@1010010111001010 My gripe with Arch is his smug, meandering and excessive use of alliteration which can take him a long time to get to the point. He is not succinct in any way, shape, or form.
The Sundering Trilogy would have likely helped you here. Malekith poisoned Bel Shanaar not at the shrine but back at Tor Anroc. It also took years for his armour to be forged by Hotek, and Morathi commanded the Druchii during that time. Malekith took command relatively late in the civil war. Just some points I thought you might like to know.
Thanks a lot Malekith 👌🏻😃 You are right. As this was an overview video I didn't include some of the details. I didn't remember the shrine thing though. Again, thank you for sharing that info!

@@cameronroy2129 Well not really most of the best kings in history has done some real fucked up shit to claim power, regicide, patricide, and the like are beyond common.
I discovered a minor error within the story as it's presented here. It was'nt Caledor Dragontamer the mage who fought Malekith after Bel-Shanaars death, because he was locked inside the vortex he created. The Caledor that actually fought Malekith was the one originally called Imrik, and he was was a decendant of Caledor Dragontamer, and he took his ancestors' name to honour him when he ascended to become Phoenix King. He was called the Warrior because he was more of a soldier and lacking in his ancestors' gift of magic. For reference to his deeds and character please look to the 2nd part of the Sundering trilogy, witch is also called "Caledor". I must say though that i understand the confusion in this, especially since there's also a third Caledor, wich was Caledor the Warriors' son and heir and who fought the Dwarves in the war of Vengeance wich happend a while after the Sundering
Remember, Maleneth is supposed to be the “Good Guy”. You know, the guy who dabbled in dark magic, supporters slaughtered the princes, and wears armor that would make a chaos warrior blush is the paragon. The Elven gods were just playing around.
ET contradicts so many things so badly that it's impossible to reconcile it with WHFB. I can only think of it as an alternate timeline where everything you knew was different and all the characters were stupid

Prince 2: Also, isn't the next Everqueen Malekith's sister? We're just going to let him marry his sister? Prince 3: Ew, no. Asuryan: Sure man, let see if you're crispy enough...Nope, just medium-rare. Better luck next time, whenever that may be! Malekith: *screams in agony and sizzles* Morathi: Let me grab the salt...I meant armour.
Thanks for asking! Malekith always thought he was the rightful Phoenix King. During his travels in the rest of the world, he found an ancient artifact called the Circlet of Iron. "It awoke in him a dark curiosity, and from that day forth Malekith turned his will to studying the forbidden depths of magic - the power of Chaos itself." Perhaps that´s when his desire/ambition for the throne reemerged and finally acted upon it, leading to his betrayal.
Thanks for the response. I still don't quite get it though. One minute, he wants to seize the throne in order to take down the pleasure cults. Next minute, he's allied to them. What happened to him, that he made such a drastic and sudden u turn regarding his choice of allies?

Caledor I was not a mage I believe, as I can’t recall him casting spells in The Sundering. The pleasure cults were also dedicated to Atharti or that’s what is believed, so that Slaanesh picture was not a good choice. But maybe they were so obscene that it might have interested the god of pleasure as well. As for the rest of the video, great job.
Fantastic video! Thank you for your hard work! Just finished a Mortal Empire campaign as Malekith and this video reassured me that I made the right choice! Long live the Druchii!
@The Book of Choyer. In book three of the Sundering Trilogy their is an elf from Calador named Imrik. He is the descendent of Calador Dragon Tamer (The mage who created the Vortex). When civil war breaks out in Ulthuan Imrik is elected by the other princes to assume the mantel of Phoenix king, this causes him to take the name Calador. Though not a mage, Imrik was a badass dragon prince. But really the video was great, that was just my own little nerdy nitpick :)
Yes, it is locked at 50fps, this was one of the older videos. The most recent ones are at 1440p @60fps 😃 Thanks for your words my friend! Welcome to the channel.
whenever I see or hear about Darkelfs I think about the movie Brimstone 2016, full of suffering, debauchery and cruelty, specially the part when the husband gets his intestines cut out and slowly dying while having his intestines wrapped around his neck.
Fitting, im starting my conquest of Ulthuan right now. After uniting Naggaroth I assalted Ulthuan and I have Caledor, Nagarythe and the Fenix Gate, and defeated Tyrion twice. ULTHUAN WILL BE MINE!
The high elves betrayed nagarythe for honorably following Aenaerion even when he drew the sword of khaine?! To me That alone is a mark of loyalty... Then they followed malekith even when his right to kingship was denied they followed the true king. Then when he decided to take his right they followed him through it and when he decided to live in a frozen wasteland they still followed him. The druchi are the most weirdly loyal race/kingdom ever while the asur seems to be the biggest assholes ever.
Right... Now read the high elves side of things. Three main factors contributed to the princes not choosing Malekith: 1- If Malekith was chosen the next Phoenix king he would have to have a child with the Everqueen, who was the daughter Aenarion had with the previous Everqueen, she was therefore his half sister. The child of both if it was a girl would probably become the next everqueen, this creeped the princes and so they wanted to avoid setting a precedent for a hereditary monarchy with the blood lines of the Phoenix king and the everqueen degenerating over time through endogamy. 2- Malekith popularity was based on him being like his father, who was Aenarion? Although undeniably the greatest hero the elves have ever had he was the epitome of tragedy because he fell to Khaine's bloodlust in his seek for revenge, cursing all his bloodline... And malekith was like his father, the princes feared he would fall to the madness of khaine (and he eventually did). They also wanted to rebuild in times of peace and malekith was not the leader for this job. 3-Morathi was despised outside Nagarythe already, many already viewed her as a tyrannical woman who wanted more and more power. Malekith although the son of the greatest elf hero was also her son, and she was hated especially in Caledor. 4-Malekith became the second most important person in all ulthuan after bel shanaar, he was respected and admired by everyone. What did he end up doing? Try to claim the throne with a coup d'etat, framing for years innocent elves who were his political rivals with involvement in the pleasure cults to execute them, while allying with the pleasure cults his mother created to claim the thrones, only he got burned to a crisp like the bitch he was because he was unworthy. Malekith only has himself to blame he became a monster and he knows it.
@@ignacio4159 And that makes the druchi less loyal? Evil leader doesn't change the fact that the druchi were extremely loyal and willing to uphold old oaths the same could not be said to the asur.. Elves live long lives so malekith could have skipped fucking the ever queen if people are that disgusted with the idea. The nobility of ulthuan could have crowned him Phoenix king for a while just for the sake of honor(war of the beards could have been avoided by sating the insanity of malekith) then hand it over to whoever next time the group goes for a fun time with the ever queen :p (slutty ass bish the everqueen crap made me more disgusted of helf).
Hey General! 😃 That's the goal. I'm planning on doing Karak Eight Peaks on december. I Don't have a date set yet as I have to dig a bit deeper and see how I can approach that one but i'd say it's 90% sure we are doing it🔥
The Book of Choyer All right that's pretty cool! Also I have a question, would you possibly be willing to talk with me and a few others over Discord to discuss a proposition?
@@joshuapusz8276 Sure I'd love to! 🙂 Can you please send me an email at hello@thebookofchoyer.com so we can further discuss the matter and get into Discord. ?
Its odd the Princes of the Elves were chosen by Aenarion when he became Phoenix King, what right did they have to choose the Phoenix King when by blood with was either Malekith's or his brothers. What right the the snivelling Everqueen have to come out of hiding to make the claim when she fought not for the fate of Ulthuan and Malekith had?
Imagine sacrificing yourself, your entire being to ensure the destruction of horrendous of monsters threatening your people. To avenge your own wife and children, only for your son to literally undo everything in a fit of childish rage.
Imagine being the son of the greatest hero. A renowned leader and warrior. A resolute person fit to be a monarch only for some corrupt men to choose a weak leader they can control. Malekith also sacrificed a lot
Didn't even mention the black arcs which are a huge part of the dark elf lore. So powerful were his mages that they raised the very cities of naggorythe into massive floating fortresses that became the cities in naggoroth. Also naggorond isn't a coastal city. Malekiths mages moved his black arc over the land to start a city in the centre of naggoroth. Normally these a re pretty good but you missed some very important stuff in this one.
This is as good a dark elf as any other, I suppose. Do they all share the property of being weakened by light, or is it that they just aren't very popular with God?
Wasnt that Imrik aka Caledor the Conqueror who defeted Malekith(Imrik Grandson of Caledor Dragontamer) because Caledor Dragontamer was sealed int he Vortex and awoke to stop Malekith magic^^?
This is a lore overview episode. We will go into more details on important characters and events of the Dark Elves in future videos. Hope you enjoyed this episode!

But maybe they were so obscene that it might have interested the god of pleasure as well. As for the rest of the video, great job.
I've always wondered what culture or nation from our world could be compared to the Dark Elves?
Mongols
Nomadic warlike tribes, aka everyone if you go back far enough
USA
@@winogronobiae5825 my thoughts exactly
in the end they become the vanguard of the good guys.
No, they don't. That is an insane retcon.
End times is stupid so
Fantastic video! Thank you for your hard work! Just finished a Mortal Empire campaign as Malekith and this video reassured me that I made the right choice! Long live the Druchii!
You made the right choice indeed Cameron. ⚔
As (mainly) a dark elf player, I loved when I discovered that they are Canadians! For far too long we have had a kind and loving reputation!
Great video, as usual.
👊😃 Thanks a lot my friend!
So they’re basically elves who accepted chaos
Careful on the mispronunciations, they can pull a person out of the beauty you are creating. Otherwise it is an awesome piece of work! I’m loving it.
Thanks Ariston for the feedback my friend! I´m aware of those haha. Gotta do a better job at re-cheking the mp3 file once it´s sent to me. 😅
I really love to listen these Videos , keep going
Awesome video, also thanks for reminding me that malekith is the biggest tool in whfb
A Chaos Dwarves video should be next
Just started playing the warhammer fantasy RPG, love your content!
2nd edition is the canon one
Vote Malekeith 2020. Make Ulthuan great again
Thaks for these videos, thats an amazing job!
So much better than their 40k counterparts.
Damn waht PC were ye running teh game on? My 980 ti machine cant run it very well.
My only problem with the video is that Calador was not a mage, other than that great video!!!!
He was not!? Can you please elaborate on that so I don´t make the same mistake again :) ?
@The Book of Choyer. In book three of the Sundering Trilogy their is an elf from Calador named Imrik. He is the descendent of Calador Dragon Tamer (The mage who created the Vortex). When civil war breaks out in Ulthuan Imrik is elected by the other princes to assume the mantel of Phoenix king, this causes him to take the name Calador. Though not a mage, Imrik was a badass dragon prince. But really the video was great, that was just my own little nerdy nitpick :)
@@georgesoha4725 I appreciate it! Brings light to new info not reflected in the video! 🔥
Imagine how much would have been avoided if the elves just said “Oh, you’re attackers are traitors. Let’s hunt them down together!”
god damn it I've been looking for a quality warhammer lore tuber for a while now. Thank you for doing this!
However, the video is locked to 50 fps?
Yes, it is locked at 50fps, this was one of the older videos. The most recent ones are at 1440p @60fps 😃 Thanks for your words my friend! Welcome to the channel.
Question: is kerilleans shade career from vermintide a dark elf
Where are the Executioners and the most legendary Khaine's bride!
My PC couldn't properly run TW: Warhammer so I can't play this game but, I love your videos.
whenever I see or hear about Darkelfs I think about the movie Brimstone 2016, full of suffering, debauchery and cruelty, specially the part when the husband gets his intestines cut out and slowly dying while having his intestines wrapped around his neck.
😱
yeah it´s fucked up, so are the dark elfs :)
Fitting, im starting my conquest of Ulthuan right now. After uniting Naggaroth I assalted Ulthuan and I have Caledor, Nagarythe and the Fenix Gate, and defeated Tyrion twice. ULTHUAN WILL BE MINE!
Ulthuan will be yours Marc🔥. I have foreseen it.
love your vids! also you pronunced mage lord as maguh-lord lol i chuckled.
Hahaha I just re- checked. I also chuckled 😅
So well done ! thanks!
but are the dark elves considered and Order faction or chaos?
Warhamer reconing pls bring back to a full glory
The high elves betrayed nagarythe for honorably following Aenaerion even when he drew the sword of khaine?! To me That alone is a mark of loyalty...
Then they followed malekith even when his right to kingship was denied they followed the true king.
Then when he decided to take his right they followed him through it and when he decided to live in a frozen wasteland they still followed him.
The druchi are the most weirdly loyal race/kingdom ever while the asur seems to be the biggest assholes ever.
Right... Now read the high elves side of things. Three main factors contributed to the princes not choosing Malekith:
1- If Malekith was chosen the next Phoenix king he would have to have a child with the Everqueen, who was the daughter Aenarion had with the previous Everqueen, she was therefore his half sister.

And that makes the druchi less loyal?
Evil leader doesn't change the fact that the druchi were extremely loyal and willing to uphold old oaths the same could not be said to the asur..
Elves live long lives so malekith could have skipped fucking the ever queen if people are that disgusted with the idea.
The nobility of ulthuan could have crowned him Phoenix king for a while just for the sake of honor(war of the beards could have been avoided by sating the insanity of malekith) then hand it over to whoever next time the group goes for a fun time with the ever queen :p (slutty ass bish the everqueen crap made me more disgusted of helf).
@04:57 “Magalord”?
11:40 i dont remember this cutscene. Either this is some realy good editing or im forgetting something
It is from a faction cutscene, but I can´t recall which one exactly at this moment.
I came here to listen this while i do other stuff.. voice disappears and you need to read what the screen says :(
Do vampire counts!
So, Malekith is basically Darth Vader?
Sees a video about the dark elves on book of choyer: I admire your depravity.
Is it possible for you to cover Karak Eight Peaks with a estimated amount of population of the three forces?
Great video! love the content
@@Stalinlover-jx1jy
Holy Moses, where do I start. Malekith is a petulant murderer who believes that might makes right.
All he does is read source material verbatim and roll total war game footage and art.
Couldn't be arsed to read it all out ey
Because a Magical Attack on Calador Fucking Dragontamer sounds like a good idea.
Dope content! :)
Good work mate
Thanks :)!
Just one word. Wow.
Great video but I couldn't find the song name at the end. Anyone know?
Hey David. It's called "Orchestral Dubstep music - Rising Hope" 👌🏻🙂
Why didn't you mention Malekith's tour to the chaos wastes and genius decision to wear the circlet of iron?
This is as good a dark elf as any other, I suppose. Do they all share the property of being weakened by light, or is it that they just aren't very popular with God?
Khaine and Slaneesh, the best gods in the Warhammer pantheon. The Dark Elves and Dark Eldar have the best lore.
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!
SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!
-Beserker of the one true god, Khorne
Yep. Definitely sounds like Canadians to me!
Wasnt that Imrik aka Caledor the Conqueror who defeted Malekith(Imrik Grandson of Caledor Dragontamer)
because Caledor Dragontamer was sealed int he Vortex and awoke to stop Malekith magic^^?
1 Question Malekith is it the true legitimate king of the elves ???
No
@@reidparker1848 Merci
umm a comment. Caldero (previously imrik) was not a mage. He was a warrior.
Read malekith book where the information is up for grabs
