The American version is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, actually. Sorry for the lack of stress-testing; we tend to focus on daily usability with After The Buzz.
After the buzz is a very useful/important show for the end consumer. I really appreciate pocketnow for letting us know how devices hold up after all the initial hype. More shows should e like this. Keep up the good work.
I retired mine last month after owning it for almost 3 and a half years. It's been a great phone for me for most of its lifetime. The past several months have not been so good as I have had to reboot the phone weekly. Overall, I feel that it has lived up to my expectations for a smartphone.
Manchester FC FTW I don't take very many photos, so I don't know how to answer that question. I do find that the default camera settings are not that good. Once I fiddled around and used the HDR+ mode, my photos turn out great.
Btw I always use it while it's charging. Still an amazing device. Happy. First device I've never gotten bored with as of yet. Awesome video. I love this series
Had my GS3 for a couple of months now and still love it as much, if not more, than the day I first got it. Just updated it to Android 4.1 too. Yes, Google Now loveliness!! I had the iPhone 4S before this, and as a somewhat sophisticated user, I get a lot more joy out of tweaking my GS3 just the way I like it, than I did with the simplicity of iOS - though that definitely has its place too. Thanks for the great re-review ;)
i have the global one and have to say... BEST PHONE EVA!!! I came from an iPhone to a SGS2 than to a Lumia 800 after that to a HTC One X and than to this awsome SMARTphone... Love it...
What about the the S3's Super AMOLED Pen Tile display? Nothing was mentioned about screen degradation or burn in which has been reported to happen in as little as 4 weeks. I've had mine for a month now and have not noticed any problems of late. Just want to know your thoughts on this.
Samsung Galaxy S3. The last good Galaxy S smartphone. Hopefully Samsung's 2015 Galaxy S flagship will be an improvement over the S5, which has been a failure.
My S3(international) is coming up to 2months now, still holding well. Smart stay doesn't work for me, and yes those capacitive buttons are easy to hit accidently. Those are my only gripes, wicked phone!
I've had the GS3 for over 9 months now and the performance hasn't slowed down a bit. I am a little envious of some of the features in the GS4 but if I were buying a phone today, I would still go for the GS3 (at the current prices). Battery life is still going strong, and I use my phone heavily. (I use JuiceDefender to make it last even longer.)
Hi! I love watching your videos. LOL. back to my point, I don't know whether i've handled my GS3 horribly or what, but apparently, the battery cover's glossy material has sort of torn/burned off. So now it looks horrible. (Until i changed over to a new battery cover)
I agree. I never leave the screen on during charge cycles & it's been 2 months now & I still haven't noticed any burn in. Although it does get waited down with blotware. I know I should just root it, but I just got on 2yr agreement & rooting is not covered.
omd... I was actually searching all over the net for a review update on this phone. Thanks for this. Can someone tell me how the increased RAM in the LTE version will improve the stuff he complained about?
I got my gs3 4 days ago and I already started seeing scratches(1 on the side and 2 or 3 on the back) even that I have been babying it.Guess I will just get a rubber case.
I like the physical button a lot. I thought it wasn't too clever for the US version of GS2 to have all capacitive buttons. and when choosing between GS2 and Sensation, lack of physical button was a drawback for sensation. One big advantage. you can rest your thumb on the button without accidentally pressing anything.
Hi Michael. Can you make another After The Buzz for GS3? I believe it deserves a sequel due to the Jelly Bean update and the 4.1.2 including Multiwindow, page buddy, etc. Thanks
5 HAPPY MONTHS NOW WITH MY GS3 (INTERNATIONAL), JELLY BEAN ON BOARD, AWESOME PICTURES, GOOD SCREEN, FAST SPEEDS, GOOD BATTERY, JUST LOVING IT, THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THIS IS THE LACK OF A PHYSICAL CAMERA BUTTON :( ... NOW IT´S OUR TURN TO WAIT APPLE TO CATCH UP HAHAHA :)
Good review, BUT - don't keep swiping left to right to show that it doesn't lag!! They need to stress the phone a bit more to show if it's REALLY held up well after a few months; common its a quad-core!!
this is a great phone. Iphone 5 is perfect if you dont want to play around with it. This phone is capable of so much more and all you have to do is take some time...if that is what u like to do. I love all the forums and googles i can do figure out ways to make it better. Didnt like the keyboard, got a new one, didnt like the message app, got a new one. If options is what u want this is the phone for you. I dont want to hear about battery life cause i use mine a TON and have no issues. S3!!!!!!!
I know u dont read comments on youtube which frankly...sucks, but I think ur kinda hard on the physical buttons and on the back cover and on the phones design in general but as far as the home button, I think its FAAAAR better t have one, than to loose part of your screen (like nexus and one-x) for having the buttons there. I sold my one x for that reason alone and I looove the S3 buttons and I have absolutely no scratches on the back. What do you do with it?? Hit flies or something??? :-)
Can someone with a S3 tell me if a battery cover with the same feeling as a HTC one X exists, like a Matte one. The only thing I don't like about the S3 is the design, but if i could find a customizable case that isn't the same shiny plastic texture, i will be happy.
I just got this smart phone... don´t get me wrong, it is a great phone, but I found three things bother me: 1.- I must charge it every day 2.- The power button in the right side, it´s in the wrong place to me, I constantly pushed it by error when hold the phone. 3.-It´s too thin and slippery, that you can't grab it securely in your hand.
Have had this phone for over 15 months now and I do like it. It is fast and has a great screen. However the battery seems like it gets worse after every charge. I think they really need to rethink batteries in all cell phones now a days.
This was the first phone I ever carried for a full 2 year contract. Personally I feel Samsung got the formula right with the S3 and since then they've been going downhill. I am not speaking of the Note line , only the S series.
Vince Miniscalco Really ? I hated this damn phone ..Note that I was using the quad core version and it lagged all the time ! my new s6 is so so much better
Ehh I completely disagree with you about the physical home button..I luv it...I absolutely hate software buttons..it takes pixels and screen real estate away..and that sucks.

What did you upgrade to
Genaro S. Jaramillo-Guitton Nexus 6P. I'm very satisfied with my new phone, too.
+Gene Chiu how is the shutter speed on the 6p?
Manchester FC FTW I don't take very many photos, so I don't know how to answer that question. I do find that the default camera settings are not that good. Once I fiddled around and used the HDR+ mode, my photos turn out great.
No burn-in on our unit, which we received shortly after the US launch.
My favorite segments from this channel. Great video as always.
Btw I always use it while it's charging. Still an amazing device. Happy. First device I've never gotten bored with as of yet. Awesome video. I love this series
My friend got this phone a week before the S4 was announced. Poor guy.
Very nice, keep up the great work. After the buzz is by far, the best video series in my opinion.
These are not the droids you were looking for lol , this guy is the best.
Love the "After the Buzz", review and the host is really good his job!

I like these series of videos. It is my life ever after.
i have the global one and have to say... BEST PHONE EVA!!! I came from an iPhone to a SGS2 than to a Lumia 800 after that to a HTC One X and than to this awsome SMARTphone... Love it...
Excellent well balanced review. I like this after the buzz format.
A pretty fair review of the SG3. I'm loving mine 3 months later.
after the Buzz is just a brilliant idea
just a pure review
great keep up the good work looking frwd to more videos...:)
Rocking my Pebble Blue Galaxy S3 and loving every minute of it.
I love this series! keep it coming!

best reviewer ever, great work Michael...

You're a pro. Another great video full of thoughtful, lived-in insights.
If only Samsung would create a device that looks and feels as good as the hardware and software on the inside.
Will we see an 'After the Buzz' on the Nexus 4?
My S3(international) is coming up to 2months now, still holding well. Smart stay doesn't work for me, and yes those capacitive buttons are easy to hit accidently. Those are my only gripes, wicked phone!

its catchy and makes you wanna headbob like in "Night at the Roxbury"
Yes, it actually deppends on the sd card quality, there pretty fast ones, but the cheapest always tend to be painfully slow.
I like how you reviwed the hardware like the how camrea still wasnt scratched

Nice informative episode. The s3 seems to have hold up very well
I agree.

its the first time to see those Episodes :D
so i love the intro
how do you get that new feel back out of the software. hard reset?
try out an bumper case... i've just bought one for my Galaxy nexus and the experience is great so far!
omd... I was actually searching all over the net for a review update on this phone. Thanks for this. Can someone tell me how the increased RAM in the LTE version will improve the stuff he complained about?

This guy is awesome. I thumbs up his videos before watching it. (Y)
Great concept on reviewing!
Make an After The Buzz for Galaxy Alpha. I own one since December 22, 2014, and the trainwreck would be interesting to see acknowledged by media.
Ah....... Mr. Stark, I cant wait for your next movie :D
I love this episode, keep it up!
Just got my Samsung s 3! its amazing!
I just love this intro :)

Awesome phone. Waiting on the Note 2, though. Also, yeah, Robert Downey Jr. better watch out cause someone might steal his role.
Best phone ever, period.
I love my galaxy s3 but the battery life..... is not enough for me
I think I replaced the back cover 4 times because I was so tired of the scratches I cleaned it properly but the scratches where from holding it
More "After The Buzz" episodes, Please!
Nice video. Well done
Great video
finally another after the buzz video :-D
I have no screen burn in. Only issue I have is when it's really dark and I have a black screen there's a dark spot in the bottom left hand corner
Hey cant u guys make on the Samsung Galaxy S2 SGS2

Thinking of getting this beast

LOL, thanks for the "skip intro" button.... XD I love the intro, but it just drags on too long, IMHO
yeah which inst coming to us anytime soon haha
I LOVED MY GS2. KNOW I LOVE EVEN MORE MY GS3.
Very nice!
Thanx Tony
Why does it sound like Michael's using a phones mic to record this video 😂 man I miss this phone time goes by so quickly.
I just got this smart phone... don´t get me wrong, it is a great phone, but I found three things bother me:
1.- I must charge it every day
2.- The power button in the right side, it´s in the wrong place to me, I constantly pushed it by error when hold the phone.
3.-It´s too thin and slippery, that you can't grab it securely in your hand.
i want after the buzz fot galaxy note! it has like one year and yes, it starts to be a bit laggy.
Still the best .
i get a lot of lag with the gallery. anyone know why that is? is it due to having all my pics on my micros sd card?
I will always love the s3 lol
can we have a galaxy s3 durability test please???
Have had this phone for over 15 months now and I do like it. It is fast and has a great screen. However the battery seems like it gets worse after every charge. I think they really need to rethink batteries in all cell phones now a days.
Replacement battery are cheap on amazon
I got an X10 from 2009 x'D works fine after some custom upgrades i did
This was the first phone I ever carried for a full 2 year contract. Personally I feel Samsung got the formula right with the S3 and since then they've been going downhill. I am not speaking of the Note line , only the S series.
Yah the Notes are nice, the S series has become garbage.
Vince Miniscalco Really ? I hated this damn phone ..Note that I was using the quad core version and it lagged all the time ! my new s6 is so so much better
What are you talking about? The S series is doing better than ever
I love my Samsung Galaxy S3! ^_^
I want Samsung to announce SIV after two years when hexa-cores are in the bussiness
Xperia Play after the buzz!
i get my for christmas and it is awose :) no lag and good screen
When you said it makes phones calls pretty well if your into that kinda thing I just though me call? Yea right.
FINALLY!
never thought S3 is all that, especially for its UI lol
The Samsung ATIV S sounds good.
" I still don't like the physical home button " you like the iPhone right ?
Watching it on my new GS3♥
Ehh I completely disagree with you about the physical home button..I luv it...I absolutely hate software buttons..it takes pixels and screen real estate away..and that sucks.
you: I want seafood
S voice: Good
