Thank you, I disabled percussionists, picking up guitar at 66 must keep music in my life, your a great help, will drop off tips on payday YOUR A GREAT TEACHER 😊
I’ve “mastered” maybe 8 lessons now (my version of mastered. Won’t be on the radio any time soon). I played this for my wife last night and she was pleasantly surprised to hear me say with some confidence that this will be my next project. I told her that there’s no question I can play it, I just have to put in the time. AM has been great for me. Equal parts of leadership, inspiration and confidence. Thanks Brian.
Just starting to play lead, though I have been a singer/songwriter since the late 1970's. Love the track and your playing on this one. Never have been "afraid" and have always enjoyed lead guitarists that play pretty much the pentatonic leads. I find they "speak to me" very clearly. Thanks for all that you have made available - helping me already. Brian Gardner
Brian, as a member of AM I am just blown away by the quality and consistency of your lessons. What would be really cool is a video of you composing a lesson from scratch including the writing and recording process for the piece and backing track. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration and keep up the great work!
Yes! So fantastic to break down a lead like this. Builds so much facility. And it’s wild how much clearer everything instantly is compared to a year or two ago when it was still hieroglyphics.
I'm trying to look at it but the whole thing just locked up like a Catholic schoolgirls mom's method of protection the pureness of said define being created from Adam's rib
Barnacles! 😂😊😅 Much maligned critters, it seems. Great lesson as usual Brian. Love how you explain where the notes come from, and identify the barnacles.
Great lesson ...I am having a blast with this....just the kind of stuff I love to play ...rockin country twang with alittle stank on it..Thanks for helping me with my chops! Goog day sir!!
Hi Brian. Great tune, great lesson...So fun to learn/play... Thank you for all the lessons... You are one of the best guitar instructors out there and my favorite for sure...
Fantastic, I'm having great fun playing this, I had neglected major pentatonic too much, and so much can be taken from basing improv on major but dipping into minor. The 3 major chords give this an overall Mixolydian flavour too.
Just beautifully explained frame by frame nice playing over the top you make it look so easy you have inspired me to go farther down that musical road thank you 🎸
Great stuff man! I do like this style of analysis. Especially with styles that have a few chromatic notes, or things that follow the changes. I am better at seeing how “out” notes fit in than I used to be. It was really perplexing for quite a while. But when you explain things like a flat 7, the push and pull between major and minor, flat 5, etc., a beginner can start to understand the function of each of these. Well done!
Ok, Brian, you've shown us how to play in the key... ...and how to play the chords ("play the changes").... So, now you're showing us how to "play the barnacles?!" Got it! 👍 👌
Brian, you are HOT coming off that 500th episode! And with this one, you're coming in hot! This is a good one. I hope I can play it! I'm just commenting after seeing you play the intro.... Can't wait for the rest of the lesson, I'll get back to it now.... Ok, now I've watched the whole part 1 video, and I understand it, but it's gonna take some practice before I can pay it that fast! Can't wait to see part 2! This is fun stuff! (I'm headed there now...sure glad I'm a subscriber!)
Brian, your lessons for these and related video are some of the best! I am not that well versed in the major pentatonic, just learning, but in this video at 5.22 you mention that is the E major pattern 4. When I play it it deems as though it is part of pattern 3. Can you clarify this for those of us that are relatively new to playing the pentatonics?
love your stuff so signed up some months ago to your lessons and really enjoying them, one thing I'm wondering though, I'm sort of new to electric guitar and sounds and it would be kind of cool if at the end of the lessons you could chat a bit about your set up and how you're getting that sound? Still working on trial and error LOL

I dont even care about the lesson i just wanna hear this man play guitar.
Aside from the great classes, I just enjoy listening to you play. Thanks Brian.

Jesus brian! Dont downplay the beauty of simplicity!! Love it!

You are very honest about where you picked up some of the licks. That is appreciated.

I would like to see more of this kind of lesson. No one does it better. Thank you.
Thank you Brian. It's always great to add fun licks to our repertoire. Play On!
Yes! So fantastic to break down a lead like this. Builds so much facility. And it’s wild how much clearer everything instantly is compared to a year or two ago when it was still hieroglyphics.
Brian, you are such a classy player. You cover so many styles but always shades of Clapton, Knopfler, Cale. Can’t wait to dive into this lesson! 🙏

Brian, you are HOT coming off that 500th episode!

Good Stuff!👍👍
Classy
You are the best
love it !
Brian, this is amazing, truly amazing. I'm a paying member, but this "mini concert"you put on here is worth more than the price of admission!
After watching this several times i would have to say that it is pattern 3 of E major pentatonic vs. position 4 at 5:18.
nice! thank you!
The beginning to this was screaming Gary Rossington's Call Me the Breeze solo... 😊
Brian, your lessons for these and related video are some of the best! Impressive
I wonder if you do studio gigs. You have so many different styles in the pocket, and all so fine.
Oh yeah!
I have had an AM sub. off and in, when I get a chance I will be back.
good lord, man. the neck almost caught fire
love your stuff so signed up some months ago to your lessons and really enjoying them, one thing I'm wondering though, I'm sort of new to electric guitar and sounds and it would be kind of cool if at the end of the lessons you could chat a bit about your set up and how you're getting that sound? 💥👌Очень круто!!! 🤝
Fantastic sound, and great lesson. What is your chain to get that sound?
Not to take away from another great lesson, but I like your Tele which I guess is of course is not a Fender. So I guess it must be a custom job ?
Wow
🙌🏼
🤙🏼
James Burton style!
❤❤❤
what brand and gauge of string you use here?
Is the box at 5:18 really pattern 4? Or is the pattern 3 major pentatonic scale?
