It's 2018 and I still think this phone, with 64gb, in white, on iOS 5.1, jailbroken, is the best phone ever made. Could be the nostalgia talking, but I look back fondly
SecretPotatoChip thats true in a few cases. 1. it can't get any slower. 2. it will be forever jailbreakable. 3. NO siri (even with the repo.siriport.ru cydia source installed). 4. I think the iphone 4/4s have the best design out of all the iphones released up to this point. This is my personal opinion :D
Thank you so much for these videos!! I will recommend them for friends and loved ones when they're buying a new phone. This really helps more than any other review!
I consider myself as a power user and what appeals me on the iPhone is... its simplicity! I want to use the phone without spending ages setting it up and making it work as it should. I liked to customise and install custom ROMs in Windows Mobile, but with Android, I got tired of doing that. Not because of Android itself, but because I was tired of "loosing" time. A power user isn't someone that customises the phone, but someone who uses the phone a lot for emails, phone calls, browsing, etc.
Coming from Samsung Galaxy phone and have tried the iphone. for end to end user experiences, Iphone still has the edge given the overall quality and smoother user interface of interacting with the phone.
1:30 yes the iphone 4s absolutely pushed boundaries. Its amazing how unique it is. Hardware=iphone4, Internals= Leveling with almost every other flagship, Software= Basically the same as the 2007 iphone. Yeah just really pushed boundaries!
I always switch back to the iPhone 4S after using the newest and supposedly greatest android devices. The software is just so much more reliable. I went to the Caribbean and did snorkeling with the iPhone 4S in a Lifeproof case and the video came out amazing.
I hope pocketnow does a video on the Droid 4, The phone was great when I first got it but it is getting worse as I continue to use it. If an episode is made, it should be when the ICS update that Motorola promised finally comes out.
i wonder if when iOS 6 comes out if it will be a different look , i have an iPhone , and anyknow i like it , staring at that same old grid i have been looking at for 4 years , well , it gets a little boring and vanilla , and you have to agree with me
He ended up talking more about the Apple 'cushion' (Apple Care, free unit swapping, and the App Store) than the actual iPhone 4S itself. I was hoping this would be a Michael Fisher series.
Thank you very much for your extremely informative and honest review of the Iphone 4s. I have a Samsung galaxy s3 at the moment but looking for a last complicated phone that I can use along side my Ipad, decided to take the plunge and go for a second hand Iphone 4s and keep my Samsung as my secondary phone. Can't for it to arrive in the mail this morning!! Many thanks again.
Honestly if you are set to only get an iPhone, just wait the 6 months. LTE support is pretty much the only thing we know for sure is going to be in the device and that alone is worth waiting for. I still recommend Windows Phone 7, 8, and Android over iPhone personally. For the sole reason of form factor choices and way less restrictions.
I'm very satisfied with my iPhone 4s ! its fast has the best software and hardware, also I am very happy to tell you that when iOS 6 is released it is going to be so much better than android that everyone who thought about getting an gs3 is going to go for an 'new iPhone' !!!
got the iPhone 4 when it first came out and have treated it as good as you could. But I've had to take the phone back to the apple store numerous times. the home button only works for 1-3 months and all my phones have shown a lot of lag even though I didn't have much on them. The apps force close ALL the time and the phone freezes up a lot. I thought this was all because of a bad phone but 3 phones later I've come to realize it's just apple. I'm switching to android even though I love the iPhone
I honestly prefer Michael for this...he just has a really smooth way of doing his review and it just seems like this is a really good show for him as well as bringing in some dev aspects....alot of channels have forgotten about the XDA community and how much it really means to Android and with his video on the hp veer running 2.3 it really made me appreciate ur channel alot more
4s owner here cannot wait for the s3 after the buzz review! Had the chance to try the s3 (my brother's) for a couple of hours. I have to admit the screen is amazing, going back to my 4s was like going back to the 90s lol (an exaggeration)
The One X I've ordered will arrive at 10 or 11 of june so it's just 3-4 days left but I really want to hear your thoughts and opinion about it before paying my month wages for it. Can you tell an approximate date of it's After The Buzz reviev so I would be 100% sure then getting the one. Still think maybe I should get SGS3 Instead...
I have a LG Revolution now, but by the end of next week I should have a 4s. I thought the Verizon 4g would compensate for the lagginess and repetitive app force closes. But I was sadly mistaken... Never coming back to android, ugh
I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy an iPhone but especially not now since the back covers of the iPhone 5 have just been leaked and there's a chance that it'll be released at wwdc (june 11).
I got a 16 gb 4s, and I can confirm that 16 gigs are not enough. First of all you only get 13 gb for your data and 3 gb are "hidden". And don't forget that having the 4s you will recive updates up to ios 7... can you even imagine how big applications will be in 2 years???
Hey there Jaime, love your videos and definitely keep it up. It'd be great to see some Android phones as well, I agree. I also think you should mention the prices for a sim unlocked version for each phone because that would definitely affect whether or not a person buys it, especially over other competitors.
I don't get why so many people hate the iPhone. I've used both iOS and Android, and I'll say that iOS is so much more user-friendly, and it just looks cleaner. I love my iPhone! I still have the 4 because I didn't see the 4s as a worthy update for me, but I can't wait till the 5 comes out :)
After The Buzz is an awsome idea! I'm going to buy the HTC One X in 7 days and it would be great if it could check out some After The Buzz review for it before buying. Sad that you don't use one...)
I have an iPhone not android right now so I wouldn't know. I figure its worth a shot though with how boring ios has been for me and how my phone hasn't worked properly. Obviously something went wrong if I've had to get 3 new phones and none have worked properly. I got my first from AT&T, second was replaced from them, then the 3rd I figured I'd just go to my apple store. My friends and family have had the same problems so I think you just got lucky. Either way I'm excited to try out my SGS3
1. the screen is a super amoled 306ppi; on the one x is a super lcd2 ips 312ppi. So the screen goes to htc 2. Ok that really sucks that you cant expand the storage for the one x 3. The battert is bigger but that doesnt mean it lasts longer, cuz the exynos doesnt have a fifth power save core 4. The graphics on the one x have a dedicated chip for that and they are better then the s3 5. the "wireless" isnt out yet. 5.the camera rlz on bouth 6. sense is heavy and strain the cpu. So one x is better
That makes sense, but i'm skeptical about android. I've had two bad experiences with it. I know it changes over time, but i don't want to waste my money a third time. I know the iPhone is simpler, smaller, and has only 3G on Verizon. If that's what it takes to have a decent reliable phone, then i'm willing to buy it.
Yes, very nice concept indeed! Especially when these "reviews" usually say the same thing. Sometimes, it feels like these reviewers are being muzzled by the manufacturers or something. The reviews turn out to be generic, not going through the nitty gritty of things. (Good exception is GSM Arena.) I hope pocketnow gets to do this after a month of usage for major gadgets!
interesting round up. Very fair assessment I would say. Really liking the concept of this program. As for the 4s? Well not for me as someone who likes to tinker a lot andbm customize to my hearts content. I find IOS a lot more limited in such departments.
i love how apple can go from making a phone out of aluminum then to plastic, and then to a phone that is 80% glass, and get praise for it, the iphone 4s is a good phone, if you do not care about 4g, or if you drop it, or if you want to expand the storage, get a bigger battery, replace the battery watch movies in widescreen
Ah cheers, I find it quite stunning that the iPhone can hold it's price for so long after release when compared to other phones. For that reason right now I reckon the best deals you can get on a phone would be on a Sensation or SGS2, they're going to last a while and things like quad core and 720p screens are just useless selling points. Plus, I love Android (I'm just not a crazy anti-Apple troll or anything :P)
I have an 8GB iPhone 4S, Spotify for music, Angry Birds or Minecraft for gaming if I'm really that bored and pictures go through the cloud to my pc and iPad, 8GB my friend is plenty :)
I have a galaxy s2 and the only thing I can say the iphone has that wud really warrant a switch is the app store but that's not enough for me... Too many limitations on the iphone
iPhone 4s does NOT have Gorilla Glass by Corning....their glass is manufactured by Lens Technology. The only iPhone to have used gorilla glass is the first generation iPhones and no subsequent iPhone.
I realy liked the idea, not everyone buying the last model everytime and the reviews are from the day it announced! i like to see this video for galaxy nexsus !! (:
IMO the g-nex is better but the iPhones hardware aesthetically is leaps and bounds ahead of any android out. IOS is cool but ics is a preview into the future, future being the dominate and 100% conclusively better os.
Yes I also recommend an iPhone!! Looks just better!! And works just awesome!!! I'm a developer and I know how easy is to mod an iPhone than any other phone out.
After the buzz is now my favourite style of phone review. It's not first impressions that matter when choosing a device.
Looking this in 2016, it feels a little funny, how things changed in so little time...(I'm an android user)
This show is such a great idea!
This is actually probably the best iPhone review I've ever seen
It's 2018 and I still think this phone, with 64gb, in white, on iOS 5.1, jailbroken, is the best phone ever made. Could be the nostalgia talking, but I look back fondly
Sadly the iPhone 4 will not receive any major updates anymore
That's a good thing
SecretPotatoChip thats true in a few cases. 1. it can't get any slower. 2. it will be forever jailbreakable. 3. NO siri (even with the repo.siriport.ru cydia source installed). 4. I think the iphone 4/4s have the best design out of all the iphones released up to this point. This is my personal opinion :D
No shit who even uses this crap in 2019? It's unusable.
Thank you so much for these videos!! I will recommend them for friends and loved ones when they're buying a new phone. This really helps more than any other review!
Ah, nice to hear, love the series... and great review Jamie, surprisingly impartial :)
Good video. I still have my 4s and it's great. Does my everyday needs and it's fast as hell. Had it since this January and I plan on holding on to it
I consider myself as a power user and what appeals me on the iPhone is... its simplicity! I want to use the phone without spending ages setting it up and making it work as it should. Great series. I hope you guys continue with it.
Jaime said it like it is, and explained exactly why the iPhone sells so much.
1:30 yes the iphone 4s absolutely pushed boundaries. Its amazing how unique it is. Hardware=iphone4, Internals= Leveling with almost every other flagship, Software= Basically the same as the 2007 iphone. Yeah just really pushed boundaries!
i think you should do it for 1 year
I always switch back to the iPhone 4S after using the newest and supposedly greatest android devices. The software is just so much more reliable. I went to the Caribbean and did snorkeling with the iPhone 4S in a Lifeproof case and the video came out amazing.
When do you think you're gonna do an after the buzz segment on your other daily driver, Jaime?
I hope pocketnow does a video on the Droid 4, The phone was great when I first got it but it is getting worse as I continue to use it. If an episode is made, it should be when the ICS update that Motorola promised finally comes out.
does the iphone has an task manager?
i wonder if when iOS 6 comes out if it will be a different look , i have an iPhone , and anyknow i like it , staring at that same old grid i have been looking at for 4 years , well , it gets a little boring and vanilla , and you have to agree with me

this is my phone in 2014
Mine too.
I'm very satisfied with my iPhone 4s !

Those bezels are so massive around that small screen!
cant you hear a lot of white noise though, noise in the background on calls?
like if your at a party, your parents call...
Can you please do a review of the Sony Xperia U..
4s owner here cannot wait for the s3 after the buzz review! Had the chance to try the s3 (my brother's) for a couple of hours. I have to admit the screen is amazing, going back to my 4s was like going back to the 90s lol (an exaggeration)
@tabby051 there is no 8 GB iPhone 4S...only 16, 32 and 64 gigs
The One X I've ordered will arrive at 10 or 11 of june so it's just 3-4 days left but I really want to hear your thoughts and opinion about it before paying my month wages for it. your phone is 16G model right
I have a LG Revolution now, but by the end of next week I should have a 4s. I thought the Verizon 4g would compensate for the lagginess and repetitive app force closes. But I was sadly mistaken... Never coming back to android, ugh

its not silly and when touch wiz comes close to the stock android why do you even need touch wiz when you can have just android?
Hey there Jaime, love your videos and definitely keep it up. It'd be great to see some Android phones as well, I agree. nice clip. do more please on older devices
really love the series, something i always wanted to watch :D
Still have mine...
After The Buzz is an awsome idea! I'm going to buy the HTC One X in 7 days and it would be great if it could check out some After The Buzz review for it before buying. Sad that you don't use one...)

Specs are what matters as the BOTTOM LINE! iPhone/Apple HYPE,HYPE,HYPE!!!
after the buzz galaxy s4? or too soon
My music library takes up 98gb how does the iphone work that out xD
1. the screen is a super amoled 306ppi; on the one x is a super lcd2 ips 312ppi. So the screen goes to htc 2. Ok that really sucks that you cant expand the storage for the one x 3. Galaxy Nexus or S2 for episode 3

wikipedia
"list of devices with gorilla glass" and crtl+f for iphone 4 or 4s
i rooted my galaxy s and flashed an ICS rom. and believe me, its better than most stock phone that are being sold now :)
Watching this on my iPhone 4S!
nice idea

what about htc? the htc one x is the most powerful handheld device there is right now.
Omg I love the auto correct feature ! It's a life saver !
excellent job guys!!
very helpful
NOOO where is Michael!!???

@4:53 he says Safari is one of the best browsers on the market then @6:45 says Safari may not be the best browser. Well, which is it?
where is motorola razr
Im a android user I may not like ios but the way the iphone 4/4s looks It really has a nice design
You hit it right on man
Thumps up for installing Capcom Vs Marvel 2.
I have a galaxy s2 and the only thing I can say the iphone has that wud really warrant a switch is the app store but that's not enough for me... Too many limitations on the iphone

Great review...I like It
Excellent. Love my iPhone.

(:
Your name Diego
You live in Honduras? Cool!
that's why he make this review
And Galaxy Nexus is a better device because very few have it? That's strange but hey, what do we know ..
Interesting one
Every iOS user is an iSheep
IMO the g-nex is better but the iPhones hardware aesthetically is leaps and bounds ahead of any android out. IOS is cool but ics is a preview into the future, future being the dominate and 100% conclusively better os.

I'm still using my Samsung galaxy s and its still beasting :-)
im using a one x and i like this review
chill out everyone.
dont get me wrong, bouth phones rule, but i just prefer sense over touch wiz.
@Glen Cuttell
