Hell ya! This video helped me out applied for the Local Plu68 in Houston. Just took the math test and got a 95!! Mines was 25 questions, filled with adding, subtracting, multiplying with mixed fractions, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals.
When was the appt for your test? How long after the results did you receive the letter of approval? Was this for United Association? I currently finished my application with them and I’m setting up my date to take the test. Was this video very similar to the test you took? I’m trying to study & hopefully pass the test with a good score.
I'm starting my apprenticeship in a week and I found this very useful. I don't plan on going union as I sit right now but this is just helpful as an entry to the field period. thank you man
Nov 1 2024 currently 3:09 am doing some last minute reviewing and studying for my test later on today! This video and your other part have been extremely helpful! Will be reviewing again right before test time! Hoping my time working on this was not in vain
I wish you could show us how to solve some of the problems without the calculator and write them out. Some of us can't use calculators during the test which makes it even more harder. But i appreciate the video
Passed two tests on my GED didn’t graduate HS because no matter how much I did they failed me, they do with children who have an IEP. Anyway the last two tests I have is Math and Science. I already failed the math twice and have one chance on it, I failed science left and have two tries left. I scheduled a test for the 28th of this month. And now seeing this I realize I will never get into the Union as a plumber. That’s all I wanted to do. But I’m literally retarted when it comes to math. I can’t even do the simplest addition or subtractions without having to count on my fingers. So good luck to anybody that can do this and get it done. Lemme know how it is being a union plumber or welder, pipe fitter, boilermaker. Good luck. I’m out.
Most of the unions are highly selective, they make it sound like they have all these spots but its not true.Maybe start by being a helper with non union and get in later

Thank you for this video and link. I'm preparing to write the test to join the plumbers union here In Canada. How similar do you think the tests will be?
I had a question on 9 ,10 and 45. For 9 and 10 do u have to put the remainder in the answer like for 10 I got 11.02r60 or do u just leave it as 11.02. For 45 do u leave it 2140.875 or do u round it up to 2140.88 that for all the help really appreciate it
@@topsawI passed but I still wasn’t selected for the union because I didn’t have experience… but I thought that was the whole point of an apprenticeship; to go to school and work for 5 years and become a journeyman/plumber pipefitter

Antonio Trujillo but I bet similar. Of course it won’t be the same. This is just a “sample”test. This sample just gives you and ideas and the video just explains on how to break down and solve the questions.
Hey I am having a hard time calculating simple fractions in my head.. 10 7/8" - 4 3/4". Any suggestions? I've also done these problems like division problems that have decimals and forget where to put them?
Maybe try to run it in your head for a few minutes every day. Start with paper in front of you and write out the common denominator. Once you get it down on paper, try doing in mentally. It doesn't need to be alot of time just repeated every day for a few minutes
Multiply the numerator and the denominator of the smaller fraction, in this case 3/4, so that you can get the lowest common denominator, in this case it would be the denominator of the larger fraction, 7/8. So you multiply 3/4 by 2 on both sides. 3*2 and 4*2 giving you 6/8. Now that the smaller fraction matches the larger fraction you simply subtract the whole numbers 10-4=6 and subtract the numerator of both fractions 7-6=1. The denominator stays as 8 so your fraction is 1/8 and you're final answer is 6 1/8.
Freddy Morales yes I took it and failed the first time cause I didn’t have no study guide or any source but yes it’s 50 questions and very similar to this.
