I am a 70year old pensioner my husband 80 it's took me over 2 years to save up to buy a new boiler which has just been fitted , we had to skrimp and save just so we can have hot water . I am Irish, and live in Australia now as I could not make ends meet in Ireland. Four years in university studying mechanical engineering, couldn’t make it work in Ireland so forced to emigrate to Australia at the age of 28, after trying for four years post graduation to make ends meet. I have spent 30,000$ on visas to stay here, unbelievable I know, and never received a cent from the government even through the pandemic. Most of my workmates here working in construction are Irish, English and Scottish, people who could not make it work at home. While our native countries are being repopulated by foreigners.
I'm a plasterer in England and its impossible mate, the wages are somehow going down. No one can afford work, insurance companies and housong associations are getting all the meat since no private homeowner can afford the work without help or installments. I'm visiting peoples houses and they're falling apart, I'm working in houses where the kids are crying for food and the mums finding bits of ham from the fridge to feed them saying "we get paid in 2 days we will give you bangers and mash then youll be okay" whilst I stand there and tell them the business I work for is charging them 4x what I would charge. I'm going home to a freezing cold house where twice a month my lights go out. Employment law doesn't even seem to exist, every business is breaking the law and none of them get sued because everyone is so poor. My neighbours have got rid of their cars, I'm the only one who can shell out 300 quid a month to insure my car which has a value of 1.3k now. Public transport doesn't work, there's no housing, doctors are hard to come by and I'm not even registered at a dentist as they're all full. Go to a hospital its all Asians, go to a dentist and its asains treating Asians. I'm going to leave this place as soon as I've saved enough and I'm never coming back. My family came her from Ireland to build a life and one generation later I'll be leaving to do the same. Fuck this place and if I can help burn it down and destroy all the cameras that charge you to drive to work I'll do that. This place needs to burn.

I'm retired now, but back in the 80's I was a truck driver regularly driving to Italy, Spain and Portugal, I packed in driving to the continent in 1996 because I could see the extent of migrants breaking into trucks and illegally entering the UK. I am so sick of this. My daughter came over to resettle in the UK with her Australian fiancé last year. They both have jobs but have been unable to make ends meet. Every month the bills have gone up and they only live in a second floor one bedroom flat in Peterborough. They’ve had enough and are going back to Australia. I am devastated and so bitter that my English daughter cannot make a living in her own country, but these grifters get handed everything on a plate.

I am 64 and have worked all my life, apart from two years when my eldest son was battling acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. I ended up as a single parent to my two sons, not through choice, but as l had a mortgage to pay, l worked every hour l possibly could to pay my bills. I am due to retire in November 2024, but due to health reasons, l am taking early retirement. For 13 months l will have no money coming in so will have to live off my savings to pay my way. I can understand people wanting to come here for genuine reasons, but when you think that they are going to be provided with a roof, whatever it may be, over their head, hot food, medical help, hot water etc all paid for by the tax payer, l get just the slightest bit annoyed. The government needs to get its act together pretty soon, and the opposition party needs to stop bickering and point scoring and work with the government to find a real, working solution that will save the British taxpayer millions.
They know once they get here it will be impossible to deport them ….they seem to have so many rights….and too many do-gooders helping them in the form of lawyers and charities. It’s an utter disgrace.

Taking away benefits and rights to any thing would be a bigger deterrent. If they arrive and get put in prison while they are processed they might think twice about coming. They do not have any documents so we should be able to do this.

Yesterday it was on ITN News that British homeless families were living in tents and run down accommodation bedsits because the council cannot find accommodation and these families have been living like this for months. Meanwhile it was on the news that 7 Afghanistan families who came over here by dinghy have been giving a brand new 3 bedroom house each worth 6 Hundred Thousand pounds.
That’s insane. Who decides this! They also get all utilities bills paid and get given a debit card, where they receive £45 per head per week. It’s roughly £45 I cannot rem the exact amount. I'm Canadian, I'm eligible for an ancestry visa for UK, but the cost is around 6000 pounds, mostly due to the medical surcharge. I am a 70year old pensioner my husband 80 it's took me over 2 years to save up to buy a new boiler which has just been fitted , we had to skrimp and save just so we can have hot water . I am Irish, and live in Australia now as I could not make ends meet in Ireland.
Four years in university studying mechanical engineering, couldn’t make it work in Ireland so forced to emigrate to Australia at the age of 28, after trying for four years post graduation to make ends meet.
I have spent 30,000$ on visas to stay here, unbelievable I know, and never received a cent from the government even through the pandemic.
Most of my workmates here working in construction are Irish, English and Scottish, people who could not make it work at home.
While our native countries are being repopulated by foreigners.
I'm a plasterer in England and its impossible mate, the wages are somehow going down. No one can afford work, insurance companies and housong associations are getting all the meat since no private homeowner can afford the work without help or installments. I'm visiting peoples houses and they're falling apart, I'm working in houses where the kids are crying for food and the mums finding bits of ham from the fridge to feed them saying "we get paid in 2 days we will give you bangers and mash then youll be okay" whilst I stand there and tell them the business I work for is charging them 4x what I would charge. I'm going home to a freezing cold house where twice a month my lights go out. Employment law doesn't even seem to exist, every business is breaking the law and none of them get sued because everyone is so poor. My neighbours have got rid of their cars, I'm the only one who can shell out 300 quid a month to insure my car which has a value of 1.3k now. Public transport doesn't work, there's no housing, doctors are hard to come by and I'm not even registered at a dentist as they're all full. Go to a hospital its all Asians, go to a dentist and its asains treating Asians. I'm going to leave this place as soon as I've saved enough and I'm never coming back. My family came her from Ireland to build a life and one generation later I'll be leaving to do the same. Fuck this place and if I can help burn it down and destroy all the cameras that charge you to drive to work I'll do that. This place needs to burn.

I'm retired now, but back in the 80's I was a truck driver regularly driving to Italy, Spain and Portugal, I packed in driving to the continent in 1996 because I could see the extent of migrants breaking into trucks and illegally entering the UK. How do you stop the boats? Tell the coast gaurd and the RNLI to stop collecting people. Put the Navy in the channel and turn them round. Arrest everyone who has got here, put them in chains and take them back to France. When people see their £5000 or whatever is wasted they will stop paying it to the smugglers.

Defund the RNLI would be a better option
As someone who travels around the UK a lot using hotels, I've vowed to NEVER use a British hotel that allowed itself to be bought out by the home office and kicked their own staff out to house more illegals.
Good for you. I won't stay at any Hotel which has these PARASITES freeloading in it. Ask before you commit. I could probably live with Hotels using their cheapest and most shoddy rooms to house BRITISH homeless people, that would be a good use of our tax money.

I am so sick of this. My daughter came over to resettle in the UK with her Australian fiancé last year. They both have jobs but have been unable to make ends meet. Every month the bills have gone up and they only live in a second floor one bedroom flat in Peterborough. They’ve had enough and are going back to Australia. I am devastated and so bitter that my English daughter cannot make a living in her own country, but these grifters get handed everything on a plate.

My 42 year old daughter and her husband work extremely hard and have good, secure jobs. They have never left these shores. They live in central Essex in a small 3 bedroom house, one little girl, one car. They barely make ends meet and can't afford holidays.

I am 64 and have worked all my life, apart from two years when my eldest son was battling acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. I ended up as a single parent to my two sons, not through choice, but as l had a mortgage to pay, l worked every hour l possibly could to pay my bills. I am due to retire in November 2024, but due to health reasons, l am taking early retirement. For 13 months l will have no money coming in so will have to live off my savings to pay my way. I can understand people wanting to come here for genuine reasons, but when you think that they are going to be provided with a roof, whatever it may be, over their head, hot food, medical help, hot water etc all paid for by the tax payer, l get just the slightest bit annoyed. The government needs to get its act together pretty soon, and the opposition party needs to stop bickering and point scoring and work with the government to find a real, working solution that will save the British taxpayer millions.
They know once they get here it will be impossible to deport them ….they seem to have so many rights….and too many do-gooders helping them in the form of lawyers and charities. It’s an utter disgrace.

This is so upsetting to me. I came here legally 4 years ago from America and have spent thousands on Visas. My reason for being here is I married a Brit, and our marriage has been genuine. It has been very difficult building a new life here, while these young men are supported by the British people, many who are going through financial hardship right now. Send these men home!
I came here after I was nearly killed by British / Nato bombs in the illegal bombing of Serbia. I had no right to refugee status. I spent 12 years in the immigration process paying over 10 K in fees and much more on international fees for my masters degree. I was paying tax all those years and had no access to public funds whatsoever. Not to mention the psychological abuse by the home office . Yesterday it was on ITN News that British homeless families were living in tents and run down accommodation bedsits because the council cannot find accommodation and these families have been living like this for months. Meanwhile it was on the news that 7 Afghanistan families who came over here by dinghy have been giving a brand new 3 bedroom house each worth 6 Hundred Thousand pounds.

I read it online when I was trying to find out how France treats illegal immigrants vs UK. I'm Canadian, I'm eligible for an ancestry visa for UK, but the cost is around 6000 pounds, mostly due to the medical surcharge. It's far cheaper to go in a dinghy, but sadly my skin is the wrong colour. Plus, I have to show work history, criminal record check, and proof of finances to support myself. This whole thing is a slap in the face to Commonwealth citizens who may want to move to another Commonwealth country.
