@ThatsClassicTV Wait a second as I recall when Rebecca Schaeffer died My Sister Sam was already cancelled and off the air by May of 1988. She was murdered July of 1989 which was just over a year later. So if she didn't show up to work as Jeremy Miller says it must have been for another project or show? I know she was supposed to be in The God Father part III.
I did two episodes of Growing Pains, and Jeremy and I became great friends. I spent lots of time at his house and on set. This interview is great. Lots of smiles, and I’m glad to see him doing so well!

Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I was pretty surprised to hear about all the kids from different tv shows hanging together as well. Pretty crazy! Jeremy really didn’t hold back on his struggle and hopefully influences others to quit👍
My favorite Ben episode is the Meet the Seavers episode it's so creative and brilliant. My favorite part in the episode is when the set guy carries Ben over his shoulder. The set guy picks Ben up and carries him over his shoulder into the set in front of the audience and puts him down behind like a silhouette screen. It's so great!

The episode where Mike and Ben went out searching for paste for Ben's school project was a big favorite of mine. I also really loved the episode where Chrissy was allowed to stay up late so she could see how boring it was, only to have a series of unusual events make it seem like there was a non-stop party every night after her bedtime.

He was born on October 21, 1976 and I was born on October 27, 1976. So I really identified with "Ben". The relationship "Ben" had with "Maggie" reminded me of the relationship I had with my mother too. "Maggie" even called "Ben" pumpkin sometimes, which is what my mother called me. Jeremy mentioned the episode where "Ben" and "Mike" go looking for paste, that's always been one of my favorite episodes too. These interviews bring back some nice memories. Thank you John.
John, John, John (My Brady Bunch reference with your name) You have the most amazing interviews with the best actors and shows when I was growing up or was a young adult. I was 20 when Growing Pains premiered and of course I watched it and have a few seasons on DVD. I spent a lot of time during my childhood watching these classic 70's, 80's and even 90's shows. And even now I watch the reruns. I LOVE your channel. Keep it going!

Not poking holes in Jeremy Miller's personal story, but My Sister Sam was cancelled in 1988 and the Rebecca Shaffer thing happened over a year later, in 1989. Now, it's likely since he was so young he just has the timeline wrong or the facts confused, but I don't think it was a matter of her not showing up for set. With that said, huge respect for Mr. Miller whose work I really liked on Growing Pains, so in no way do I want to sound like I'm trashing him with this comment. The fact remains she was a friend of his and I respect that.

Kind of sad though that when I was watching it there's the reference to the Sandy drunk driving episode, and hours later we get the news Matthew Perry died. In any event, love your channel and interviews and I'm browsing through to see more! You have great insights and knowledge that is impressive..
Would’ve liked to hear about his other co star Andrew Koenig who played Boner. How he felt about the whole situation and how was he on set and to work with. Thanks for sharing.😊
I enjoyed this interview with Jeremy but I must admit I didn't like his character on Growing Pains. The writers made his character sarcastic and disrespectful. I much prefer him as his authentic self. Great to hear he conquered his addiction and was sad to hear about him losing his money.
I can see how you might feel that way about his character. He has definitely been through a lot in his life and seems thankful to be who he has become. Glad you enjoyed the interview😀
