      Urp, wasn't trying to fool anyone, really. Just a fan. On reflection, I think I will hold off on the Xayid on account of their anticipated makeover. I feel like it could go obsolete.

    Very cool ideas. Something solstice did say is that every unit is biological of some sort, and this would fit that quite well, however the 'metal' or whatever they use as materials for the paragon ect, are grown rather than added, every part of the ship being alive (which is why everything regens HP).
    The best probable cause is that these materials (maybe carbon fibers idk) are a biological substance these micro organisms can manipulate to heal and grow. Of course the shaping in can mold and construct all of this very quickly, infusing the creature with the Keiron organisms, allowing them to inhabit the creature.
    All the scion races also are to likely come from the same galaxy as the standard ones. None of the races are close to discovering or inhabiting the entire galaxy, even simply the 'Koprulu Sector' houses a vast quantity of these, likely being a small corner on the scale of the entire galaxy.
    Lasers and thrusters and the such are likely also simply energy, perhaps with some dead or dying Keiron cells and other waste, though most of this waste would've been converted into the energy for these weapons and gadgets.
    Other than those smallish details (which still certainly can fit with the rest of your ideas) this is a super cool idea and potential basis for a Keiron campaign.

      This is good stuff here. I understand Korprulu is a pretty big place. Love the idea that lasers and thrusters could be decay and waste. That is very cool.

    It'd be interesting if the truth was somewhere in the middle: there is some autonomy and most willingly serve, but they also enforce it for what they see as the greater good.
    In some ways, having the Keiron genuinely see themselves as benevolent saviors bringing more species into their family makes them more dangerous.
    Also I wonder if they get wifi access. I imagine they're more a collective consciousness with each little bit acting like a brain cell than a ton of individuals.

      @@ZugzwangStarcraft So hey, sorry for the delay in response, finals season is a hectic time.
      So in general, I thought each of the scion races would have come from extragalactic sources, they each entered the Kurprulu sector during the Amon conflict but only had minor territory expansion during the war. Basically, each of them gained a foothold in the chaos of that war.
      I'll start with the Keiron as that is this video's topic: The way I saw the Keiron was as a highly advanced trade empire from the andromeda galaxy with far higher biotechnological capabilities and of course space flight range than the other factions. I figured them to actually be developed to the point where they don't see their physical forms as sacred and so shape their bodies into different forms for function with the pariahs being named as such as they are the only ones who still believed they should remain in the original humanoid form their species evolved from (I actually like this version of the biotechnological ascendance better so I would disregard this origin). What I felt would fit their philosophy is one based on cornering markets for unique resources around the universe and selling them to the highest bidder with a focus around something similar to the Ferengi philosophy of "The great material continum" but instead of just being focused on profit, it is more focused around controlling the highest amount of the "great river" as possible. I think that part fits well with a species that became macroscopic players off of quite literally trading for a unified existence with other lifeforms. A focus on tactical expansion of resource and industry holdings while looking out for unique things and beings they can: merge with; sell to distant markets; and corner the market on to build diplomatic ties would be my view for them
      For the Genetron: I saw them as a terminator like android army constructed by a civilization for a world war to fight one another. The devastation of the war, however, killed the biological species that created them leaving both sides without organic leadership on a devastated irradiated world. Both armies, without a reason to keep fighting, instead got together and tried to figure out what they should do with themselves now that they had nothing to fight for. Taking in the catastrophic state of what war had caused and the lack of anything changing on their dead world, the Genetron forces united in the mission that their main mission would be to explore the wider universe and, instead of using their honed technology for war that could create more desolate wastelands, they would instead act to protect and study anything unique they could find. With a new scientific drive, the newly forged Genetron civilization left their dead world and spent many eons exploring their universe and gathering precious data, however, their universe did come to an end. Luckily for them, they found the temple of unification and actually went through it into our universe. They at first deemed the Kurprulu sector as too hostile to bother colonizing but they left listening posts on biodiverse worlds and around interesting stellar phenomenon. When Amon began destroying things, the Genetron returned to defend these gems of valuable data primarily countering the Mobius foundation on uncolonized worlds. Many Dominion colonists have been very surprised to find worlds marked for habitation thought to be burned instead teeming extra life guarded by strange machines that claim these worlds as their new protectorates.
      Lastly the Xayid: In this case I was actually thinking a theological empire of essence shaping organisms trained to do so by something akin to a Wild God of Warcraft lore. Basically, in their ancient history, the Xayid tell tales of being visited by a wounded god who crashed on their world. Although a primitive culture barely into tribal development, the Xayid took it upon themselves to heal and protect this god who rewarded them by teaching them how to shape and change the essence of their bodies and of others (while the zerg absorb it, they instead change it psionically, like the scavengers "praying" structures into shape). After refining their skills and judging them masters, the god pointed towards the "spiral of stars" in the night sky (the milky way galaxy from their vantage point in the large magellic cloud) and said that one day is kin would need the Xayid fight a great war foreseen in their future. He explained that, although they were gods, numbers would be needed to defeat this foe and they were too few. He implored them to hone their forms and skills for that day and the Xayid race, catapulted from their tribal state to near a modern power level spread across their planet converting other lifeforms to their cause and charging them with the sacred mission of perfecting their arts. Over the millenia, many disparate factions formed all believing their shaped forms were the best leading to a fractured society of waring theocratic nations across their worlds (each one of the production structures might have been all that was produced by one faction. Like a faction of fliers vs heavy beasts kind of thing). That all changed, however, when a lone Zerg Cerebrate, sent on a deep exploration mission came to their empire. The Zerg, with their unity darkened the skies and overran the positions of these factions nearly wiping them out until one humble scavenger implored the tribes to unify once again against this greater threat. Combining their various fighting disciplines and forms, the Xayid race worked together to overwhelm and kill the Cerabrate and, after it was dead, shaped some of the now feral Zerg organisms into new Xayid forms better equipped to travel intergalactic distances. Believing that this massive swarm was threat the ancient god had spoken of, the humble scavenger, now elevated to living saint by the unified Xayid peoples led his people out into the stars to go on the holy crusade to aid their gods in the spiral of stars. The Xayid are ultimately a religiously driven band of zealots that change the form of their bodies and those useful animals that they find to solve any problem they come across and are on a pilgrimage through the Kurprulu sector searching for their mythical gods.
      Like I said before, this is just my thoughts on these races and what interesting story they could have. It is up to the developers of this mod if any of this interests them or if I'm way off base. It would definitely be fun to write campaigns for these three as there is always the opportunity for things like Grant's custom campaign manager could be used for something like that to create a proper story, even if it is fan made for the future of the Starcraft world

    @Taron_HaiTar 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Although it is a great backstory, even with some cool and original concepts that I will "borrow" for my version of the backstory, the scope is too big. We don't need to go Inter-galactic, it could all just fit into OUR galaxy, if we just reduce scale A BIT. Also some stuff would conflict with the lore, such as: When do the Keiron encountered Koprulu races? Because if it was after The End War, then "Protoss wants help against the Zerg" is invalid, as they have relative peace with the Swarm and they could just ask Swarm and Dominion for help, or deal with it themselfs! But if it was before... the amount of effort to fit your version of Keiron, WITHOUT breaking the canon completly, would be too much to be done. Only the lore masters coupled with VERY expirienced fitting fanfiction/custom campaign plot writers could fit it in the periods BEFORE The End War. I also have complaint about Terrans - how they didn't meet the Keiron yet?! They already should've skirmished with them, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS! So I recommend to include, that they interested to meet any MAJOR Terran goverment, because they already taken HUGE interest with them after "First encounters", that mostly was skirmishes. So that are my criticism about this backstory. If you want to hear more or listen to my ideas and version, feel free to post in replys under this comment. Although I need to find that sketch of a version, it should be eithee in my phone's notes, or in one of your videos, so that might take AWHILE, sorry if you have to wait!
