Did I understand this correctly? You got to voice Archaon the Everchosen in Total War WArhammer I and II?
How to play as chaos:
- Awaken norscan tribes for sigvald and vassalize Wulfrik.
-Ally with Clan Moulder so they can ruin dwell.
-Play Whack a mole with the empire starting with electors
-Play whack a mole with Brettonia.
-Get sword of khaine for Kholek
-Laugh as Kholek solos a 20 stack himself.
-Look at long campaign goal and then nope out.
tl;dr: Play whack a mole with the sword of khaine.
I only awakaned one tribe and i did the campaign in 100 turns. (the short). I burned the entirity of Ulthuan. I think awakening tribes is too time consuming and the good factions get too strong. you just rush south and burn them all :D
My favorite is when I awaken the tribes then they decide to go to war with each other followed by confederating like HOLD THE BAMBOOZLE YOU BACK ICEY BACKWATERS.
Just a note, the attrition suffered by being close to another army is only for maurader units, if you phase out maurader units (which you should do eventualy most the time) you can have your armies stacked on each other with 0 issue
Was gonna comment this! Something else noteworthy that I believe he missed is that there's no additional upkeep for having multiple hordes (the "Whose Da Boss?" or "supply lines" debuff), unlike the other factions.
Also get rid of the marauder building.
@@ecabernet why? there is no building limit is there, so what is the point of destroying it?
@@simonphoenix3789 Reduces Upkeep, and all the Units provided by it will be phased out eventually, as even though the ranged cavalry are your only real ranged options, their damage is just too miniscule to really warrant keeping them around, especially due to the attrition they cause
@@simonphoenix3789 Every additional Building cost more Horde growth. So destroying marauder Building and then replace it with the Chaos Warrior building is a much better start.

Chaos strategy as a person that plays chaos a lot.
Main points: Get sigvald, dont vassalize the north, make military allies, kill isabella
Sigvald is the weakest of the 3 legendary lords, but his faction effects and lord effects are much better. Specifically, the diplomatic relations with norsca, which I will explain later. Also his starting units are generally better as well since he gets 2 chosen units and the hellcannon.
Dont vassalize the north, or any others for that matter. Vassalization sounds nice right? Its like military alliance, expect they give you money per turn. Wrong, it is really bad once you get to the later game and it comes from one simple fact. Vassal succession. It doesnt matter if you are literally the rank 1 strongest faction in the game, sooner or later they rebel. This is specifically bad for chaos because you cant claim anything. The only way to make sure the empire doesnt recolonize everything and become a game of whackamole is to get your allies to settle for you. But if they are a vassal, they might have literally half of the empire, rebel, then come chasing you down. Also, there is an "end game event" that makes your norse vassals rebel 100%. I think a norscan military ally doesnt turn during this event, but will double check
Make military allies instead. They are like vassals, except they dont rebel against you. One big reason is that you can decide to not involve them in wars. Vassals follow you to war no matter what, and whether you declare war or someone else does, they can rebel. With military alliance, you can just not involve them and use them as just replenishment posts. Also, even if you did try to get them to join and they refuse, they wont turn on you, just end the alliance. Specifically, try to make the hellpit skaven near your start your ally. Another is to just wait for the norse to become one. Then just burn the empire a bunch and with the sigvald dip bonus, they will ally with you sooner or later with wulfrik, throgg, and the mighty surtha ek. Most evil factions can potentially join, but it all depends. Azhag for example might either attack or be attacked by your skaven allies.
Kill isabella with archaon and kholek. Killing her gives you the regeneration trait. As chaos does not have spells that heal, and the only way to heal is to use potions or the chalice (which wont heal you to full), getting regeneration on archaon and kholek makes them become much stronger. Also recommend killing volkmar with archaon since it makes his chosen stack even stronger.

Oh actually, order tide isnt as bad anymore so dont worry about it too much. The only annoying part is bretonnia, because they can confederate with repanse and you have to travel to the south past waters or the badlands. And chaos attrition only happens if you have norscan units. So 3 stacks of dragon ogre shaggoths and chosen wont suffer attrition

I used to advocate getting Regeneration from Isabella but honestly it slows your momentum down a lot trying to farm it when it really isn't necessary. Half the time she doesn't even spawn because for whatever reason the AI prefers to just roll around with Vlad and generic lords anyway.
In my experience the LLs of Chaos are so absurdly strong in melee that unless you let them get shot by something like handgunners or volley guns for an extended period of time they will seldom come near to death, and even when that does happen, there's a strong possibility you've equipped them a health potion. Even the health potions I usually end up giving to my sorcerers and exalted heroes because these guys need it a lot more.

Honestly I think Chaos is a good starting Horde Faction because it's easy to get started and it's very simple compared to BeastMen
I agree... Just bought the DLC (because of the Chaos Champions DLC) and I must say they're really easy to play. Now, Beastmen aren't too hard either, in my honest opinion, but because of the Favor (for unlocking new units and unit caps) they're harder than the... bland Chaos warriors.
In Warhammer 3, however, they're much more interesting.

I found it quite fun to just play CoW for fun as I find the lack of empire management relaxing. But it can be very basic at times. Especially on Easy when you just roll over everything in a tidal wave of Chaos Chosen xD

Yeah it was also pretty disappointing that getting the long victory is the same as getting the short (achievement wise), and chaos is probably one of the easier factions to get it with

Playing caos is really Fun once you Stack shagoths and daddy kolek with kaine

One strategy I have for taking the dwarves is when you come up in the first settlement you make it look like you are going for their capital so the army goes back there and then take the first settlement easy. You could probably modify this to take out the army, but I don’t feel the need to in my games.

Chaos normally ends with me running around razing everything for eternity because no one wants to ally and I can’t settle so it’s just me living forever being a nuisance to enemy settlements.
I feel like it’d be easier to play Warriors of Chaos with a friend.
One friend chaos, the other - norsca.
If you want to be especially efficient, short victory only requires killing Reikland and Couronne, so you may as well beeline them. Once you've fought through Kislev you can get into the water at Erengrad and sail around or raid and raze your way to Reikland largely unopposed, and then it's a stone's throw to Couronne. After that, you just have to have razed 50 settlements. With your 2 main foes dead, that's a lot easier than if you piss around in the North / trying to get the SoK while they build up to tier 5 and get Grail Guardians and Helstorm Rocket Batteries. If you do it right you can get them dead before turn 50.
If you use the cheaper troops and focus on getting up to tier 5, the chaos knights buildings for 300 passive income plus the 8% all upkeep and extra recruit ranks building in those first 50 turns you don't have to NEED to have battles and raiding will be enough. I find that needing to battle is what slows me down.
I strongly recommend trying to get as many hordes and heroes as you can and constantly replacing lords for the Knowledgeable trait. Magic is extremely important so winds reserve is your life blood, which is pertinent considering magic in Warhammer is formed by the essence of Chaos.
basicaly make Kholek god and have fun with the other lords while kholek carries the team to as much destruction as you can cause before you give up due to boredom

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised that their lack of unique features was because Creative Assembly wanted to save them for TW3. With the addition of the Daemon factions, it would be the perfect time for it.

this guide is no help. i prefer step by step. the beginning is pretty hard with chaos. which lord should i chose etc.
If you want the easiest Chaos start then Kholek is the best since he can carry early battles like a breeze. Take over norsca first since that gets you some allies and passive income then attack lesser factions to build power. Rush unlocking the other legendary lords and get those 3 armies on the go by using your main army to recruit and passing the units out. Once thats done take on the empire and just raze your way south. send somene for the sword of khaine if you wanna be extra then just burn everything :)
