and it just turns a conversation about the impact these three amazing series have had into a bunch of toxic people trowing shit at each other over manga lol
You're 100% right. It's a shame there's so many that are at each others throats all the time when it comes to the big 3. They sometimes act like it's a crime to like more than the other when we should just be talking about how great and impactful these series are instead.
the big 3 are just so incredibly hard to replicate. Not only are they series that would define the entirety of shonen by themselves, they also managed to happen all around the same time and stood at the pinnacle of the genre. Naruto didn't just introduce me to anime, it introduced me to Japanese culture. And while this may come across as weebish but it has greatly enriched my life.
The Final Stages of the original Big Three are upon us. Bleach is back and along with one peice, is entering the final stages of their respective anime. Sure, Naruto has ended, however with the Minato Story being released, we may see a resurgence in what once, and always will be, the greatest anime Trio. Ever.
I've been watching your vids and even if theirs only a few of them their all amazing I find myself watching these and forgetting about my problems keep it up man
You gained a new subscriber. Would love to see you making videos on Bleach. It's obvious you understand the art of Kubo and how he doesn't need words to express the emotion.
Thank you for sticking round! I'm currently in the process of re-reading Bleach, so I'll most likely get round to making an art related video on it when I finish :)
Have finished Naruto, dropped Boruto at 220, Caught up to one piece anime, up to zou in the manga and half way through the Bleach Anime! Most of these are such great series, its insane people wont get into them just cause they are "A japanese cartoon"...
Thank you for this vid dude ❤️. Naruto, for me, is the best of the three. These 3 series will go on to change billions of lives through the years, no doubt.
This was a video I always wanted to make bro so no need to thank me. Thank YOU for watching the video and enjoying it! The big 3 will always be icons without a doubt. If it had to be any 3 series that blew up and created a change for the world of anime and manga, then I'm super glad it's Naruto, Bleach and One Piece 😊
12:14 when Aizen decide to make this scene iconic. "SINCE WHEN U THINK IM NOT USING MY KYOKA SUIGETSU" really get me every time. Bleach is my no. 1 fav ani/manga btw.
If I had to point out one aspect Bleach's anime had over Naruto's and One Piece's, it would be the OST. Not that the former two had bad music, far from it, but when you got "Nothing Can Be Explained" at sad moments, "Clavar la Espada" when fighting Arrancars or "Number One" when Ichigo was popping off, it really cemented that Bleach was all about the style. It was built around its fashion and music.
I just found your Channel today and this is already the third video I started and it seems i cannot get enough of it Amazing content! Well presented analysises. Please keep up the good work!
Thumbnail us immaculate btw and you're right. The big three has revolutionized the way i look at ninjas, pirates and soul reapers Soul reapers are usually boring skeletons in black hoodies with scythes but bleach took that concept, gave them katanas and made them badass. Pirates are usually perceived as hairy dirty drunks that are rude and excellent swimmers but one nice took that, gave them super powers, removed the ability to swim and added a world so full of mystery and adventure that it almost seems real. Naruto took ninjas, stealthy silent killers that hide their faces and wear all black and flipped it on its head. It gave them elemental powers and talking animal companions the size of buildings. They wear whatever the hell they want and almost nobody hides their faces. They have the ability to destroy landscapes and carve mountains yet most fights boil down to close combat. After watching Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece anf can never look at pirates, ninjas or soul reapers they same
Love OP and Naruto but Bleach is soo very unique even out of Big 3 that it's Fascinating to this day. One Piece : Adventure. Naruto : Emotions Bleach : Poem of Life n Death Each has something to give, and Bleach in particular is more admired by Matured bones, which is both a curse (unpopular) a boon (too relatable n Relevant) ...i lost a lot during and after Covid, faced with harsh reality, i almost started to hate Luffy's smile, and Naruto's incompetence as a shinobi, i couldn't even cry form pain, _but Then BLEACH showed me,_ Fate works against the strong, You don't need Grand Goals to be content in life, ...you just need to be comfortable in your own skin and live like no tomorrow, ...Have no attachments to world, but memories, that's what remains. ....and many more themes like this helped me calm down a lot into a role play of life, This Freakin Anime singlehandedly taught me to be aware of my own potential and never break against Odds, cuz odds only stack against the Strong. Sorry I'll stop my Metaphysically chatter, i know many will think i m just squeezing these understandings out Bleach it's not that Deep, ..But oh my god Youdbe soo Wrong, trust me, it's even more profound than i understood.
Great video, explains it all so clearly and why these are and will always be the big 3. Bleach was always my goto watched it from when it started till it ended and now finally getting on to reading the manga and the nostalgia hits, and hits hard and it is awesome. I have seen bits of naruto and currently have started the manga, One piece is on the list but now at over 1k episodes and over 100 volumes it is a bit more daunting though I know it will be work it. Found you via a twitter post regarding this vid and this vid 100% deserved a like and sub, keep up the great work :)
Glad you enjoyed the video and that you'll be sticking round! Hope you'll end up loving Naruto as much as you did with Bleach! And by the time you're done, there'll be plenty of content for you to check out when it comes to One Piece. There's never a need to rush to the finish line, and once you get deep into these stories, I'm sure you'll appreciate just how much content there is to digest :) Enjoy your future journeys!
I'm a new subscriber thanks to this video but I was wondering if in the future you will make videos on one piece and bleach along with Naruto. Amazing video by the way 🔥
Thanks so much for sticking around and enjoying the video! And yes I do plan on making more Bleach and One Piece related content 😊 I have some ideas in mind, so hopefully you'll see them in the future! Thanks again for subscribing and checking out the video!
I started One Piece at the beginning of the year. I'm on episode 800 right now and I have already seen and read all of Naruto (except for Boruto, which I followed until the end of the Isshiki Arc). Naruto helped get me more into anime after I saw some of the shorter classics. I remember all the fanmade Naruto AMVs and animations. What a time to be alive. I'll get to Bleach eventually, but One Piece is my at the top of my watch list and my favorite of The Big 3 right now. One Piece fills the void in my heart that Hunter x Hunter left, my favorite series of all time. I can't wait to catch up and witness the end of One Piece live. I hope HxH can reach that point within my lifetime as well.
I grew up reading & watching the Big 3 back in the early 2000s and I am so HAPPY that this video is created (and I also somehow stumbled across this video in my recommendations, rightfully so). The Big 3 will always have a special place in my heart forever not only because of nostalgia, but the journey of me reading and watching it as a process of growing up. Really really happy that you expressed everything exactly the way I want to to the people asking me about my favorite manga or anime. It baffles me that we still have the ongoing behemoth which is One Piece to enjoy and what a treat it truly is. I miss the times coming home from school just to read and watch the latest chapter and episode, and I will always remember the Pain arc, Aizen arc and Marineford war arc were in the same timeframe and WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE as a fan of the big 3!! Thank you for the video! 🙏🏽🩵
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video :) Growing up with each of these series being released side by side was such a great time. Really miss those days.
I think that you did very well with the video and respect how you handled it because everyone has their own opinion’s on their favorite anime and none of them where left out of the light thank you for being respectful
Damn this was such a great video mate and I'd really appreciate it if you made a video discussing/analyzing the grandfather of most Shonen that we get today and that is Dragon Ball at some point later down the line........
Thanks so much bro! Really happy to hear you enjoyed the video! I have thought about making a Dragon Ball video! Think I would need to give the series a re-read though to freshen up on it since it's been so long 😄 But I'll get to it eventually!
@@Mikeyuubino worries take as much time as you need bro and remember without Dragon Ball existing most of the brand new Shonen series that we're getting today wouldn't even exist not even the Big 3 One Piece,Naruto, and Bleach...........
@@saudbintalib5701 of course! A lot of shonen owe a lot to the pathway Dragon Ball created for them. Majority wouldn't be what they are today without the foundation Dragon Ball had laid out

Incredible video again. The big three in Shonen Jump mean so much to me. Naruto is what got me into anime and manga 11 years ago and Bleach is the next anime I started some time after. One Piece is one I started back in January 2018 and it’s honestly my third favourite anime and manga of all time. I just love everything in it. I love how three series I hold so close to me are also the three biggest properties of Shonen Jump next to Dragon Ball. While I personally don’t like Bleach all that much, I do at least greatly respect it and it’s work. In terms of my favourite anime and mangas ever, my top 18 currently is… 1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood 2. Naruto franchise 3. One Piece 4. Yu Yu Hakusho 5. Hunter x Hunter 6. My Hero Academia 7. Dragon Ball franchise 8. Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise 9. Demon Slayer 10. Code Geass 11. One-Punch Man 12. Attack On Titan 13. InuYasha franchise 14. The Seven Deadly Sins 15. Berserk (Just the anime though, if we’re talking about the manga, it’d be way higher, though I don’t know where) 16. Trigun 17. Death Note 18. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series And I just love how so many of these shows, including a lot from the big three, are some of my favourite stories of all time. And in terms of my favourite anime protagonists, my top 10 are… 1. Naruto Uzumaki 2. Monkey D. Luffy 3. Goku 4. Edward Elric 5. Guts 6. Atem/Yusei Fudo (Not really sure which one I like more) 7. Yusuke Urameshi 8. Jotaro Kujo 9. Deku 10. Lelouch Vi Britannia
Welp, yes, I really do agree with you. It's something insanely beautiful to know just how noone had social media, yet we all knew of them. I never had a touch with One Piece, but even in ny country, Serbia, we had Bleach and Naruto on TV. I enjoyed it so much growing up. And for AMV's... Haha I love them, they are an art form, I'm not that great in it, but I still try making something appealing and I love when I hit the right notes! I'd also bring up Shaman King. It's a series that was serialized in the time of the big three and they completly overshadowed it, sad how we all knew of SK as well growing up, but never had the popularity it deserved, the new anime ain't helping haha. It's just that it focuses on the core story with bright colors and flashes and it's more... Shonen. While the manga is way more mature, especially for its time.
Glad you liked the video! For me in the UK I actually never saw Bleach on TV, only Naruto and One Piece (when it had the 4kids dub), so it's pretty crazy how everyone got into the shows through different means yet they were always something people would be talking about. AMV's were a huge reason to why I wanted to check out One Piece and Bleach. Seeing the best moments put together in videos just got me incredible hyped to check them out! Never knew you made AMV's, that great! There's still quite a big crowd that make them even if it has significantly died down a lot compared to how it was back then. Hope you find success with it! :D Yeah back then the Big 3 put a lot of other shows into their shadow unless if they were popping off like Death Note. I've heard Shaman King is great in terms of the manga. I've mentioned this before but it's definitely a series I'll get round to reading eventually! :)
@@Mikeyuubi yes, the big three connect most anime fans novadays, we all grew up with one or the other. Amazing just how many people these anime inspired and had an impact on. Love to see it every so often. Aaandd... Yes, I make AMV's and I love making them. When I hit those beats I just feel so good 😂 And I can't recommend SK enough. It would've been as big as the big three under a little bit of different circumstances. There's a lot of those who grew up with it.
Shaman King was always in the shadow of Pokémon & Yugioh in America. 4kids dubbed all 3 of them into English & there was a time when Yugioh was much more popular than One Piece here. Another manga that started at about the same time as the Big 3 was Hunter x Hunter, which like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure exploded in popularity after an anime adaptation about 12 Years Ago. It's unfortunate that the close runners up to the Big 3 during the 2000s are never mentioned. Pokémon is an interesting case of a Shonen Series surpassing the Big 3 in that it is the most successful franchise in existence & had more influence over the anime/manga industry outside of Japan than any other series.
Dragon ball was what the introduced me n so many people in my country to anime …and it was the only anime in the early 2000s n late 90s thag everyone in the world knew …n then came Pokémon, beyblade, samurai x, dragon ball z etc but naruto when introduced to me …won my heart ..the only shonen that has a very special place in my heart
Bleach is amazing, the art is insane, the lore is argueably deeper and more philosophical than the other two, and the power system is the best imo. Bleach has good hype but it deserves JUST as much as the other two
Something I realized about the big 3 is they are similar In that they have a croupt system naruto has the shnobi system bleach the soul society is croupt with frist sin in the novel and one piece the world government has the warlord system and the five elders are croupt
Bleach is so much deeper than people think. Almost every name has meaning, every design, thought, decision has meaning. Referencing Buddhism, Christianity, and even fucking Nietzsche
The big 3 are absolutely amazing, the plot and world building of one piece, the philosophy and emotional connect in naruto, and bleach's amazing character designs and characters(imo)
They all have each of these aspects but this is where I believe each series stands out.
You're 100% right! Shows how well they excelled in what they were great at since people still talk about them to this very day 😊
i totally agree with you
there is world building in naruto that is awesome, but one piece did it even better, and there is philosophy and emotional connection with one piece, but naruto did it even better
i love bleach but as these two, i love hunter more, still an absolutely great serious though that i loved
I love the characters of Bleach as well Kubo might be the one out of the mangakas of the big three who focuses the least on how characters feel but characters from Bleach always felt much more like real people than the other two since characters like Kyoraku Mayuri and even Ichigo at key mature moments tend to feel more three-dimensional like they have this depth to them with the weight of a real person
moments like when Ichigo finds out that his father lied to him all his life any other character would have demanded awnsers but he just says that "he won't ask but instead wait for his father to feel like it's time to understand" he is showing a much bigger degree of maturity than you would usually expect from a shounen character since they tend to react to situations by falling into the usual troupes but despite Bleach focusing the least on storytelling than One Piece or Naruto when it actually happens it manages to surprise me the most because the maturity and complexity of the characters in these particular moments is not that of a regular shounen
and that's not the only time when he realizes that Soul Society had been monitoring him on the Lost Agent Arc he also behaves the same making it clear to me that the character in that moment is being used and portrayed like more than just in the way the plot needs him to be at that moment but it's also telling us about how Ichigo is as a person in a very subtle but realistic way that is showing him more as a person of his own and less than in the familiar and predictable way most other shounen do it
Mayuri (Kubo's favorite character) is also incredibly interesting in his own way despite being entirely mad and is one of these few characters in Bleach you come to enjoy despite him being portrayed as such a piece of shit without ever having been given the "cool" and charismatics elements most villains use to make us love them personality-wise Mayuri is nothing but flaws yet he remains interesting perhaps precisely because he isn't what we want him to be the character is just himself from beginning to end
Kyoraku is in my opinion the perfect middle ground he's a grey character and never goes too much one way or the other so we never really get to know the entirety of who Kyoraku is we know he has this amicable side to him but he also has a deeper more sinister side he hides under this other side of himself and at times you feel how the amicable side is ultimately just a facade in battle yet he's usually such a nice guy that i as a viewer can never see him as a bad guy and same as the other two he's consistent with this too i remember getting that impression of him when i read the Fake Karakura Arc but then in TYBW he made it clear to me that he had no illusions or aspirations of justice and what's right as many other Gotei members do i remember him saying "that its pointless to blame in side or the other because once war breaks out both sides are evil" for me this phrase encompasses perfectly how all wars in Bleach are since none of the parties involved are more good nor bad than the other one (
as opposed to Naruto and One Piece where despite no side being 100% one thing or the other the Balance is almost always tilted plot-wise so that the protagonist feels like he's in the right in this aspect Bleach is actually the total opposite of the other big three because of how fucked up the roots and foundation of Soul Society is
and these aren't even my favorite Bleach characters lol
@@mohammadalfattal2902No. One Piece is the best.
Exactly right!
It's like expecting something to be the new father of modern shounen (Dragonball)
the big 3 are just so incredibly hard to replicate.
Are you dumb??dragon ball helped it go mainstream not any of these just stfu and stop dick riding.

I know people that still hate anime, and a prolific marvel fans. And now look at how their MCU has turned out. 😼 I only heard complaints from them while anime watcher keeps eating good.
I’ve finished both Naruto and Bleach. They were such a joy to read, and I can’t wait to catch up on One Piece
Aye nice one! Glad you enjoyed both Naruto and Bleach! I'm sure you'll enjoy catching up to One Piece a ton! (:

Maybe not quite on the level of the big 3 but still very great and future legendary Mangas I'd recommend once you've caught up with One Piece are:
One Punch Man
Boku no Hero Academia
Kengan Ashura/Omega
Hope you enjoy😊
Thats alot catchup to do😅. Hope u enjoy one piece. U wont regret it
I’m 39 and started watching One Piece about 18 months ago.
I can feel you one piece is just beautiful
Another thing I love about Bleach's manga is the poetic sense put into it. And the poems Kubo adds in some chapter. Some of my favorite poems: (parapgrasing)
: Aizen's poem about the flower at the end of the cliff being beautiful as we stop moving forward and look at the flower admiring it living at the edge in whicb we can't step into
: Inoue's poem about wanting to become the rain, since if the rain can connect the sky and the earth, can she connect two hearts together?
: Gin's poem to Rangiku
: Ulquiorr's "The Lust" chapter talking about the heart
After all this years, I can watch these series and have the same giddiness I had as a kid. Ichigo donning his Hollow mask, Naruto swiping his hand to form a Rasengan, Luffy stretching his arm and a mile behind him to prepare for a punch - it still hits.
When I was 12 I was obsessed with Naruto and Bleach but never gave One Piece as much as a fair shot as the others, but now at age 30 i'm taking the time to watch that too because I wanted to see what made it so good. I'm in alabasta arc now and loving it!
One piece and bleach imo are the best , naruto was good while watching it but after finishing it I just felt it got downhill after pain invasion
Bleach got me hooked with anime I still remember every evening after completing homework I would rush towards tv just to watch bleach
When i was younger i liked naruto but now i am grownup i love Bleach . I just love everything about bleach.
the thing i love about ichigo/bleach is that instead of having that mc that is funny like luffy, goku, naruto etc. ichigo is such a chill character which makes me love him so much Lmao
most diverse character in anime history.

Thanks so much my bro! Really glad you enjoyed the video! 😊😊
Fr those types of videos were continuously getting pumped out back in the day 🤣 they were a vibe though I can't lie

The things that I immediately think about if I compare these three:
Bleach: the spiritual side
Naruto: the traditional themes
One Piece: the gigantic world-building

Seeing how MHA JJK and BC are all in their final saga it's a bit sad to know that we'll probably never get another long shonen like Bleach or Naruto again. Once OP ends it'll truly be the end of an era
We need more channels like this that talk about what they like instead of shitting on things 24/7!

Thumbnail us immaculate btw and you're right. The big three has revolutionized the way i look at ninjas, pirates and soul reapers
Soul reapers are usually boring skeletons in black hoodies with scythes but bleach took that concept, gave them katanas and made them badass.
After watching Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece anf can never look at pirates, ninjas or soul reapers they same
You're 100% right! As I mentioned in the video I feel the exact same way 😁 And thanks so much! Glad you liked the thumbnail! 😊
All 3 are so REBELLIOUS 😉
There will never be another big 3
And he’s back with a vengeance, Great to have you back.
Aye thank you bro! Took a lot of time to make this video, so I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Crazy seeing him reference the other Naruto with hundreds of views is crazy cuz there sitting at thousands of views
8:00 the best anime fight imo
Spittin 😤✊🏻🔥
Love OP and Naruto but Bleach is soo very unique even out of Big 3 that it's Fascinating to this day.
One Piece : Adventure.
Naruto : Emotions
Bleach : Poem of Life n Death
Each has something to give, and Bleach in particular is more admired by Matured bones, which is both a curse (unpopular) a boon (too relatable n Relevant) ...i lost a lot during and after Covid, faced with harsh reality, i almost started to hate Luffy's smile, and Naruto's incompetence as a shinobi, i couldn't even cry form pain, _but Then BLEACH showed me,_ Fate works against the strong, You don't need Grand Goals to be content in life, ...you just need to be comfortable in your own skin and live like no tomorrow, ...Have no attachments to world, but memories, that's what remains.
....and many more themes like this helped me calm down a lot into a role play of life, This Freakin Anime singlehandedly taught me to be aware of my own potential and never break against Odds, cuz odds only stack against the Strong.
@@Mikeyuubi I binged all your videos earlier and all I really have to say is that they were phenomenal. Keep up the good work 🔥
@@Kuro_Archive Thank you so much bro!! That truly makes me happy you have no idea! 😄 I'll keep trying my best! Appreciate the support!
The bleach anime ost is fired glad that number 1 is coming back for ichigo main theme for the anime return
Bleach has THE BEST ART WORK EVER BABY!!! 🥶
When you mentioned "AMV'S" I was like
YYYAAAASAASSSSS
Mikeyuubi upload, life is good

New subscriber. Videos like this push me to be better, as an editor and as a content creator. Keep up the good work
Thanks a lot man! We'll both keep pushing together 😄
you deserve way more views and likes, very welly edited fr
Thank you for the kind words! :)
Majority wouldn't be what they are today without the foundation Dragon Ball had laid out
@@Mikeyuubi yes yes yes I definitely know that most of us do pretty much........
Damn your content is very underrated, congrats on getting a sub!
Thank you so much!! Glad you'll be sticking around! :D
those first 40 seconds tho...liking anime in the 2000's was rough -_-'
Haha, yeah back then it was tough. Glad anime has become so mainstream now that it's less looked down upon and ignored :)
@@Mikeyuubi yeah being made fun of for being the only DBZ (or anime in general) fan in the schoop sucks lol. Hope you never had to go through that.
@@michaelsong3733 I did go through exactly that haha. But I'm happy that I'm now in a position where I can confidently share my love of anime and manga to others on here :)
In terms of my favourite anime and mangas ever, my top 18 currently is…
1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2. Naruto franchise
3. One Piece
4. Yu Yu Hakusho
5. Hunter x Hunter
6. My Hero Academia
7. Dragon Ball franchise
8. Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise
9. Demon Slayer
10. Code Geass
11. One-Punch Man
12. Attack On Titan
13. InuYasha franchise
14. The Seven Deadly Sins
15. Berserk (Just the anime though, if we’re talking about the manga, it’d be way higher, though I don’t know where)
16. Trigun
17. Death Note
18. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series
And I just love how so many of these shows, including a lot from the big three, are some of my favourite stories of all time. And in terms of my favourite anime protagonists, my top 10 are…
1. Naruto Uzumaki
2. Monkey D. Luffy
3. Goku
4. Edward Elric
5. Guts
6. Atem/Yusei Fudo (Not really sure which one I like more)
7. Yusuke Urameshi
8. Jotaro Kujo
9. Deku
10. Lelouch Vi Britannia
Pirates, ninjas, death gods….. what more can you ask for???
The amv part brought back a lot of nostalgia. The Naruto “blow me away” Amvs are a core memory
i love that you use manga panels unlike other discussion videos about these series and your editing is so good
Thank you for the compliments! Means a lot!
Yay upload
Bless bro, hope you like it! 😊
Yeah back then the Big 3 put a lot of other shows into their shadow unless if they were popping off like Death Note.
When I hit those beats I just feel so good 😂
And I can't recommend SK enough.
2:49 “they were the gateway to anime”, Hamtaro would like a word with you.
02:51
Hamtaro, Sailor Moon, Pokémon, Yugioh I watched each of them when I was a little girl.
Amazing video as always bro, keep it up!
Ayeee thank you my bro! Really glad you enjoyed it! I'll try my best 😄😊
7:49 thank Hiroaki Samura for his style in drawing fights
Bleach is amazing, the art is insane, the lore is argueably deeper and more philosophical than the other two, and the power system is the best imo. Bleach has good hype but it deserves JUST as much as the other two
speaking of amvs, i remember watching a lot of nejiten amvs with cascada's everytime we touch playing in the background lmao
Something I realized about the big 3 is they are similar In that they have a croupt system naruto has the shnobi system bleach the soul society is croupt with frist sin in the novel and one piece the world government has the warlord system and the five elders are croupt
Bleach was my last in big 3 but still it became a part of my heart (⌒o⌒)
I see all Big 3 just as good. Its so hard to pick a top frrr
I didnt grow up with the big 3 i grew up with dragon ball, I got into the big 3 in my teens with bleach Then Naruto and lastly one piece.
Naruto - Nostalgia
One Piece - One of the Greatest
Bleach - Cool af
Bleach is so much deeper than people think.
Almost every name has meaning, every design, thought, decision has meaning.
Referencing Buddhism, Christianity, and even fucking Nietzsche
TH-cam introduced me to anime. Amv got me interested in the fights, and the youtube group RDCWorld1 introduced me to ge story of anime
I love the big three sm no one can ever take their spot
I love this video please continue to make more.
Thank you! I'll try my best in future uploads! 😊
