I was very impressed with it. A high-tech psionic species. I kinda feel like the look was influenced by the predator franchise, but with philosophy of a D&D paladin or a samurai. I hope we see more of it one day.
It's a re-match, so let's call it a grudge match for fun! Asur and Nyb recently gave us a tremendous clash of a game, so I was keen to cast this one too. Only this time, Nyb is going to show us his protoss and Asur is playing the APL. At the end of the game, there's a discussion on some of the more subtle APL abilities and what they might mean for the custom meta.
The flare was always a thing. In the campaign, there was a mission made specifically to abuse the combination of speed while unsieged and own vision to do quick timed artillery raids and retreat to high ground at speed. Pretty cool.
Oh it was eh, I kinda figured. That's just crazy good for p v p. Though I guess the fact that we haven't seen a ton of flares kinda suggests I'm overreacting.
Still out there! They are undergoing a revamp right now, I understand. Sort of getting the Genetron treatment, steps are being taken to make them more unique. But in the meantime, the xayid are still playable in their current incarnation. Wait a second, sounds like you may already know this...
@@ZugzwangStarcraft unfortunately not at this point but you did mention it in your older videos that I rewatched a few months ago and that why I know the race is going to get a revamp
The APL is the UPL (United Powers League), just renamed to Atlantic Powers League to avoid confusion with the UED (united Earth Directorate). The APL is like a precursor faction from the year 2229 and is from earth. So it is definitely outside the SC2 timeline. you either have to accept that this kind of match is just for fun, or if you need lore you have to envision some kind of time fracturing event.

APL is so ugly, I feel it's design don't belong to starcraft 2.
If Protoss were actually a custom race, people wouldn't accept the Disruptor in its current state.
