It’s the only thing going for the UK. I’m glad we left for Australia when I was 11. I’m the son of an Englishman and a Malaysian/Sri Lankan migrant.. Thatcher was one of the reasons why we went.
They won't privatise it, it has already become a 2 tier system where people with a private healthcare policy will get a proper service and the rest will be ligged out on trollies in A&E corridors and will get seen after the privates and the asylum seekers.
Needless to say that unwanted and uncontrolled (uncontrollable) mass immigration is not an exclusively British phenomenon, but a Europe-wide one. Citizens are forced to pay taxes for it, but are denied any real influence.
I hate the way these presenters try and make callers feel awful for saying what we all know is correct.

I've visited parts of the country where I couldn't feel safe or British in any way! I was alone in my own country in a total different culture...how can this be right? is it normal to visit another town that feels foreign and hardly anyone speaks my language...is this normal?

The presenter is clearly a very privileged young man who is so out of touch with everyday life that he shouldn't be arguing with callers on this topic. His superior attitude and disdain for Helen proves that the class system is very much alive and kicking! People like him need to spend a year living on an estate in Peckham or Hackney to experience the changes to the country and the culture which I believe Helen is trying to convey.

Yeah its weird the people crying about immigrants are mostly outside london and barely know anyone from other cultures. The people less effected by minority groups are the ones complaining the loudest. Id be hating too if i lived outside london in the UK though tbh. Hard not to be miserable

Mr Swarbrick really does have a superiority complex. I would like to see a serious well informed guest for him to argue with . Someone who knows the history and nuance of immigration to discuss his opinions . That lady knows how she feels and a smug dismissal was not the best way to find out why.
She didn’t argue her point very well. If she had done her homework she would have had that presenter in her pocket. You may throw your hands up at her, but she is one of the increasing number of people that know something is wrong. And it’s not the fault of the illegal or legal visitors. It’s all on past government policy. Civil unrest is brewing across Europe because of it.
A majority of people in this country are utterly disgusted by the amount of immigration. But they also know that under our political system there’s no chance of ever changing things. And it’s too late anyway. Luckily those of us with houses can watch the huge numbers make us wealthier without working so we don’t really mind it.
LBC regularly have people on who (if not muted or patronised) have little time or maybe cannot articulate their arguments. They are up against individuals who use words for a living but the condescending air always prevails with little thought for the inexperienced, nervous caller.
