If the view of your settlements and slaves we got around the 15 minute mark was reflective of how you were handling the slaves in general I have to say that you absolutely botched it. The good news is that given how good you thought the slave economy was already you'll likely be very pleased to hear how much better it can be.
For maximum slave revenue use the following steps:
    1. Only use one province for slaves. It just makes more sense. Why build slave pens in multiple provinces before it's necessary? If you have slaves in the Chill Road and slaves in Iron Mountains and neither is full then not only are the slaves not providing you with the best value pro rata but you've wasted extra thousands on building the infrastructure to get the best value out of them twice and you've denied yourself a building slot. If you take Ghrond early on just build normal economy stuff there; The gold mine, the obsidian quarry, the industry buildings. In the early days, while you're still taking the steps to build all the buildings to maximise your profit and capacity and still dealing with decline these things can provide you with a stable, reliable economy which facilitates the creation of your slave economy. So at that point it makes no sense to be putting them anywhere else. In addition this would alleviate a complaint you had about public order; Obviously the lack of corruption is the main problem with public order in new territory with Morathi, but the reason you continued to have problems across the board is because slaves negatively impact it and you were sending them everywhere rather than making them a localised issue which you could deal with in that one location.
    2. Identify a single province with 4 settlements rather than 3. This means that a) You will have the highest possible capacity for slaves and b) You will be able to build 4 slave pens. If you can also build roads that's great as they will also improve the amount of money you make from slaves (in addition to boosting your trade). Keep in mind that not all 4 settlement provinces are created equal for this purpose, however and there's a perfect example of a good and bad 4 settlement province for this purpose in the shape of the two original legendary lords; Malekith starts off in a 4 settlement province which is ideal for this particularly since, if you eliminate Mung early, you'd only need to build walls in Rackdo Gorge to protect yourself from any possible incursions from the south. For Morathi it's more of an issue given that, while you do start with four settlements, two of them have ports and you'll probably want walls on all of them - at least early on - given the number of enemies you're surrounded by. (To add insult to injury here, Malekith also starts with The Black Flood immediately below him which is almost as good as Iron Mountains).
    3. Maximise your income from slaves. In addition to lord skills, technologies and buildings you can also get slave income increases from Assassins, who have a skill which increases the income % by incrementally greater amounts as you put 3 skill points into the "increase slave income" skill, with the last increase becoming available at level 10.
    4. Lower slave decline rate. There are a number of ways to do this and it's actually not all that difficult to get it down to 0% total. The Slave Traders Palaces in Karond Kar will give you -5% decline factionwide, Malikith's Motivation Through Fear skill will give -10% factionwide, the A Life of Dread technology gives you -15% factionwide. In addition Helebron's Plaything's of the Queen gives -20%, but only to the local province which obviously isn't much use unless you want to garrison her there for some reason. Given that you'll already have your level 2 slave pen in your capitol of the province that's holding slaves, which gives you 50% to start with, you can combine that with the above factors to reach a base -80% decline rate. This is where you just need to get yourself a couple of masters... The Sychophantic Schemer skill which they can get at level 6 offers a -10% decline rate and is stackable. Pop two of them in your province and now you're down to 0% decline. I have noticed that you still seem to lose small numbers despite this... Not every turn, but every now and then you'll notice you're not quite at 100%, although it hasn't dropped by more than 100 or so overall. In addition to this if you have a garrisoned lord spend multiple turns in a province with full slaves they'll also get a -5% decline trait. Regardless, the fact that Masters allow you to essentially eliminate slave decline make it worth building their building tree whenever you have a free slot to increase master capacity, given that...
    5. Use your Black Arks to maximise slave intake! Yes, we all know they're absolutely fantastic for allowing recruitment wherever you go. But unless you're one of those people who tries to expand territory in multiple different directions at the same time one or two should be more than enough to allow you to do that. So why not send your Black Arks out along the far flung coast lines of the world? You'll be so powerful that most people will probably be happy to make peace with you after you've hit a couple of settlements and even if they aren't, what're they gonna do? Come all the way from the opposite side of the world to attack your home lands, where your local armies will be able to pick them off one by one while their own lands are ravaged by local enemies? Send army after army in futile attempts to sink your Black Arks, given the considerable defensive buffs you get from Unassailable, the high quality armies you'll be able to field thanks to the massive upkeep reductions and the speed at which you can easily recruit tier 7 chevron replacements troops if you do happen to lose (or merge) any? I particularly like going along the coast of Norsca for this, as the absence of walled settlements makes them easy targets. (As an added bonus, not directly related to the slave economy, repeated strikes against Norsca will ingratiate you to a lot of the Order factions which are the natural allies of the High Elves, meaning that when you choose to invade Ulthuan they will struggle to draw other factions in assist them against you.)
    6. Once you ARE full of slaves, THEN you can move on to a second province. You'll find that, once you've got the requisite number of Masters in place to knock your decline rate down to 0, it gets filled up really quick. When it does your best move is to immediately get started on a second province. If need be demolish your pre-existing economic buildings in your second province of choice; No matter what you already have, a full slave economy there will obliterate it for value.
In addition to the above is a final tip which involves what you could call the "dark arts" of slave economy and some players might find distasteful. Consequently use it - or don't - at your own discretion.
An advantage to putting all of your slaves in one province is that the public order will tank there. This means there will be frequent rebellions. You could take steps to get this under control so they don't happen... Or you could leave an army there and kill them every time they pop up... Enslaving them in the process. A quick and easy way to regularly top up your slave numbers, in addition to providing a good opportunity to level up new lords and, of course, those extra Masters and Assassins you'll be using for the steps above. Or, if you want to be even more despicable, you could always take that province up above you from the Mung, with its 100% Chaos corruption and then do nothing about that - or even raid your own lands there - and just get rebellion after rebellion. By the time your lord and a character or two have the "Insane" trait you should be getting a rebellion every single turn.

Imo spears and darkshards /w shields is your best army comp in your early game (turn: 1-40) its cheap, it can cheese sieges with a minimum of 2 bolt throwers on all difficulties. 1 lord, 1 hero, 8 spears, 8 darkshards, 2 bolt throwers. Sometimes +1 spears -1 darkshards. Sieging vs Lizardman is so easy with their monsters not able to climb walls.

    • @hannibal9532
      @hannibal9532 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Darkshards with shields? 8 spears? Dude you dont need them, early game DE army should contain max 5 dreadspears, your heroes, if you can get artillery get artillery and the rest can be simple darkshards. Regular darkshards are better than the ones with shields coz they are cheaper, also only added strenght due to shield are better shirmishing which is not a big deal. I played legendary DE campaign not that long ago and army comp with shit load of darkshards can carry you all the way to doomstack.

    So as for the pros:
    1. Powerful economy due to slaves? Yeah DE are one of the richest races.
    2. Trade? Coz you are DE noone rly like you even fellow druchii.
    3. Easy confederations? Only if you have loads of money. In my campaign Lokhir usually chooses to die rather than join me
    4. Black arks are amazing? Yes they are
    Cons:
    1. Public order issues? In early game PO issues can be used to your advantage since DE's strenght lies partly in their heroes you can just use them to farm experience and slaves. In late game (in my personal experience in legendary campaign) only red climate cities have these problems.
    2. Yeah suitable climate is always an issue.
As for army composition, I dont really understand why you put darkshards with shields since they have higher price than regular ones and the only real value of this is shield. Cavalry in Warhammer is not so strong, well depends what factions you play, but DE's cavalry simply lack killing ability. Your late game armies also lack heroes. Sorceress can kill so many with their magic (especially with lore of fire), Death Hags are really good fighters and helps with replenishment a lot, you essentially replenish your army instantly. Also keep in mind that Masters can reduce slaves decline rate and it can drop to 0%. Some say this is cheese, idk personally.

Does having a few provinces with extra slaves income works better for whole economy? I did it with Malekith, some provinces are basically huge slave pits, while others focuses more on recruiting(not so much as a Black Arks thou) heroes capacity and so on. Also it would be nice to mention - if you put some Master heroes(with lvl 6 skill) in your province, it will decrease slave dying rate and boost PO a little bit. Also I didn't enjoy Assasin heroes in army and simply put them in most profitable cities to even further boost slaves income(or doing campaign map stuff). I NEED MORE SLAVES
P.S. maybe I have gone ahead a little bit and you would mention it later on Army Guide anyway lul

There were like 4 turns since then that they didn't sent me 1-2 full stacks from Ulthuan. Now they're sending 8 full stacks at the same time invading my 3 provinces at three points. It's ... not fun to manually kill their stacks left and right like I'm playing ping pong while not getting anywhere.

Hellebron has possibly one of the worst starts in the game, due to how constricting it is. To complete your initial province, you have to be at war with 2 factions in different directions. You need slaves to trigger death night, and you also need money. Only possible way to have any money is to take Ghrond and take Ghrond fast. If you waste any time at all, you are going to allow Ghrond to build up a big army fast, and you might have Mung and/or Aghol or even Clan Septik come by and be annoying. I've had Septik just plague me for the heck of it and talk about a massive problem :p Since the new dlc, the high elves all come at you by turn 35-40. Like literally they all send armies at you, meaning you got to defend against wave after wave of high elf armies of 12-15 units that are just annoying to wreck your small cities and run around not wanting to fight.
It is doable, but the death night mechanic just flat out sucks. I love Hellebron, so I deal with it. :)

    • @Snakeit100
      @Snakeit100 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) You have to be more powerful than them, usually >/=100+ relations, they also usually need to be militarily weaker than you (as in less and weaker armies), sometimes a bribe (when confed. is yellow) will get them if you have a large enough bribe, if confed. is green you can have them pay you to confederate because they'll confederate without a bribe. Dragging allies into wars they can't win is a great way to reduce their military forces so keep and eye out for opportunities there.
2)Don't expand and farm the rebellions for slaves and levels on your lords. You don't need to conquer Ulthuan by turn 30. Focus on stabilizing your province then start eying your neighbors.
      3) Depends on the hero unit. Masters and Assassins are best used on the campaign map for their slave, growth and public order benefits. Death Hags are great fighters and provide replenishment for the army. Sorceresses, particularly Fire Sorcs, are great for combat. Fire Storm, and Burning Head for unarmored units, destroys just everything that isn't super resistant to magic or fire.
4)Same as 2). Don't expand until you stabilize your income.
5)Rituals are in the Ritual tab near your next turn button and provide factionwide benefits depending on which faction you are. Vortex is the "story" campaign where as mortal empires is the "free play" campaign.
      6) Level them up. Only spend points on the mount that you want otherwise they're wasted points. Malekith doesn't need his Cold One, Chariot and Dragon mount. Only get the one that you intend to use.
7)Build building with Untainted to minimize their corruption or, you know, just massacre them. No Skaven = no corruption YESYES!
      8) Starting units aren't that strong and the game favors ranged over melee units. This favorability increases as the difficulty rises since the AI gets bonus to their melee stats and leadership while you do not. A few melee units to keep enemy units away from your Darkshards and Shades is usually good enough. Basically use Dreadspears hold the line and forget about the others. Late game units like Blackguard and Executioners are much better but Shades will likely be the backbone of your armies.
9)You can corner camp with Skaven to abuse their low leadership to chase them off the map. Other DE armies depend on their composition but if you make the majority of you army Darkshards in the early game and checkerboard them in rows you can minimize losses against melee armies. You can also use your lords to waste enemy ammo if they're ripping you apart from afar. Just have your lord run around within they're firing range doing figure eights and you shouldn't take too much damage. When they charge your Darkshards will rip them apart.

No value due to heavily modded game. I would understood if you used SFO Grimhammer and called you video Dark Elf Campaign in SFO...

Hardly heavily modded. Some minor mods to change things I don’t personally enjoy. Have you watched my essential mod list?
