    I've used the Cravar workpack for nearly a year now, travelling with it and using it nearly every day for work and leisure. It's really stable and sits on the floor, and it does get a lot more pliable over the months I've used (abused) it. It does feel bulky and unwieldy at times with the design being a bit rigid and boxy, but you know you're getting a lot for the money with the quality of the leather, and how thick it feels.

      @Gilamath. ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Out of curiosity, how happy would you be with it as a travel bag? Like, folding up clothes and stowing away toiletries inside it, taking it as a carry-on item perhaps?
      I'm torn between Cravar and Satchel & Page's backpacks. It's pretty clear to me that S&P's product is better for packing, since it opens out flat clamshell-style while with Cravar's bag you can really only reach in from the top whenever you want anything. But Cravar's bag seems less likely to suffer from structural failures since it doesn't use zippers
      In practice, does it feel like you could comfortably get what you needed in and out of the Cravar bag without issue? Or is that use case one of those situations where you might find the bag to be too unwieldy? If you had to buy a carry-on or travel backpack, would you still buy the Cravar given your experience with it over the past year or so? Cheers!

      @@Gilamath. Your observations are more or less on point. I've used it as a travel bag as a carry-on for flights, and I usually stow it underneath my seat. It does peak out a little underneath because it is a bit tall, but not anything excessive. I've put in a down jacket, some toiletries, a bottle, umbrella and documents/laptop and it fit fine.
      I too was considering S&P, but where I'm located (not in the US), it's not economical as I pay nearly 1.5x the price after taxes. I can't say much for the quality of S&P because I don't have it (though I have heard good things).
      Sure, the zippers will probably make the S&P bag easier and more intuitive to use initially, but durability wise the leather straps that affix to the brass tacks are by far more sturdy and feel more 'premium', even after over a year of abuse.
      Initially, the brass buttons were a bit tight, but now they affix to the straps fine, and I've gotten used to it. I would say to some extent I prefer this over a zipper, which annoyingly can get caught or stuck - both of which you don't get with the Cravar. The pockets are also relatively easy to access once you undo the top.
      One downside I would say is that the construction is very sturdy and rugged, and to make it this sturdy it does feel a bit stiff sometimes because of the leather's thickness. What I appreciate though, the straps are thick and well-padded, and the back is stiff so it provides good support. This means when I go on long walks/hikes, I don't feel like my shoulders are dying because the weight is better distributed.
      If I had to choose again, I would go for the Cravar - both on price and quality. Though if I were based in the US, Satchel and Page might be my go-to, given that if there are any issues it's probably easier to deal with them instead.Hope it sheds some light and helps you make a better purchase decision!

    I absolutely love love love your videos. You don't tend to talk down to the viewer, or at least I don't feel like you do, AND you do inform and express perceptions that are your own. I don't always agree with you, and you seem to anticipate that people will have different views and incorporate that into your talk track.
    Suffice it to say that the video feels like chatting with a knowledgeable friend, and it always ups my bag game. I don;r have all the bags you do, but you really do up my approach to bags. Apart from that - even if I was NOT a bag freak - the videos are just so interesting. Love that you travel, so we get to see you in various locations and get to see you taking bags through their paces and see the result. The Canva bag will one day be mine, by the way!!!

    After visiting Vietnam, I find it very, very hard to justify spending over $100 usd on a leather bag. These things costs less than $30 to make. The design takes the most brain and effort. Just copying them is easy for these people here. For example, they sell fake Tumi bags (alpha 3 brief pack full leather) that are indistinguishable from the real ones, for less than $100 usd. And re passing down to grandchildren, uhh I don’t think they would want it 😅. Which kid gets excited to use their grandpa’s backpack from 40 years ago 😅
