I just bought one for myself , first tablet I have ever owned. The price was a major factor as was Android. I liked it so much I bought one for my wife as well. So for the money instead of buying one iPad, I got us each a Nexus 7 tablet. We both love them and enjoy sitting on the sofa reading and such. Great tablet and I highly recommend getting one for yourself.
Very nice, it is really important to hear a review from someone who's using the device for quite long. Like 3 months, instead of those who uses the device for just a couple of days. Thanks man! I'm actually waiting for my nexus 7 today. ^^
LOVE THIS! It's exceptional to hear about a product after the hype around it's release calms down...this sounds like a more realistic review of a device rather especially with majority of people having to choose a device to have for nearly 2 Years!
Yeah, I truly believe the Michael and the PocketNow staff are some of the last unbiased reviewers on the internet. I always look forward to Michael's reviews and videos especially. Keep up the good work!
I like this review. Real honest and fair. I love my N7. Had mines for about 2 months an I haven't yet need to reset it nor hasn't it frozen up.. Left a BlackBerry Playbook, an I haven't regret it yet.
Thanks for this video, I have been thinking of purchasing the nexus 7. This has helped all that I was thinking and considering when it came to other tablet devices out there.
i bought my nexus 7 32g wifi only abt a month now.. everything is great and fast.. even though the new nexus 7 has been released now i think i will still love my nexus 7 :D this video helped me alot tnx Pocketnow ;)
Do not wait! If you're thinking about getting this tablet, just go get it now! I have to struggle to put mine down since getting it when it first came out!
I have been using a Nexus 7 and I am keeping it too. I have used iPad, iPad2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10, 8.9, and all of these felt heavy after 10mins of usage. Nexus 7 easily fits in the hand and the bezel is wide enough so that I can hold from any side without having to worry about touching the screen. The best plus side is the grip on rubberized back. It does not feel like its going to slip off and you have a sense of security along with comfort, that it will not fall down any time soon.
Fantastic review! I own an iPad 3 and I have to say, the form factor is just too big! I have an old 7" Galaxy Tab P1000 which IMO, is the perfect size. I'm definitely going to get this tablet as the Vanilla experience on a Nexus devices are awesome (I own a galaxy nexus too) Thanks again for the Video, as only you and the guys over at The Verge that give unbiased reviews.. simply awesome!
This tablet in my opinion was a head of it's time back in 2012. I bought the 32gb version back in February of 2013 and it was the best tablet I've ever used during that time. After I'd say a year & a half, it started to show it's age. Once they updated it to lollipop, it was a done deal. It really didn't age well at all, performance wise. I ended up regretting getting because the software aged so badly, it became unusable.
The only few down sides I have is the Back cover seems to be clipped together, and a slight slide through with a nail will pop it open. Also, the battery charging seems buggy at times. Sometimes it does not charge through PC, or through any other microusb phone charger. The Nexus charger however charges it quickly in 1.5hours. Usage and Stand by time is great too.
I purchased this a few weeks ago. It's quite easily one of the best buys I've made this year. My only complaint is that, while the glass is quite durable, it does scratch.
this video is really helpful for me especially when mine is almost coming, i couldn't have from first because i live in D.R an i was waiting for its launch but it is taking too long and i couldn't wait anymore that's why i dicided to ask my cousing to bring me one, and you just helped me to be more inpatient haha thanks for the the vid
This is great. Someone who (im guessing) exclusively used an ipad, now exclusively using a nexus 7, and would even recommend it to first time tablet owners. ipads are cool but hopefully this will happen more and more until apple loses out and are forced to sell their products for acceptable prices.
First time watching the series this is great nice to know the Nexus 7 is still awesome but I totally wanna see more episode this be nice to along side Joe Levi's user series
I love my Nexus 7. I bought mine a while after launch and didn't have many of the issues people commonly complained about (screen issues). Hopefully this means Asus fixed or improved their later production batches.
From what I've read it should be in the serial number near the barcode (on the bottom of the box) It should begin with the model/shipment number such as C60, C70, C80 and C90, C90 is the latest model :).
I love my nexus7. I hope to get a nexus phone but subsidized free phones is too financially sound to pass so I just got the htc one s. Scared of the battery but my nexus 7 says don't worry about it .
Hey, I really want to buy one of these tablets....but I've been reading about a lot of people having serious issues with the build quality and other problems (screen lifting, dead pixels, unresponsive touch screen). Can you confirm whether or not these problems are still occuring (since the nexus has been out for a few months now..). Has the manufacturer fixed these problems yet? If these problems are still occuring I will probably go with the galaxy tab 2...Thanks :)
I've been using my Xoom for 18 months now and it's so far advanced over an iPad [even 3] it's incredible. I still love it. The iPad is abnormally huge with a small useable screen size with over an inch wasted around the screen, it's like the TVs from the early 60s. The ONLY downside is that it was made by Motorola... They are so lousy at updating and improving, I won't by from them again. I love my Razr, but why does it take 6 weeks longer than others after ICS is released?
Are the faults with the Nexus 7 fixed yet (unresponsive touchscreen, lifting of the screen, dead pixels)? Im scared of buying the device because of what I've reaD about the build issues...can anyone tell me if they've experienced any problems with the more recent shipments? Also, how does the screen compare to the galaxy tab 2 7.0? I know the nexus has a higher res screen, but what about colour wise and overall quality? What screen would you prefer?
Just picked it u 4days ago and it was not a hard decision what to buy :-) I know N7 2nd gen will come shortly but that's not of a big deal. I the 16gb brand new at lokal store for 129.90€ now that's a hell of a good deal B-) peace-out ;-)

Are you a professional journalist? Sir, I like you. I don't know what it is but this video had me enthralled.

I traded my 64 gig 3rd Gen iPad for a 32 gig WiFi only Nexus 7. And it was worth it too. This is an awesome little machine

You can get a Tablet UI for the nexus. Puts the notifications on the bottom.

OTG Cable for external storage is one way to remedy the very small storage
